Can evolution be weaponized?
About me
Hello! I am etherreal and I thought of a roleplay that I am dying to try! Anyway this i my about me so I am a huge fucking nerd, just to make sure everyone reading this has will grasp that however I also love dark and gritty scenes. Sure dark sex scenes such as bondage is fun to play out however I am also a huge sucker for some brutal scenes out of berserk and goblin slayer if you have seen those. I am in college and I am a physics major so for this role play I won't be able to just spit out a reply everyday unless we try to rapid fire it however I prefer novel style. I rather be able to look at a reply for a while and then style my reply longer than it but not just full of 'he walked walkily walkilage. His walk was very...walky' kind of thing ,but I do like to describe it all the detail when appropriate. If my character is just walking down a flight of stairs im not gonna go into the detail how his underwear moves his dick or what he thinks about the stairs. If he is walking down the stairs about to go on a suicide mission because there is no other choice however you can fuckin bet im gonna milk that shit. About me
Anyway one thing I must add before I get started on describing kinks and all that is that I am flexible, as in if you want to change something about your character my character, a side character just tell me and i'll gladly hear you out. Anyway you came here to check out the role play so i'll begin to explain.
The state of the universe.
So I will be making references to a game called endless space 2 with this. Why? Because the universe is barely holding itself together from the vast political and military tension.
Alzinthons(Cravers): They are a war bound species to say the least. They abandoned their home planet because they raze each planet for resources, leaving it barren where only roaches and other similar life forms can exist. Every state of life is bent around being prepared to murder and they are finding ways to reproduce without the usual method of requiring to lay eggs. They are a bizarre mixture of avian and reptilian as they have wings on their back however instead of feathers they have razor sharp scales. Their interpersonal relationships are based on strength and cunningness same with their internal political structure. Recently a strange mutation that they much approve of is a new set of arms along the abdominal region. To make matters worse is the fact that they don't farm, they are completely carnivorous but this can also be used against them. It is widely known that they feel weak and get sick easily when substantial amounts of plant matter is slipped into their food however they are also more resilient to typical poisons such as arsenic.They run under a total dictatorship
Guvicons(Lumeris): They are mostly amphibious and barely even register as humanoid. They are typically on all fours and their home planet is 90% water and 50% of its mass is even water. However rather than using oxygen like most carbon based life forms they live off the hydrogen within the water and while there is plenty of hydrogen in the air aboard human ships, their water has far less minerals than most worlds hence one of the few planets they can actually live on. They are commerce based, their planet is very rich in desired metals such as gold and titanium. While they do use plenty themselves, it estimated that nearly 30% of the solid matter of their planet is valued metals while the rest is the crust that the human embassy lays upon. As for military they are prepared to fight with plenty of anti air and anti space ship planet defenses and their underwater advantage makes it hard for any conquoror's to really exploit it without spending enough resources to colonize 5 other solar systems to invade the capital of their home planet. They run under a democratic autocracy
Humans: Adapatable and a wild card. While they do prefer peace they have been known to bite back with vicious force. Their planet is relatively chaotic due to the fact that their continental separation caused many political and religous differences in the beginning and still are separated amongst different states. This however makes it impossible to truly invade since there is no central government. In a manner of speaking it is democratic government between all nations however due to recent conflicts there seems to be less than legal dealings going on but no nation has a spy network skilled enough to make it in and out. Humanity has been very secretive similar to a man with a smile but a bloody knife behind his back. While they prefer peace they don't hesitate to kill. Recent grand victories have encouraged militarist idealogies amongst the population and political leaders.
Vilic(sophons): "little grey men" as the 1970s called them. They are a technocratic democracy where they vote on the goal and their vast quantum super computers decide which candidate will be the most efficent for said task and takes into account every detail. They are the opposite of the cravers where they are in fact relatively weak and pacifist standing at about 3'8 on average they have particularly large heads for their structure. They care not for political games with other countries and are quite vulgar and informal. Often telling people that they disagree with to 'go swivel' a phrase that translates to 'go fuck yourself' causing plenty of disagreements. Due to their great minds though, they have planet cracking devices that they brag about but the real thing is that they are cowardly when it comes to real violence and physically are the weakest intelligent life form.
So these are the majority of races that there are, there are a few more but if I keep going on half of this thread will be just me explaining what they are and who they are rather than why and how is this is relevent.
Evolution weaponized. The hook.
Vilics and Alzinthons were attempting to colonize the same planet in a system at the midpoint between their home worlds. Typically one could simply say whoever's domain it laid under would get it, yes? That was the thing though, unlike planets domains such as solar systems went in cycles much like our moon or other planets. It periodically would switch between craver domain and then to Vulic jurisdiction. On top of that, the planet had a valuable resource called 'vonic'. They have discovered that this insignifigcant shiny dust substance was capable of granting immortallity and rejuvinating one even when they were killed along with plenty of other things such as increased neural plasticity, synapse firing speed along with muscle and bone density however it also would increase adaptation speed, making one evolve faster. The vilics took some and left since they knew that a ground battle would be hopeless for them. They then constructed 'the devolver' They took their planet cracking class ship into the orbit of the planet they lossed and proceeded to fire anti-vonic rays upon the surface. They left it alone for 5 human days before going down there. Nothing was left beside either pools of amino acid or corpses of alzinthons. Due to the way it works in forced their genetic structure to constantly reoganize itself to go backwards contrary to what vonic would do naturally. Those that died stopped devolving while the continuous and violent changes to their structure destroyed their cells and those that killed and lived were now pools of lab experiments. This sparked war and outrage. Due to the proximity and the lack of care the alzinthons have the Guvicons joined there side as they attacked the vilics. If they didn't they would destroy the guvicons since alzinthons did not care for their resources, they'd simply bombard their planets and use suicide tactics. Humans were then asked by both sides and due to the time taken by their democratic squabble the alzithons declared war on them too, automatically forcing the humans to join the vilics. Humans didn't trust vilics to say the least however they were helpful, giving them access to their devolving technology to reproduce accelerating their technology at a dangerous pace. Even with this though humans weren't as strong as cravers, not many were. So they decided to use their devolving/evolving tech and put a spin on it. What if they were to evolve a few soldiers? Use it to rapidly change their structure to be smarter than a vilic, stronger than a alzinthon and more shrewd than a Guvicon? If they could mass produce them... they'd be unstoppable.
So in this magic isn't as 'i cast fuck you BOOM' its more so runes and such. So if you are familiar with skyrim, magic is retricted to a very powerful enchanting system. So one could set up a 'i cast fuck you BOOM' trap but its gonna take a bit more than a flick of your wrist and fancy words along with that there will be what I am calling 'gifted' and 'cursed' magic classes. As in gifted is blessing a weapon in a nutshell, making it nonlethal or simply disrupting their consciousness or if its a ray gun or something of the lines it heals an ally but of course it'd take more energy. While cursed takes more energy but it also takes a toll on its user for vastly stronger out comes. so putting one on a grenade would make the grenade's radius even larger and inflict fear on people double the radius, basically being an actual terror weapon but also make its user feel all the fear he inflicted too things like that.
