Elliot yawned as he pulled into the lot of the 24/7 7/11. He was craving some junk food and just couldn't ignore his stomach any longer. Slipping out of of his black Benz, the brunette walk into the store. DingDong.. The bells sang as he pushed the doors open. The clerk at the desk smiled as she watched him make his way to the back of the store. After several minutes of idle staring trying to figure out what to get Elliot just began picking up stuff. He needed to get up in the morning and here he was out close to midnight buying junk food.

The off duty cop grabbed several bags of chips, a three liter soda, some candy bars, and a couple of brownies from the front of the store. "You alright working here all by yourself ma'am?" he asked in that pesky police voice he loathed but couldn't help speaking in. She giggled softly looking the brunette over. He was dressed in a baggy white tee, baggy black jeans, a pair of white socks and addida flip flops--he looked nothing like a cop. "Yes, police officer sir..." she replied as she began to rang up his things. He blushed lightly. "The voice..." he simply said as he took out a twenty-dollar bill. The woman nodded as she bagged his things. "That will be $10.74..." she told him a smirk.

Handing her the twenty he grabbed the bags and his change. "Have a safe night ma'am..." he told her as he left the store. As he's putting his things in the trunk he hears a scream..."What the hell??" shutting the trunk quickly he reaches into the ankle holster he always wears on or off duty pulling out a .45. Sprinting off down the street he hurries to wear he perceived the scream to be from. While running he managed to call for some back up. When Elliot reached the scene out of breath and slightly tired it seemed like he was too late. "Put your hands up!" Elliot spoke in a commanding voice stopping the man in his tracks. Pow! Elliot ducked behind a dumpster from the man's shot. He darted off in the opposite direction still shooting to keep Elliot at bay. When the stranger was out of view Elliot rushed over to the victim. "A-are you alright?" he asked softly. The distant sounds of sirens grew louder and louder. "Finally..." he thought. Two squad cars and an ambulance arrive at the scene. Paramedics approach the victim as Elliot is pulled away for questioning.

It started off just like any normal night. Really, there was nothing odd about it. He was just going for a walk. Ever since he moved to his new apartment a month or so ago, he enjoyed strolling around the city. He understood that taking walks alone at night wasn’t exactly the safest thing to do but then again, he was just a teenager who grew up in a small, safe neighborhood and believed that things such as rape and murder happened- but not to him. Oh, the irony.

Daniel was on his way home from his nightly stroll, passing by the usual shops and buildings during his trek. Nothing out of the ordinary. He seemed to be in his own, little world until he felt a soft tug at his jacket. His brown eyes shifted over to the source of the tug, gaze settling on a man that didn’t look all to much older than himself but his clothing was ragged and torn. Homeless, Danny assumed. Probably wanted some spare change.

“Pardon?” His voice sounded confused, but still had a certain politeness. Danny was the type of guy that a father would want his daughter to date based solely on his cordial mannerisms.

“M-my son. He’s hurt. I can’t carry him myself,” the elder male pleaded.

“Where is he?” A guttural feeling told Danny that he should just call the police to take care of this instead of doing things himself. However, his caring nature pushed away such thoughts.

“This way, this way,” the man ushered, hobbling and even limping as he made his way towards one of the alleyways. Daniel followed warily, a small chill running down his spine as he entered the darkness between the two buildings. He looked around, about to question where the boy was but his voice got caught in his throat when he felt a hand run over his chest. His first instinct was to pull away, but hands much stronger than his own took his wrists and pinned him against the wall of the building.

“Nng, get off,” Danny growled, struggling and pushing against the man but his shouts were stifled by lips pressing against his own. It wasn’t long until one of the hands was toying with the belt of his pants and tugging them down.

The rest of the event was a blur. He remembered feeling violated. And humiliated. God, what the hell had he done to deserve this? The dull ache in his backside seemed to be the only thing keeping him connected to reality. After the rape, he seemed to be in a trance. Danny could have sworn he heard a gunshot. That’s was when those intrusive hands pulled away from him. It took a moment for him to realize that someone was beside him, talking to him. He turned his head in the officer’s direction but said nothing. His throat was dry and before he could even respond to the man, the blue-and-red flashing lights blinded him and the man was pulled away, leaving him alone again. It was only then that he managed to speak, “Don’t take him away,” he muttered.

