I know this idea may sound a bit out there, but who knows, I'll try it anyway.
The idea is that the characters would be part of a US college Rugby 7's squad, either players or support staff (Or other important people in their lives) Now the rugby itself would be narratively abstracted, so no knowledge would be required of the sport itself. I'm hoping the game will focus more on the challenges these girls face playing in a highly competetive and extremely physical sport, one that is definitely not seen as feminine, and is a rather unknown sport at that.
The struggle between their academic and athletic careers, the long roadtrips, the long hours training, their (lack of) social lives, interpersonal relationships of a romantic or sexual nature.
The game would be LGBT friendly, though not exclusive, and open to polyamorous and non committing characters as well as more monogamous characters.
