Kagemusha Streets: The Pit Stop

Tetsuo laughed at Yui, but since she slapped him on the arm, he reflexively bent his crotch away from her swing, just to be on the safe side. He escorted her over to the machine, a hollow globe with telescoping hexagonal panels, some of which were translucent, and some of which were not. He held a visor in one hand, and reached out to her other. "Here, put this visor on and hold my hand so you don't lose your balance."

"Like I would," Yui laughed. "You've clearly never seen me play DDR."
Despite her words, she took his hand anyway, and leaned on him for support as she pulled the visor over her face. "Alright, now what?" When she put it on, she saw a brilliant blue light and experienced a full body ASMR. "Please Insert your Dreamscape Coin." said a voice that sounded like the ARIA computer on Kyle Hill's youtube channel. When she did so the voice intoned "This Dreamscape Coin is spiritually attuned to the user Yui Sakamoto. User not found in Sato VR database. Create Profile now?"

Yui shivered for a moment as the sensation washed over her. Her hand trembled with excitement inside Tetsuo, and she felt goosebumps forming on her exposed arms. Under the visor, she lifted an eyebrow. 'Spiritually attuned', huh? That was interesting. It took her a moment to register that it was asking for her input, distracted as she was by that thought. "Uh, yeah, let's do it!" For his part, though she did not see it, Tetsuo noted she had no profile. Interesting... it must mean she got one... back then? He made a note to ask her about it later.

A pretty standard dialogue box appeared, requesting that the user confirm having read terms of use and whatnot. It forced Yui to scroll down. The language of the terms of use is fairly standard, but extensive. It talks about fair use, piracy and all that. One of the unique declarations you won't find in any other TOU is that as long as your Dreamscape Coin is used, you can access your profile on any SatoVR compatible unit, however, you should use a globe for the best experience. Controllers making standard gaming consoles compatible are available for purchase on SatoVR.co.jp.

Yui scrolls quickly through most of that, barely paying attention to what it's saying - though she does laugh when she hits the section about other controllers. "Really, Tetsuo-kun, you put an ad at the start of your game?" She says out loud - while internally making a note to check that site out later. "Sorry." he said. "Just letting users know they don't have to buy a whole new console if they just by the controller for the existing console."

When Yui clicked through, her screen could be displayed on one of the TVs. This was apparently something permitted by the license agreement. The screen went away "SatoVR uses a full body haptic experience, including optional internal sensations. Do you wish to enable the optional internal sensations?" 'Internal'? What could that be about? Yui shrugged, and clicked yes. Might as well get the full experience, right?

Do you wish to enable optional injury simulation? Yui raised her eyebrow again, her hand hovering over the "yes" button. "I'm not agreeing to be tortured or something here, am I?" She asked Tetsuo skeptically. Before Tetsuo could answer, the machine intoned "The injury simulation falls within JISHA guidelines for electrical discharge of a product intended to simulate pleasure to a maximum of 20 volts. Please set the level on a scale of 1-10." Well, that didn't sound too bad. Yui hesitated for a fraction of a second more, but then, aware that Tetsuo and who-knows-who-else was watching her, cranked it up to 10. Whatever. She was sure she could take it.

"SatoVR has the capability to use your Haptic Profile and biometric scanners to create a base avatar for you to experience the world of Shadows of Kagemusha. The information is stored on secure servers that only SatoVR employees have access to. Do you wish to allow SatoVR to create your base avatar with this data?" "So my avatar's based on me? That's cool," Yui grinned. "Yeah, let's do that."

As soon as Yui consented, the globe went completely pitch black and she lost grip of Tetsuo. She felt a suction. For just a split second, it seemed as though her clothes were removed. This was reflected on the screen outside. Yui felt a very soft, comfortable, elastic fabric where her clothes once were. Her nude avatar stood in front of her eyes. It had everything she had. The right nipples and genitals, hair and eye color, and skin color. The only thing it lacked, was any scars that Yui had obtained in her real life. "Would you like to customize this avatar?"

"Wow." Yui's immediate feeling, once the weird suction had passed, was pure amazement. It was like looking in a mirror - that was really her, standing right there! She reached one hand to her stomach to feel the strange, elastic fabric that had replaced her clothes, while she stared at her nude doopleganger's form... and then she remembered where she was, and her face immediately flushed a deep red. If she was seeing this...
"Tetsuo-kun, you perverted jerk!" One hand flew up reflexively to try and cover her chest - which did nothing to cover the avatar - while her other hand flailed wildly in the general direction where Tetsuo had been standing in the real world. "You better not be broadcasting this!"