He could feel his body shaking as he slowly stood up from his childish position, knees threatening to give way. Danny leaned against the wall for support, a soft whimper escaping his lips as he pulled up and buckled his pants. Humiliated. He felt horrible. Danny felt another set of hands at his arms- this time of a medic’s. The teen shrugged them off, a small growl rumbling in the back of his throat. “Bring him back.”

He wanted to say something but he was pulled off so quickly unable toâ??he barely even noticed the hug. â??Gosh Elliot even off duty trouble seems to find you.â? One of the cops whispered to him with a quiet chuckle. The comment was slightly amusing and he wanted to laugh but he was more worried about the boyâ??s well being. He didnâ??t seem to be responding to any of the paramedicsâ?? questions at all. â??A state of shockâ?¦ Youâ??ve seen more cases like this than all of us Elliot maybe you should be the one to talk to him.â? Another suggested. â??I donâ??t know you are the one with all the training in this field, Iâ??m not even sure what to sayâ?¦â? Elliot sighed as he looked down at the other officers. â??Please, Iâ??ve seen you handle cases like this better than most of the elitist back at the stationâ?¦ Câ??mon Elliot this should be a cake walk for you.â? Running his fingers through his dark bangs he sighed again. â??A-alrightâ?¦But you guys owe me for this big timeâ?¦â?

â??Is he alright?â? Elliot asked one of the paramedics. â??Yeah heâ??s fineâ?¦ A couple of minor bruises here and there, from what I can tell. He wonâ??t let anyone touch him though he keeps asking for you sir. I think the best thing for him is to be within the comfort of his own home.â? Elliot nodded patting the woman on her shoulder. â??Iâ??ll try and ask him some questions, get him to calm down, and then you can take him to the hospital so maybe his family can come comfort him or something.â? Elliot told her quietly before he began to approach Daniel. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the beating of his heart. As he stood in front of Daniel he smiled a friendly smile before taking a small unnoticeable breath of air. â??Iâ??m Officer Hollowayâ?¦But you can call me Elliot for short, thereâ??s no need for formalities here. â?? he told him hoping Danny would open up and not clam up like so many others. â??Would you mind answering some questions for me?â?

It was too soon to be asking him questions and Elliot knew itâ?¦ He was only asking to get the others off his back. â??During the incident did you happen to get a look at the manâ??s face?â? Elliot asked sure Daniel wouldnâ??t answer. The other paramedic left back to the ambulance awaiting orders as the police took pictures of the area jotting down notes. â??If you donâ??t want to you donâ??t have to answer right now. This is just a standard procedure. Um, I could just give you my number and pick up from there when you feel well enough to talk. I think right now the best thing is for you to relax and take a rest at the hospital.â? He spoke. Hesitantly, the man reached forward placing a hand on the younger maleâ??s shoulder in an attempt to comfort him.

Ugh, he had no one to blame for this but himself. If he had listened to his instincts, he wouldn’t be in this situation. Danny didn’t know what was worse: the actual rape or the scene that was beginning to building up as a result. The teen muttered incoherent words beneath his breath, looking up through his auburn bangs to see the small crowd of people pooling around the police tape that was barring them from coming any closer. /Go away/ he thought bitterly. What bastards, standing around and gawking at another’s pain. But then again, had the roles been reversed, he probably would have been curiously staring out at the poor victim, too.

Danny was able to recognize Elliot- he was the man who saved him. A sinking feeling in his stomach reminded him that he didn’t even thank the man for getting the rapist away. He bit his bottom lip, lowering his head slightly for a moment before muttering a soft, “Thank you.”

He wasn’t all too willing to answer the questions. He still was recovering from the shock of what just happened. It wasn’t like he didn’t want the rapist caught… Well, fuck… Danny wasn’t sure why the hell he couldn’t answer. “I don’t know,” he mumbled. Well, that was the truth. He knew he saw the bastard’s face but he just couldn’t recall it. Not now, at least. However, he seemed to break out of his semi-conscious trance at the mention of the hospital. Oh, no, no, no… that was the last place he’d want to go. He’d just be asked more embarrassing questions. “I don’t want to go to the hospital,” Danny said, his voice a bit stronger now. “I don’t want to be left alone, either.”

