FYI: iphones now cannot access NSFW Discord servers

I really struggle to understand why these companies are doing this.

Is it a fundamentalist "porn is bad" mentality? Or is it "we don't know how to parent our kids or monitor their online habits, so, we're just going to parent EVERYBODY including adult people."?

It's a general cultural thing too.

Kinda sad. I know Patreon is similarly cracking down.

I hate how much you can't have sex stuff on a place that's also normal. Its like being banned from having sex on your own house.
 
Why? Just why? I already don't like corrupt companies like Apple and refuse to support them. This just makes them look worse.
 
Companies gatekeeping user content is becoming a major issue and quite frankly needs to be addressed in legal ways.
 
On a related note a bank down here was stopping people using their credit cards to pay for access to porn sites. Seems we getting even closer to "1984".
 
Guys, didn't you know? Sex is bad and harmful and we shouldn't be having it or alluding to it in anyway, and obviously everything that is NSFW or 18+ is sexual in nature.

Intense sarcasm, just in case tone wasn't clear.

Totally agree with you there, Xana - their company, their product, their choice - and while I might not like it, I'm not cut up about it either. It creates a gap in the market and something/someone else will pop up soon enough to fill the void.

Then again, I am already on Android :)
 
With the amount of power they have, it's not that much difference. If you make porn, they're robbing you of options for no good reason.

The government example is more extreme because they could imprison you or other such punishments, but it isn't altogether different.

This is true. However, there does appear to be a strong correlation between political ideologues and private businesses pushing those ideals. Cultural trends get pushed by both the private and public sector, and it's up to us to push back on both.

I just spent 6 years in China where this is just how everything works. My 'spidey sense' goes off when I see it in Western culture. The politicians push an idea, business conforms, and everyone just accepts it. Over here, we're losing our ability to push back on our politicians, but we can still badger companies into occasionally bowing to our demands.
 
It's funny how this comes at a time where fetishes are more open and liberal than ever, at least as far as I can tell. It's a push that I believe is going to be doomed.

I don't like Apple as a company anyways, just another reason to vote with my wallet.