"I'm sorry!" he said. "Nobody has ever accepted both the internal sensations, and the Haptic Profiler!" after a few moments "You can turn those off if you like, those are why your avatar is naked." "It doesn't matter why it's happening, you moron!" Tetsuo's apology did very little to calm Yui down. Her one saving grace was that she'd finally turned her head away from the avatar to shout at him, giving everyone watching from her point of view one last view of her digitized breasts sweeping past before the camera turned to stare off into a void. While she continued to try and hit Tetsuo, Yui stabbed blindly with her other hand at the in-game controls, trying to find the "accept avatar" button - shouting loudly at Tetsuo the entire time. "Idiot! Lech! Dim-witted pervert! Turn the screens off!"

Yui suddenly became aware that she could hear her own screams. At that moment, Tetsuo stepped into action. He was not able to turn off all the monitors so he chose the next best thing. To accept the avatar creation from outside the unit by pressing a button on one of the panels. He knew that she would have the basic linen clothes and dagger all characters started with. Unfortunately for her, he accepted right as she yanked on her avatar's breast, pulling out to the maximum dimension of a J cup. The screen began to play a cutscene. Yui could feel the weight of her avatar's chest even in her Samurai Armor that had been given to her during the cutscene. It was obvious this would be legendary gear. Her avatar was run through. The injury simulator only produced a mild pain in her gut, but it shut down her visual cortex for a few moments to simulate unconsciousness. When she "came to" she was in the linens, in a pile of bodies, apparently about to be buried. The first thing she saw was how huge her avatar's breasts were.

Nevermind that. The place was so fucking nasty that rats had congregated. It appeared to be a cave, so maybe she wasn't supposed to be buried after and just dumped. Yui heard both dripping water, and running water. This was promising, as if she could find a pool of water, it might be a good idea to wash off. The olfactory simulation in this game was intense.

When Akihiro put the visor on, he saw a brilliant blue light and experienced a full body ASMR. "Please Insert your Dreamscape Coin." said a voice that sounded like the ARIA computer on Kyle Hill's youtube channel. When she did so the voice intoned "This Dreamscape Coin is spiritually attuned to the user Akihiro Shirogane. User not found in Sato VR database. Create Profile now?"

Akihiro’s body shivered from head to toe as the sensation washed over him. It only lasted a moment, which allowed him to gather his senses. He put the coin in the slot and allowed the computer to do the work. “Yes, create profile now.” Akihiro confirmed for the AI.

Akihiro took a moment to scroll through the terms of use before going down to click agree. It was all fairly common stuff. He actually read his first one top to bottom, which he regrets to this day. Huge waste of time. “Shameless plugs. Got to love them.” He teased Tetsuo a bit, aloud. He then continued on. Tetsuo protested about how it wasn't just a shameless plug, it was because it's cheaper than buying a whole globe.

When he clicked through, Akihiro's screen could be displayed on one of the TVs, same as Yui. The dialogue box went away "SatoVR uses a full body haptic experience, including optional internal sensations. Do you wish to enable the optional internal sensations?" “Yes.” Akihiro confirmed, despite his friend’s words. He will simply have it to a low setting. "Do you wish to enable optional injury simulation?-Yes.”

"The injury simulation falls within JISHA guidelines for electrical discharge of a product intended to simulate pleasure to a maximum of 20 volts. Please set the level on a scale of 1-10." the machine intoned “Have it set to 3. I don’t want to kill myself.” Akihiro said.

"SatoVR has the capability to use your Haptic Profile and biometric scanners to create a base avatar for you to experience the world of Shadows of Kagemusha. The information is stored on secure servers that only SatoVR employees have access to. Do you wish to allow SatoVR to create your base avatar with this data?" The robot continued. “No thank you. I rather create it myself.” He didn’t want anyone to see him naked, like what happened to that girl. The avatar looked a bit like a young Michael Vartan but nude. "Would you like to customize this avatar?"

“Yes, please.” He only made the avatar look younger, around his age, and gave him a clearer hair cut. Mostly to look like him.