â??Thatâ??s fine if you donâ??t know. Maybe itâ??ll come to you later.â? He said with a small smile. It wasnâ??t uncommon for many victims of any kind to not remember their attackerâ??s face right away. Usually after a couple of days of rest they were able to recall. â??You donâ??t want to go to the hospital?â? Elliot ran his fingers through his dark hair sighing softly. â??Why thatâ??s the best place for you right nowâ?¦Um and they can get in touch with your family and friends so they can keep you company until you feel better enough to return home.â? Elliot replied. Walking up beside Elliot was one of the other officers. â??So did he get a good look at the guy?â? the man whispered into his ear. Elliot shook his head slowly placing a hand on his hip.

Before turning away from Danny he smiled. â??I think we can take it from here Elliot. Weâ??ll have the paramedics escort him to the hospital for treatment. Go home and get some rest bud.â? Elliot sighed. â??You gonna make sure heâ??s not alone right?â? the brunette asked. â??Yeah sure Iâ??ll make sure they get in contact with people who know him. Heâ??ll be just fine.â? The officer assured Elliot.

Turning to face Daniel, Elliot approached him. â??Iâ??m gonna head home now. My fellow officers here know me well and just like me theyâ??ll make sure you are alright.â? Patting the younger male on the shoulder he smiled. â??If you want, just ask one of the other officers for my number. If you want to talk you can just call.â?

Friends and family, huh? He frowned at the thought. His family lived states away and heâ??d feel horrible to drag his mother or father from that far away just because he was foolish. Plus, if they found out about this they might get scared into bringing him back home and making him go to a local collegeâ?¦ and that was the last thing he wanted to happen. As for friends, he had a fewâ?¦ and although he hadnâ??t known them for long, he knew that they all would be at his side if he needed them to be. But it was just so god damn embarrassing. How could he have them look at him the same, knowing that he got raped? Of course, he knew the saying â??if theyâ??re really your friends, nothing will changeâ??â?¦ but of course things were going to change whether they were true friends or not. He felt a little guilty for not being able to answer any of the manâ??s questions. For christs sake, the guy saved his life and Danny couldnâ??t even remember or face or have family around to keep him company.

â??Iâ??m fine, really,â? Danny insisted, still finding it a bit difficult to talk. â??I only got raped. Itâ??s not like he beat me.â? Well, that was a hell of an understatement. â??Only rapeâ??. All he did was shove something in his ass, thatâ??s all. A few days and all the soreness would be gone. No need to go to the hospital. However, the teen failed to accept that it wasnâ??t the physical damage he had to worry about, but the mental.

He reacted before speaking. As soon as Elliot mentioned leaving, his hand shot out to grasp the manâ??s sleeve, giving a small tug. â??Donâ??t go,â? he pleaded. God, he felt so foolish. He didnâ??t even know the guy. He could barely remember his name. And yet, here he was, asking the guy to stay with him just because he managed to get his attacker away. Shouldnâ??t that be enough? Was it selfish of him to ask the other to remain even though he already owed his life to the man? â??I donâ??t want to go to the hospital. I donâ??t want anyone to find out about this- not my friends, nor my family.â? There was a small pause before he mumbled, â??I just want to get away from this alley.â?

Elliot was taken aback by Danielâ??s grip. He was unsure of what to do next. All the victims he met never acted like this toward him and he was simply baffled at what his next move should be. If Daniel didn't want to go home and he didn't want to go to the hospital, where did he want to go? There was nowhere else for him to go. As he looked down at the hand gripping his sleeve, his bluish-green eyes widened. Surely he didnâ??t expect to come home with him. Elliot didnâ??t think coming to a strangerâ??s house would be a very good idea. He wasnâ??t going to do anything bad to him or anything; Elliot just thought maybe Daniel should be somewhere, where people could meet his every need whatever it may be.

