Nathan placed his hand over his head as he struggled with his homework assignment. He looked at the time, nine at night, and frowned. "I'm missing the Devils playing because of this stupid homework. At this rate I won't even get to chat with Erica online." He bitched, Erica being a girl he had a crush on, but she never noticed him.
About an hour later, he put his pen down, "Fuck this homework. I'll do it tomorrow before Mr. Gons collects it." He said, turning on his computer and trying to log on to his messenger to find Erica.
"Nathan!" Yelled Nathan's mother. "Could you toss out the trash please son?"
Nathan reached for his face and bitched a little more, "Fuck." He got his slippers on and walked out towards the front of their house with the garbage, tossing it in the bin. He turned and noticed a small rustle in the bushes on the neighbor's lawn.
"What the hell? A possum?" He said, walking over slowly to figure out what it was, what he saw was beyond belief, a small woman, a tiny woman, with wings, resting on the leaves. Perhaps she was hurt, or just sleeping. Nathan leaned over to have a better look at her.