After he accepted the avatar, the screen began to play a short cutscene. Akihiro felt nothing unusual about his Samurai Armor that was equipped during the cutscene. It was obvious this would be legendary gear. Like Yui, Akihiro's avatar was run through. The injury simulator only produced vibration in his gut, but everything went dark to simulate unconsciousness. When he "came to" he was in the linens, in a pile of bodies, apparently about to be buried. The first thing Akihiro saw was how huge Yui's avatar's breasts were. They both were confronted by the rats.

Akihiro found the introduction cutscene to be interesting. As a advent player of games, he always liked the idea of the main character getting defeated and having to rise up from the dirt. Either for revenge or justice. But it usually depends on how it’s done.

Appearently, whoever was ready to bury him wasn’t good at checking bodies. He was still alive and in armor. “Ok, time too-“ his sentence was interrupted by the sight of Yui’s impossibly large breasts.

“Why is that the first thing I see when I get control?” Muttering, he searches for a weapon to fight the rats with.

The system began to reboot. "Hello Akihiro Shirogane, welcome back" it said. Fortunately he didn't have to go through the whole setup again. Everything was saved except that legendary Samurai Armor. Someone else said "woah dude, that was a neat glitch, what did you do?"

“Looks like they need to do some more work on this.” Bugs weren’t a rare thing in these sorts of games, so it wasn’t an issue for him. But if it keeps kicking him out and bad enough to give him legendary armor at the start, there was a problem. Akihiro took his knife to stab one of the rats.

The game is exceedingly graphic. The rat was stuck on the end of the knife flailing. The others started scuttering around warily, not quite dodging, not quite attacking.

Akihiro was having a good time so far. The graphics were great and the immersion was fantastic! His first time in VR was starting off strong! He starts to attack the other rats, wanting to kill the remaining enemies before moving on.

If there was one upside to being suddenly stabbed in the gut, it was that it forced Yui's attention back onto the game. The barrage of abuse she'd been directing at Tetsuo - which had continued, unabated, throughout the opening cutscene - finally came to a stop as she grasped, instinctively, at the simulated injury. Then her vision went black...

... only to fade back in on a truly massive pair of breasts.

"Tetsuo..." Yui ground out his name again through clenched teeth, one hand clenched in a shaking fist as a vein throbbed in her forehead. She vaguely remembered grabbing hold of something soft as she was trying to find the controls, right before she pulled her hand back, but... no, this was definitely that pervert's fault! "You better not have recorded all of that..."

Well, it was done now. Yui let out a frustrated sigh, and prodded experimentally with one finger at the linen-covered bazookas that still occupied most of her vision. Her finger sank into the soft, yielding flesh; it was uncanny how realistic it felt, but also how different it felt to her real, significantly smaller boobs! "How does Akiko-chan deal with a chest like this, anyway?" She wondered aloud, reaching out with both hands now to see if she could even halfway wrap her hands around - before she remembered that she could well still be on camera, basically groping herself, and pulled her hands back with an angry blush. It was only then that she began to notice the rest of her surroundings - specifically, the pile of bodies she was lying in, and the rat sitting not two meters away, staring her right in the eye as it gnawed on someone's foot.

Yui shrieked as she sprung to her feet, danced a few meters from the pile as quick as she could, and back to desperately brush down her clothes, shivering with disgust. "Gross!" she whined; "Gross gross gross!" It was one thing to see your character pull themself out of a pile of bodies through a screen; quite another to do it yourself! She was still composing herself a moment later when another person - geared considerably better than she was - blipped into existence.

Staring at her chest.

Which he then commented on.

Yui flushed red with anger, and immediately stamped her foot towards him, extending one shaking finger. "O-Oh yeah?! Well, why is your face the first-" She started to retort, but before she could finish the sentence - he vanished again in a shower of glitchy, corrupted graphics. Her sentence trailed off as her mouth set in a thin line, and she let out another frustrated huff.

