It was a long summer since graduation, and Alex was happy that college was finally starting. Able to get out of the house, away from family until Christmas. Carrying two luggage bags and a backpack into one of the dorm buildings wasn't too hard either. He wasn't overly strong, but he could carry things forever if he had to. Semi long brown hair was disheveled, falling into his blue eyes.

He went to the front desk and said his name, and got the key to a room on the third floor, 325. Great, a flight of cramped stairs. Somehow, he made it up in less than ten minutes. The stairs were followed by a long hallway. They sure wanted to kill him, eh? But he eventually made it, and putting down one of the luggage to fish the key from his mouth, he opened the door.

He had seen men and women on the floor, so he guessed it was a co-ed dorm. Fair enough. He wouldn't mind. As long as he didn't get a gay guy as a dorm mate, he was fine.

He slowly unpacked, picking a closet and starting to fill it with his shirts and pants. His dorm mate wasn't here yet, so he left the door cracked, so they could get in easier. He pulled slightly on blue jeans that were starting to rub too much on his legs. He hated jeans sometimes.

  • A soft yawn, as a girl stretched her arms up above her head, after lying on the still slightly warm ground. Bits of dead grass clung to her shirt and pants, with streaks of green still around. How pleasant! Running her long fingers through her hair; a strange mixture of red, black and a few white strands that fell to her neck. Finally, a new school year, and at collage! How...Exciting! Out of her house, and into the dorm, finally on her own for the first time; and she wasn't joking when she said that she had absolutely no privacy in her house, it was a pack, her family was. The aforementioned girl, eyes the colour of bronzed gold, had a hand on two suitcases, and a backpack on top of them as she kicked herself up to sitting position, and got up. Artemis slung her bag over her shoulder, before pulling the two bigger cases behind her, seemingly effortless.

Artemis Moonsong was not your average girl. Than again, was anyone normal in this place? Whistling a tune to herself, she gave the front desk her name, before placing the key in between her strangely straight and white teeth; her hands were defiantly full. Room 235, huh? How...Nice. Stairs. Woopie. She needed an elevator in this place.

Half wondering if she should just chuck her stuff up the stairs, Artemis sighed, before struggling up the stairs one at a time, a second trip for her other suitcase. It wasn't long before she was huffing and puffing like the Big Bad Wolf in the Three Little Pigs. Not fun, not fun at all. Making sure the cases were on wheels, she started to look on the signs that indicated which number the rooms were, 231, 233...Ah, 235.

Strange, the door was already open... Using one booted foot; hiking boots, high-heels were so inconvenient at times, she kicked the door ajar. Inside...Was a guy? "Mhy mar mu min my hoom?" The girl inquired behind her key, raising an eyebrow. A proper translation would have been; 'Why are you in my room?'[/list:u]

(you had the numbers backwards, Cara Mia. 325. but dont worry about it :p)

Alex turned his head back at her exclamation. His eyes narrowed slightly. "What do you mean, YOUR room? This is MY room. See?" He held up the key that had the number 325 on it before sighing, deciding to be nice. "Let me help you with that."

He walked over to her and took one of her luggage to carry it to her dresser, so she didn't have to squeeze it all through the door at once. He inhaled a breath, and he got a very strong scent that almost made him growl. Damn lycan! But he couldn't kill her, he didn't want expulsion on him. He would just have to deal with her for now. Carrying her luggage case to her dresser and sliding it inside to make it easier to unpack, he went back and tried to finish unpacking his stuff.

  • [[ Ack! Sorry! ]]

Raising a fine black eyebrow, Artemis frowned around her key, teeth starting to dig into the material. Uh oh; better control those jaws, or else she would bite it completely in half. So...He had the other key? Was this some sort of mistake? A grunting sound, as if to indicate that her own key had the number 325 on it as well. Shrugging her shoulder, she let go of her luggage, removing the offending object from her mouth, eying the lovely small dents that had formed underneath her fangs. Oh...dear. Oh well.

