...is one of the characteristics of being ignored by a user that they are removed from your following list? Sounds like the two are at odds with each other, so it sounds like a valid question to me.

If you ignore a user you won't see them in your follower's list if they are following you.

It shouldn't have any impact the other way around.

Oh no no, I should have wrote that differently. I am currently suffering a temporary chat ban, so I could not ask my question about what it's like to be ignored by someone in real-time and save the clutter in the threads area. But Vek helped me out sufficiently, so all is good.