Ok, ok. She had to focus. This was clearly some kind of starting dungeon; with any kind of luck, she could track down some actual gear, start kicking some ass, and put this ignoble start behind her. She had to hand it to Tetsuo - interface and bug problems aside, this was incredibly immersive. She really felt like she was standing in some dank cave, breathing stale air, hearing rats scurry around and water trickle in the distance. Finding that water seemed like a good place to start, actually - she was beginning to really smell the decay from those bodies, and who knew if this game had some kind of disease system? She began to inch her way around the starting cave, giving the rats a wide berth as she began to get her bearings and figure things out. She was a little unsteady as she walked - the additional weight on her chest was really throwing her balance off, and she a feeling the game was helping her compensate for her new dimensions, but it was still a little distracting.

While she was working, the other player reappeared - in the same gear as her this time, she noticed - and set about taking on the rats. She left him to it, preferring to focus on her own goal, and by the time he was done mopping them up she had some idea which way she wanted to go. "Hey, lecher!" She called out from one the entrance to one of the cave's passageways, her hand on the wall. "I think there's something down this way!" She turned to walk away, not waiting for him to respond, but stopped after a moment to turn back and add, "Bring those rat carcasses with you!"

2d6 + 3 = 10. What's the best way in/out/past to the water, what should I be on the lookout for, and what here is useful or valuable to me?

Turn Someone On: "Grab those rat bodies and follow me, Akihiro strange pervert!"
2d6 + 2 = 9. "If they do it, they mark RP."

For her own part, Hanako had gone through the same thing. as all the others, the cutscene, the legendary armor, the simulated death--though hers hijacked her brain like Yui's instead of robbing her senses like Akihiro's. Hanako was already very familiar with the weight of heavy breasts, and was only uncomfortable with how much they were compressed while the legendary armor cutscene occurred. For her part, Hanako chose to use the rat carcasses she'd obtained to augment the linens into a Rat Patch Loincloth (1 armor, Battlekini) leaving her topless. Wordlessly, she crouched, and followed them, wondering if this would level up a stealth statistic.

Akihiro finished killing the last of the remaining rats around them. Honestly, he wasn’t completely sure if they were a threat to them or not. His knowledge and experience with other JRPG game simply took over. Rats are often starting monsters in other games, after all.

Turning to the other girl, he simply decided to follow her instructions. It’s not like he had a better idea of where to go. Collecting the rat carcasses, Akihiro jogged to catch up to the other player. “Thinking we can craft them into something useful?”

"Or sell 'em for coin, yeah."

Yui smiled to herself - facing away from Akihiro as she led the way, where he wouldn't see it - glad that he seemed to be quick on the uptake. He might be a weird pervert, but at least he didn't seem to be a complete idiot. She paused for a moment as they reached a fork in the path, then nodded in one direction, sticking with her hand-on-the-wall strategy. "This way."

The starting linens were not super well suited to her new breasts; her top clung a little too tightly, and kept riding up, exposing her midriff. She walked quietly at first, trying to listen out for the water, but before long decided to introduce herself.

"I'm... 'Regal', by the way," she said, picking out an English word to use as a sort of avatar name; the system probably still knew her as Yui, but why not? She glanced back towards him as she spoke, expecting a response - but then her eyes narrowed. "Don't panic, but I think someone is following us," she muttered.

Hanako stood up, and as she did, the gray filter over her avatar blinked off. She was topless, only having the loincloth she had fashioned. It was very clear she was Hanako She appeared to be rolling dice "Hi! I'm um... O-orokana? Yeah, that'll do." The second she said that, her avatar quit rolling dice, and Oorokana appeared over her head in green letters. she clicked a button in front of her that was now showing in front of "Regal" the level indicator disappeared. It was "1" anyway.

Akihiro allowed his companion to take point. She had a good idea of how to get them through. “Akihiro.” He introduced himself back, not bothering to come up with a new name. The whole point of RPGs was too insert yourself into them. That and he couldn’t think of a good name.

“Someone following us?” He turned to see the person in question revealing herself. “Hey, Hanako.” Akihiro greeted her with a casual wave. “Why didn’t you spawn with a top? Maybe we can find you something, so you won’t be defenseless.”

"Hi Akihiro! I did spawn with a top." Hanako said. "Same as you guys, and a regular bottom, I just used them and the rat skins to make this loincloth with my knife. But I think what gets spawned is random, so don't depend on it." she shrugged. "Are there voices up there?" Now that she mentioned it, you could hear some type of throaty voices up ahead, but what they were saying was very unclear. Like they were speaking another language. It definitely wasn't English or Japanese. It sounded a bit like Arstotskan Warble, except instead of being random noise, it was like they were using real words. "we should be careful, they might kill Akihiro, and do who knows what with us?" the cuckoolander joked. As seriously as she did not seem to be taking this it was hard to tell if she was roleplaying or making some sort of reference. "But they might also be merchants?" the idea of merchants in a random cave didn't seem super logical, but then again, neither did having players start there.