Inhaling deeply, her tawny eyes flashed golden for a moment. A sweet scent that made her nose prickle. Vampire? A smirk, as Artemis grinned at him, white teeth pearly enough to rival his own, as the girl shrugged her shoulders. So he was a bloodsucker, eh? Hyn. As long as he didn't drink her blood; which the werewolftess was sure he wouldn't, their blood was supposed to be 'unappealing' to the...um...fairer opponents.

Pulling in the other one, she tossed her bag up towards her bed, before flipping open the contents of her trunk, rummaging through the clothing, a soft humming sound coming from her lips.

"What's your name, vampire?" She inquired casually, flipping through some notebooks, before laying them to the side.[/list:u]

"Alex." he said, pulling out his laptop case and heading to his desk. He pulled it out and set it up, plugging in his adapter and ethernet cord, and turning it on to set up the network. "And yours, lycan?" Her smell wasn't completely unappealing, he had to admit. Still had the pleasant scent of a female...

He shook his head, setting his network up before shutting the laptop down, closing it, then turning around to face her. She was rather good looking, he admitted. Ack, how could he say that? Turning away and standing, going back to his stuff to finish unpacking. It would take a bit.

  • Making a gesture that could have ranged from explosion to flight, the lycan girl grinned, before pulling out four balls out of her suitcase. Humming to herself, she tossed them into the air, juggling them with ease, before catching them after the fifth round. She didn't answer his question right away, rushing a hair behind her ear and tossing her toys into a smaller bag again. They fell out, blah. Oh well. Zipping the zipper, she turned and grinned at the vampire, though he was busy with his laptop. "Name's Artemis." Her parents had been to Greece on their honeymoon, and had saw fit to name their daughter after the goddess of the hunt, of the moon. Honestly, but it was a neat name still.

Flipping her short hair, her hand tugged at something around her neck, tapping at a choker. Humming to herself, she felt his gaze on her. Still kneeling on the floor, her head turned to face him, gold-bronze eyes twinkling with mischievousness, and energy. Raising an eyebrow, Artemis watched as he turned away, her fingers toying around a...sliver rosary? Weren't werewolves supposed to be weak against the metal? Yes, and no. Only if the precious metal was in contact with them for a period of time, and that necklace wasn't silver, it was white-gold, platinum. It was a simple silver cross, but at it's center, was a bright red gem, with a crescent shaped blue on the top left corner on top of the red. Strange black designs were carved throughout the silver, but Artemis seemed to have been just using the rosary as a...well, worry bead, or something to play with.[/list:u]

He pulled out a neat set of daggers, flipping them through his fingers, before putting them away. Next to come out was a poker set. Yes, he liked playing poker. Flipping a chip through his fingers, he put the rest at the bottom of his dresser, then he moved to make his bed. Throwing the blanket over it, Then a pillow, he jumped up and laid back, letting his mind wander as he flipped the ship.

  • Her hands shuffling around her luggage, before pulling out a pair of headphones. Pulling them over her head, she hit the play button on her I-Pod, the music blaring in her ears, electrifying her senses. Awesome. Her head started to bob towards the music. Artemis was also the one to sing along with the music, but she didn't want to bother her roommate... Call her a music freak, she loved it, it was her soul.

And eye on Alex as he pulled out a set of daggers, raising an eyebrow. Strange hobby, but as long as he didn't use them on her, she was fine with whatever he kept. But still, what did he do, skin his victims? That was...slightly morbid. Turning back to her stuff, she continued to transfer her stuff from her baggage to the closet.

Pulling out her laptop, she looked at all the wires, seemingly confused, as the music played in her ears.[/list:u]

He flipped the poker chip into the air, the chip landing perfectly on its stack in the closet. Tucking the luggage bag in there well, before closing the door, he turned his head towards her, seeing her expression with the laptop. "You need some help with that?" His smile was tentative as he slowly walked to her.

He picked up a whiff of lycan again from her, but he threw the reaction of killing her to the side of his mind. He had to keep civilized right now. Gently taking the laptop from her, he moved to her desk, setting up by first untangling the wires, then plugging in the adapter and tucking the extra cord away behind the desk. Then he took the ethernet cord and plugged it in. "There, ask me if you need help connecting to the network."