Only rape? Rape was a serious offenseâ?¦ Elliot knew thatâ??s not how the boy truly felt. He was just pretending not to feel anything so he wouldnâ??t be ushered off to the hospital. Elliot could sort of understand his predicament; he just didnâ??t want any other people knowing the horrible thing that occurred there tonight. He stood there in silence thinking of what to do. Maybe he could take him for a drive to calm down and then maybe drop him off home. That didnâ??t sound like such a bad idea. Elliot placed his hand on Dannyâ??s hand. â??Weâ??ll take him now alright. Heâ??ll be fine once we get him cleaned up.â? Elliot shook his head. â??No, I think Iâ??ll escort him home myselfâ?¦. I think thatâ??s what he wants. Besides he says heâ??s fine.â? He told the female paramedic. â??Are you sure sir?â? she asked slightly confused. â??Yes.â? Elliot reassured the woman. â??Alright then.â? She replied patting him lightly on the shoulder before walking away with the others.

After taking more pictures and taking down a few more notes the police began to return to their squad cars. The paramedics left first the police following behind. Once the flashing lights disappeared into the night, Elliot looked down at Daniel. â??Whatâ??s your name?â? Elliot asked. Since they were going to be spending part of their night together he should know his name right?

It was strange. Usually, Danny was a very observant person. He was the type whoâ??d notice a white fuzz stuck to a painting about snow. However, it felt like all of his feelings were null. There was nothing there. He saw, but it didnâ??t register. He was pretty sure that with this entire scene going on, there was a lot of noise but all he heard was a faint buzz. His mouth was dry but there was no taste. Touch? He felt the icy frost left behind by that manâ??s hands where he touched him. But that was about it. He didnâ??t even realize Elliot put a hand over his until Danny turned his eyes in that direction. Strange. He couldnâ??t even feel comforted by the effort this off-duty officer was making to try and make him feel even a little better.

Deep down, he knew he appreciated the manâ??s help even if his sense receptors seemed to be shut off. He lifted his free hand to run his fingers through his russet hair in slight distress, eyes squeezing shut as he tried to gather himself just to even muster a small smile for the man Usually, people felt better about things when people smiled at them. But Danny couldnâ??t even do that. Goddamn. He was frustrated with how he was letting some stranger who was from the dregs of society affect him like this- but then again, all rape victims felt this way, didnâ??t they?

His name, his nameâ?¦ Danny remembered that the manâ??s name was Elliot. But it took the teen a few moments to recall his own title. â??Danny,â? he replied, trying to make his voice sound a bit stronger and more normal despite the painful dryness he felt in the back of his throat. â??Iâ??m a student here,â? the male continued to explain, finding that talking was a good way to keep his mind off of the- well, the rape. â??And youâ??re an officer.â?

He smiled. "Correct. It's nice to meet you...even under these circumstances." a cool gust of wind picked up rattling the trees, spiraling dirt and trash on the street. He shuddered increasing the grip he had on Daniel's hand. When he did that he realized he still had a hold of it. With an embarrassed smile of sorts he gently released the younger male's hand returning his to his side. "Come Daniel we should get going there's suppose to be a storm tonight.." he informed him. He stepped closer remaining at Danielâ??s side hoping to give him the feeling of security.

â??Iâ??m going to take you home now so you can relaxâ?¦ Once youâ??ve had a nice rest you should be back to your normal self.â? Elliot said as he gently grabbed Danielâ??s hand. Before he took one step though, he took one last look at Danny. â??Can you walk alright? Would you liked to be carried. The 7/11 is about a block or so away.â? He said with a smile. Elliot was surprised he was standing on his own. He seemed to still be in a bit of shock. â??Usually they canâ??t walk after something like this.â? Elliot thought as he awaited Danielâ??s response.

[couldn't think of much >.>;]

â??Even under these circumstancesâ??. Danny almost scoffed at the thought of â??these circumstancesâ??. Elliot could be the nicest man on earth but Danny was pretty sure heâ??d rather not know the man if being a rape victim meant that theyâ??d meet. However, in retrospect of that thought, Daniel felt guilty once more. Elliot risked his life to save him- and although it was his job to do so, the man was off duty and had no legal obligation to be doing any of this for him.