Yui's mouth sets in a thin, unimpressed line as Hanako - or Orokana - reveals herself. "Of course you know her, Lecher-san," she mutters, her voice utterly soaked in judgement. She reaches up to place one hand firmly atop his head, and pointedly turns it away from Hanako's state of undress. She also glances away herself, mindful of the broadcast - but looks back a moment later, struck by a thought, and reaches a hand towards Hanako's name to open a radial menu.

"So there is a crafting system, huh?" She muses aloud as she taps through the menu, searching for Hanako's gear. After a moment she finds it, and tilts her head to the side as she looks over the numbers. "Actually... that stuff's got better defenses than what we're wearing, Lecher-san. You should probably make some for yourself." She glanced back over to Akihiro - and suddenly went red, her face aghast, as she was hit by another thought. "N-not that I'm interested in seeing you walk around in a loincloth, or anything! It's purely more efficient, that's all! Don't get any dumb ideas!"

Turning abruptly on her heel, she resumed heading down the corridor - still bright red, head held high, storming away as if that whole exchange had been their fault somehow. "C'mon!" She called back, without looking back. "Whoever's up ahead, merchants or not, the three of us can handle 'em!"

It was probably goblins, she thought. This seemed like a goblin-y kind of place.

Akihiro didn’t seem too keen on trying to correct Yui on what she was referring to him as. It’s not as if she was the first to call him names. Far from it. The entire female student body calls him just about every negative thing in the book. In fact, lecher just happened to be one of the nicer names. It wasn’t worth the effort to try to defend himself.

“A crafting system?” She followed along with the others, trying to open is menu to find a crafting menu. No tutorial screen came up to tell him about it. Did they need to figure it out on their own? He had hope there were simple recipes premade for players. If not, they needed to figure it out. Just like in early Minecraft.

“Smooth, Regal. Smooth.” With a click of his tongue, he attempted to create a similar loincloth out of the rat carcasses on him. Once finished, he raised a hand up. “I can try to see what it is myself. Better me then you guys.” Akihiro crouched down to investigate the voices.

Hanako thought his choice of words was hilarious, but laughed inwardly than out loud. Then is a time, than is a preference. Then is a time, than is a preference. Then is a time, than is a preference. she muttered to herself, like a student who had made the mistake enough as a child to now have it drilled into her head. She somehow managed to unconsciously avoid Akihiro, even to the point of stepping around him while ignoring the fact that he was even there, still muttering Then is a time, than is a preference. Then is a time, than is a preference. Then is a time, than is a preference. What did happen however, was that she tripped over a crag in the floor, fell into the shaft of a spear, which was leaned over a tripod cooking pot, which also fell. The spear broke. Hanako immediately picked it up, and wrapped her loincloth around it "Don't hurt meIswearitwasanaccidentseehereIfixedit?" she said standing tall and proud with her back arched so as to appear more... humble as she held it out in front of her with both hands.

One of the goblins jumped up at the crack of the spear, and barely avoided the boiling water. The goblin with the hobo sack (9 yards across) said "We no hurt. Yoo keep loincloth, but broke spear so must pay! Storm two days ago. We came. We camp. Wolves come. Wolves camp. Now wolves still there, we stay. You kill wolves?"
"Alright, well, I will wait on my friends to discuss it with them, but can I take the broken spear to do it? It's bigger than my knife, so it's probably better." the klutz implored.

"We are capable of defending ourselves, you know," Yui huffed loudly, her arms crossed in front of her chest, as Akihiro volunteered to go ahead - but, miraculously, she did listen to him. She stopped where she was, leaning against the cave wall, and waited for him to overtake her; disappointed glad to see he'd managed to craft something a little less revealing than Hanako's loincloth. She remained there as he began to creep ahead, closing in her eyes as she settled in to listen and wait.