  • "Hm...?" She asked, half hearing him over her music, tugging the electronic until it fell over her neck. Her tawny eyes watched him, as Artemis ran her fingers through her hair, a strange habit that she had. Poker? Hm, that was an interesting pastime. However, his question made her make a slight face, as she nodded. What was wrong it with him? She wasn't going to suddenly bite him; that was his job after all. The scent passed over her, making her face wrinkle slightly, too sweet, it burned her nose, smell of clotting, sweet death, but at least she kept her face more or less still. If they were going to share a room, might as well, you know, get use to the scent.

Her fingers released the laptop, watching him untangle the wires, raising an eyebrow at the places he plugged the wires in and such. Right... She had next to no idea how to do things like that; art and stuff where her forte, not computer science. "Wha...?" She asked, network? Tapping her forehead, she tried to recall how to do such a thing. "Alright, mind giving me a hand with connecting the network?"[/list:u]

He nodded, opening the laptop and waiting for it to load up. It was a fast thing to him. He was so use to using the new-age technology. Hell, he made some of the stuff on his computer. Screw Microsoft. If they say that they can live in a world without walls and fences, then why the hell do they need Windows and Gates?

He finished the network, setting it to connect everytime the laptop logged in. He turned to her with a small bow. "Finished. If you need anything else, feel free to ask." He got up and headed to his bed, laying down and resting.

  • Wow. That was easy. For him at least, too many wires, too many plugs. Ugh, just thinking about it gave her a headache. She couldn't tell the difference between the internet port and the printer one, and the only thing about computers she knew was...Well, how to use it. All the science things, just leave her out, defiantly. Tell her to write a software, and she would just probably draw out a cotton dress, or make one from scratch and write on it. Or something like that. See how hopeless Artemis was with mechanics?

Blinking, she grinned at him, "Thanks a bunch, Alex!" Running her fingers through her hair, she hummed to herself, plugging in her music player, before turning on a music program. Soon, music was pouring out of her laptop, as the werewolf, as she tossed, neatly, her stuff into the closet, and shut the door. Holding the jugging balls in her hand, she tossed them up, one...two...three...four...five. It was a strange hobby of her's, she would juggle. It was a great stress reliever, and a great way to catch attention.[/list:u]

He nodded halfway, thinking for a bit. But soon he got bored with that, and he levitated his laptop up to him, opening it on his stomach and starting to type rather frantically. He got about 1000 lines of code down in about 5 minutes, fingers going through the usual patterns. Rewriting one of his old programs. his hands slowed down as he hit some spots that he was changing, taking a moment to think of what he had to put in, Then putting it in.

It was a good half hour after that, with trial and error, and about 5000 lines of code later, that he was finished. Saving the project and turning his head towards her, he picked his voice up enough for her to hear it over her music. "Do you have a firewall on your laptop? I know Norton can be expensive."

  • While she was tossing around circus balls, her eyes watched as the laptop...Well, hovered, and headed towards it's owner, as she raised an eyebrow, tossing the spheres up with a steady rhythm, she had done this so many times to date. What was he going to do? And it seemed that the clicking of the keyboard was any indication, he was currently typing something. So, she was left jugging, as the music blared out, this time taking on a circus tone. Closing her eyes, she tossed them up, and caught them in her hands, before plopping down her bed. It took a while for her to lie down, but when she did, she tossed up the balls with ease, playing with them akin to when a cat plays with a ball of yarn.

So much for being a wolf.

Her legs tucked to her chest, her shirt riding up to her navel, reveling a section of skin, as she continued to juggle. Thirty minutes? Ha, no big deal, it was something she did when she was asleep! ...Well, not really, you get the main part of it. She head turned towards him, eyes lazy, but there was a feral like of look in them. "Firewall?" She inquired. "Hm...'Dunno." She told him snagging all the spheres in her fingers, before tossing them into their bag, zipping it with the appearance of a performed who had just finished their performance. Going towards her computer, she raised an eyebrow. "How do ya tell?"[/list:u]

"How long have you had your computer, and how many viruses have you gotten?" He moved to her computer, pulling up a open window and starting to type stuff in. His fingers were a flurry as he looked. "Jeez..." He whispered to himself. He got up and went to his laptop, pulling out the jump drive and taking it to her computer, loading it up.