The teen didnâ??t notice until he saw that Elliot put his hand on his own- but Danny noticed in an instant when the officer pulled the hand back, looking somewhat abashed for holding his hand for so long. It was a pity. Elliotâ??s hand felt nice. Needless to say, Danny was glad when the man grabbed his hand again. Back to normal, huh? Danny could only hope that a shower and a good nightâ??s rest could make things go back to normalâ?¦ but then again, thatâ??s what he wanted, right? Heâ??s the only one who could hold himself back from recovery.

Being carried was such a tempting idea. Elliotâ??s hand was so warm so it was only natural for the rest of him to be, as well. Itâ??d be a good fix to the chill his body felt right now and walking seemed like such an ugly and arduous task at the moment. However, his pride kicked in. He was humiliated once this nightâ?¦ being full-grown and getting carried around in public seemed so embarrassing. Instead, he compromised by leaning himself against Elliotâ??s side for support and warmth. His ass was sore and his legs felt anything but solid- but heâ??d stand on his own two feet. â??I can still walk,â? he mumbled, frowning a bit. â??I suppose he wasnâ??t that big.â? Danny almost managed a small hint of a grin at his own joke, but good feelings werenâ??t too strong for him yet.

Okay a stupid line but he honestly didn't know what to say. â?? Alright suit yourself thenâ?¦â? he began walking with Daniel. It seemed like it took forever to get back to the 7/11 but as Elliot checked the time he realized only ten, twelve minutes went by. He didnâ??t mind the feeling though he occupied with Daniel being pressed up against him the way he was. The closeness felt nice and he almost didnâ??t want it to end. As they stood by his car he pulled out the keys.

Beeboop. The car sounded as Elliot unlocked it automatically with the remote on his key chain. Elliot then opened the front door for Daniel. He helped get inside safely careful not to have him bump his head. There were many times that happened when he was helping handcuffed criminals inside his squad car. For some reason they always seemed to bump they head no matter how gentle he was. Elliot made sure Danielâ??s limbs were all inside the car before he shut the door. The last thing he wanted to do was slip up and slam something of his in the door.

Elliot got into the driverâ??s seat soon after. He buckled his seat belt starting the car up. â??Where do you live Daniel?â? Elliot asked as he slowly pulled the car out onto the main road.

It felt nice, walking against the other. And as hard as if felt for him to keep trudging on forwards with the feeling that his legs were about to give out at any moment, Danny didnâ??t want to stop. However, arriving at the convenience store was inevitable and too soon, they were at the copâ??s car. A soft sigh passed through his lips when the other pulled away to open the door and help him inside. Danny was very grateful of course, and he thanked the man quietly before sitting inside. Ah, a good rest for his legs. The teen fumbled with his seatbelt, fingers still shaking slightly. After several tries, he managed to buckle himself in.

Once Elliot started driving, Danny was already feeling a little better- more comfortable, at least. He felt like nothing could hurt him within the sanctity of this car with the officer beside him. He was tempted to take hold of the manâ??s hand again, but he realized that the guy was driving and it would be a foolish thing to do.

Where did he live, where did he live. In an apartment, but that wasnâ??t much help. On a street near the gas station- but there were lots of gas stationsâ?¦ â??247 West 17th Street,â? he finally managed to reply.

â??Alrightâ?¦â?

Elliot said as he pulled up to a read like. As he reached to his left, he grazed the panel of buttons with his fingers searching for the right button. Looking down he pushed one of the buttons locking the doors. When Elliot did that he realized it was oddly quiet in the car, so quiet that he could hear the steady beat of his heart. Finding the silence awkward and uncomfortable he turned the radio on. Maybe some music would lighten up the mood.

Soon as he turned the radioâ??s knob on came the music. Heavy metal came blasting from his speakers startling the hell out him. Quickly he turned the radio down. â??Goddamn Susanâ?¦â? he cursed his sister softly. She always blasted the music loud and forgot to turn it down before she turned the car off. Heâ??d forgotten he had let her borrow it to go grocery shopping while he slept. It took a couple of seconds before the ringing in his ears faded away.

â??Iâ??m sorry. My sister likes her music loudâ?¦â? he explained softly as he looked over at Alex. He hoped the music hadnâ??t startled him as bad as it did him. He switched the radio to something a little more settling and kind to the earsâ?¦ He didnâ??t really enjoy soft rock but he needed something to keep his mind from wandering.