"Guess he can be chivalrous when he wants to be," she muttered quietly, as much to herself as to Hanako. What she failed to notice was that Hanako wasn't waiting with her, but had in fact also gone ahead. She figured out her mistake when he a series of loud crashes and raised voices from somewhere around the bend. Yui's eyes snapped open and she took off running down the tunnel after the other players, gripping her dagger tightly...

... only to come skidding to a halt at the edge of the goblins' camp. She brought up her dagger, ready to fight, only to slowly lower it again as she took in what, exactly, the situation was. Her shoulders slumped, and she buried her face in the palm of her free hand with a sigh.

Akihiro didn’t care enough to wait for Regal to agree or disagree. There wasn’t any time to argue with one another when danger was literally around the corner. If he gets caught, they might as well take his potential death as a chance to get past or ambush the enemy.

He was being very careful not to be heard or seen by whoever was ahead. Hiding behind a large rock allowed him to stay hidden and scout out the others around. A group of four goblins. Usually, goblins are used as fodder enemies. That’s not always the case, however. These goblins can be intelligent and capable of reason. Which Hanako found out by accident.

“Damnit.....” He stepped out of hiding to reveal himself. “We will help. If you can lend us a spear or two for this that would be a big help.”

The goblins were visibly fuming, but clearly not wanting to escalate "Take them. Just go! Beat wolves! Then maybe come back trade." That having been sorted out, Hanako effectively obtained a Crude Shortsword and a Crude Club, while each of the others has spears.

“Thank you.” Akihiro took a spear and handed on to Regal. “We will be back after we take care of the wolves. Do you mind giving us the directions to the wolves?”

Afrer being given directions, the sole male of the group took charge by taking point.

Yui accepted the spear with a grin, twirled it a few times experimentally, and offered the goblins a cocky thumbs-up. This was more like it. She'd only caught enough of the conversation to get the gist of the goblins' problem, but it was something about killing wolves, right? Surely they could handle a couple of wolves.

She fell in behind Akihiro without complaint, content to let him walk up-front for now - after all, he had the best armour of the three of them. As they made their way through the caves, she drifted over to walk alongside Hanako - still doing her best not to look directly at her companion's nudity.

"Hey, Orokana-chan?" She said, a curious tone in her voice. "Does it really not bother you, being so... naked? I mean, they're broadcasting everything we see on those screens out in the courtyard... and, well, there's him." She gestured vaguely at Akihiro's back. "You're ok being seen like that?"

Hanako smiled, at Aki-kun "I-it looks like there's only one way from here, other than back there." she said and as she indicated the opposite end of the large auditorium-like area they were in, it became... well, not obvious, but perhaps apparent. There was light in that direction. And some faint recordings of howls that sounded like digital assets rather than like wolves howling in a cave. This of course, was not the easiest of things to simulate, on account of the questionable nature of gathering such recordings, but there is a cave south of Kagemusha called Chitsu Cavern, it might be worth adventurous minded people exploring in the interest of improving the data files.
As Hanako was musing on how difficult it would be to get a better wolf sound asset, Yui blindsided her with questions about her nudity. She thought hard about it, though it seemed less about the answer, and more about how to say the answer "Well, my family never put too much stock in controlling what the females in the family wore, so we just sort of wore what we wanted. I always liked the short legged bib overalls that you see stereotypical farmers wear. Very functional, not super entrapping. Anyway, I think maybe some gangsters back in my old town thought something different about it, or maybe it was tying their leader's shoes together, but they gangraped me and my brother rescued me. I figured if he could see me naked without scratching 'is eyeballs out, I may as well not be embarrassed too."
As the party meandered, they came to a sharp right turn where they could see water hot enough to radiate its warmth running down hill, and a less sharp left turn where they could see that light shone through.

Well, obviously the game needed more work. He found this out when the howling reached his ears. Or what was suppose to be howling. The development team didn’t have good audio to use for the wolves, it seemed. Something they need to work on for the full release of this game. “Ok, I’ll go scout it out. See how many they are. Follow behind me.” The male or the group went on ahead.

Akihiro was unable to sneak upon the wolves who had found themselves on the site of an Onsen. Two of them were drinking water, the other one lept into the air and gnashed at his avatar. As it held him down, Akihiro shook inside his globe and wasn't quite sure if pain would be what registered if the settings were actually turned up. The wolf missed.
Akihiro's roll was bad enough that both of the girls get a free attack on the wolf on top of him, which is preventing the other two from attacking.