"You need to watch where you go online." He said, fingers going at it again with the keyboard, typing in different command promps on CP. "You have some trojans."

  • Artemis tapped her chin, frowning slightly, trying to call up the memory. "Well..." She started, staring at her laptop, before raising an eyebrow. "...Two years...?" It sounded reasonable to her own ears; three seemed to big, and one didn't fit. "How many viruses...Um...I don't know. I had to take it to repairs four-five times I had it." And boy, did that take a nice chunk out of her paycheck, she have bought a ton of stuff, but it went towards keeping her laptop functional, so she guessed she couldn't complain. Her bronze-copper eyes watched him idly, his fingers a blur as he keyed in something that she couldn't be bothered to decode. Her ears caught a sound, though it sounded like a exhale of air, she was sure it was a word, at least, maybe a sigh of annoyance?

She wasn't the best in computer technology, so how was she supposed to know what was good for it besides not spilling anything on it? A friend of her's, a pixie, did so, and it blew up on her. Smart.

Her head tilted to the side, as she raised an eyebrow. Where she went online...? What was wrong with the websites she went on...? "What are Trogans? Something related to the horse in...You know, the battle where they hid inside the Trogan horse and snuck into the city?"[/list:u]

"Very same." He said softly, going through more key strokes to destroy them. "They make a connection between the host and contact computers, so they can send in viruses without being detected. Some of these are old, so i'm sure your computer is viral." He continued the file search, looking. "Yep. Lucky you that I was here."

His fingers went into a flurry as he downloaded code and typed more on another screen, hitting enter at least 50 times that minute. "You could have lost your computer there, be careful what sites you go to. Some download cookies and viruses without permission."

  • Raising an eyebrow; who knew computer viruses had their roots in mythology, Artemis watched as his fingers beat out a pattern onto the keyboard, hitting those buttons in some kind of order to...hopefully delete what was harmful on her computer. But after all those years; didn't any of her computer maintenance people ever suggested to her that she should...well, go and get something to protect her damned laptop? Maybe...Maybe they were just trying to swindle more money out of her that way. Or maybe they didn't have time to warn her. She was usually in and out of the shop; leaving a wad of cash for the repairs, and they were always busy with someone or another. "Ah...I see." Some of it did make sense... To her at least. Grinning, "Lucky that I have a bloodsucker for a roommate?" She said, but the werewolf was teasing.

Curling up on her bed, she watched him with half interested eyes, before nodding. "Really?" That was strange. When did art sites and random information sites screw with your computer? "Thanks." She frowned, "What sites do I need to look out for?"[/list:u]

"No sites after that installation." He said, pulling out his jump drive. He ignored the comment before and went over to his bed, plugging the jump drive back in. "Your computer is completely safe now." His eyes stayed on his computer screen. Her jabs had stung, and he wasn't feeling up to small talk now.

  • No sites after that installation? Just what did he do to her computer, turn it into...into... a supercomputer? A bit of an exaggeration there, no doubt, but still, he was warning her before, and now she didn't need to worry? Sweet! Artemis clapped her hands together; almost like an overexcited child at the prospect. Seriously; it was a blessing that he did this for her, truly luck that he was helping her! The werewolf and vampire feud had come to a...more or less close a hundred years ago, but thousands of years of anger and hatred didn't dissolve that easily, nor quickly. Still, Alex was a pretty good person.

...Even if he wasn't talking much anymore.

Did those jabs hurt? Tapping her chin, the werewolfess wondered if she should apologize...But decided not to; it would have been weird if she did; it wasn't her personality, besides, maybe in time he would know she was just kidding around. Shrugging her shoulders, the girl flopped back onto her bed, staring at her ceiling for a moment...for a while... before the music on her headphones playing, she fell asleep.[/list:u]

He typed on his laptop for a long time. But soon, he looked out of the window, and he saw that the sun was about to come up. So he quickly shut his laptop down and put it back on his desk, before closing the blinds completely and throwing the blanket over him, his heart shutting down so he would rest through the day.
