The Premise

Resources are a finite thing and in the distant future as it became increasingly clear that the planet Earth was going to exhaust those assets man turned towards space for a solution. Privately owned entities, some of the wealthiest corporations in the world pinned their financial hopes to the distant stars. The payoffs would take generations to play out, but these titans of industry and commerce could afford the risk of associated with such an investment. State of the art facilities, and some recommissioned projects embarked on voyages into the depths of space in search of riches to exploit.

Cynosure (the property of Divinity Inc.) is one of the most distant mining operations currently in existence. Located beyond the limits of Pluto, Cynosure operates in the void of space along the fringes of a mineral rich sea of asteroids. Now it costs a lot of money, consumes a lot of resources to keep a station like Cynosure running. Which means one thing. Cynosure is very profitable.

So when daily transmissions that took nearly a month to bounce their way from satellite to satellite on their way to Earth fell silent there was obvious reason for concern. Not only was that station a massive profit machine, but it housed some of the most expensive equipment at work right now in the depths of space. Of particular interest is a Replicator, something that few people outside of those rooted in the upper echelons of wealth could ever hope to have access too. It's able to mend wounds, complete complex surgeries, and if the raw material is available it's capable of reconfiguring a human body in exact detail while uploading a memory log (if available) into the synthetic brain of a new awakened android.

So, yeah, Divinity Inc. would like that jaw dropping expensive piece of equipment back in one piece at the very least.

That's why when day two came and went Divinity Inc. reached out to a company called Forge, a small but well respected mercenary and reconnaissance organization with ties to plenty of spaces riskiest operations. Fortunately, Forge had a team heading out towards that area on job to deal with some problematic bandits that had been plaguing well known trade routes. A small team would be selected from that group and break off to make their way to Cynosure in an effort to discover the stations currently unknown fate and retrieve the Replicator if Cynosure itself was deemed a loss by its parent corporation.

What I'm Looking For
Ideally I'm looking for a modest group of players numbering around three at the most. I'll leave the general makeup of the group to be decided by the players although I am looking for a more female lean in regards to ratio. A strong paragraph at the least is to be expected from anyone who would like to take part. If your interested, I encourage you to state so here on this thread.

What To Expect
giphy.gif

In short, an alien monster prowls Cynosure now. This creature will be based off of the Xenomorph's of the Alien franchise. They'll share similarities, but for the purposes of an erotic adventure they'll also have some obvious differences. So expect themes of horror, nonconsensual situations, potential oviposition, and other optional dark fates that are totally up to individual tastes and preferences. Players are of course welcome to work out whatever sorts of dynamics might exist between their own characters, of course.

If you're reading over this and find it intriguing feel free to drop a message below. Your welcome to include what sort of character you think you'd be interested in playing as well any other pertinent information you may care to add. Once we have a proper character thread established and an OOC place to chat we can address any issues and share
whatever thoughts we might have about the story in general.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who might be interested. Thanks!

Thanks for the interest. MxM isn't a dynamic that I have any personal interest in. Still, best of luck with your upcoming move. Ugh, I hate moving.

I'm considering playing the cold blooded 'company' woman from Divinity implanted with the Forge crew. She is willing to spill every drop of Forge blood to protect her company's investment. Unwilling to risk her own neck, she might make use of the Replicator for a duplicate to use as bait...or worse.

@LeaT I could envision a role of that sort working well in the structure of things. She might not have to be implanted, but could simply be thrust into the team when the Forge task force arrives at the Station prior to the small group being dispatched to Cynosure. As for the idea of the Replicator I hadn't consider using it in that manner. Kind of like the idea though and I could see that sort of thing creating a clone with a blank slate that can be filled in with a variety of "pre-programmed" rules of behavior.

Also, consider this a bump.

I'm really interested in this! Do you have any posting expectations? I'm not sure on a character just yet, but the first thing that comes to mind is a David 8 type of android who tends to the Cynosure operations?

I haven't really put to much thought into posting expectations other then being able to provide at least a good meaty paragraph. Ideally I'd like to see everyone be able to contribute a minimum of one reply a week just to keep the story moving if we hit lulls in availability. As for the David 8 android character I'm not sure that would completely work just because I intended to have the full arrangement of players arriving together via a shuttle and coming into Cynosure with no knowledge of what they're walking into. That said, I'm not adverse to letting people play side characters that could really add a nice touch to the story at large and something like the android you mentioned would fit superbly into that frame work.

Ah, okay. I'll continue to think on a character then! I can swing a post a week, though.

I'd seen this thread beforehand, and I'm glad to see it getting more traction this time around! I'm rather interested in participating within this RP. I haven't got too many ideas for characters, but one that rings out to be reasonable would be a tech specialist. Someone who's there to make sure the tech is in working order before any transport happens, as well as trying to find other useful tech left aboard the Cynosure.

The Replicator comes first and foremost, of course, but that's no reason to not try and get as much tech off of Cynosure as possible. She could also be sent there to evaluate whether Cynosure is an irreparable loss, or something to be worked on, of which I am sure it will be apparently the former, when the xeno is encountered.

I'm just going to share a few thoughts, feel free to expound or ignore as you desire. I'm excited to see some interest coming together either way.

I want to confess that I haven't seen all the Alien movies so I'm a bit out of my depth. But I could see my character having a David 8 type android as something of her personal assistant, so she would arrive with mine, rather than be tending the station at the start.

@Black_Out Is it your intent to play a more generic 'squad' of the muscle types that will also be the cannon fodder for the creature? Maybe a main (or 2) for more intimate scenes?

@Ironuyh The tech specialist could either be part of the Forge squad or sent by Divinity along with my character to provide the specialized knowledge of the station.

@LeaT That's a workable solution so long as the idea works for @jvniper I'm perfectly fine with her android character being a personal assistant of sorts to your own.

@Ironuyh A tech specialist is a perfect fit and it probably would be better to have her be part of the Forge task force since conceptually they're the bulk of what is meant to be a small group sent to Cynosure to investigate.

As for me filling out the roster with side characters I'm fine with playing what's needed although I wouldn't mind having one more character in play, ideally a male soldier who's part of the Forge ranks. So we'll keep a slot open for one more and see if we can lure a male lead into the story.

Howdy Guys; I would be down to play a Male Soldier who is part of an on-station security detail or just attached to the Station for Logistical/Transport purposes, if you guys have space for that.

Yeah, the engineer would probably need to be from Forge, given some sort of briefing by the company woman, since there'd be no reason for the mercenary to know the ins and outs of what is there and how best to preserve it elsewise.

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring, but I will need some time to contemplate a character.

Well I think we have our roster filled. @xanaphia take your time, I'd suggest taking up the role of some Forge member.

I'll be out for the day but hopefully tonight I can get a character thread and OOC thread setup so we can move this along.

That sounds great! Now Divinity has two entities protecting their investment for the price of one, lol.

Character Profiles are set up now. Feel free to follow the link. Cynosure Character Profiles

As for my own character I'm considering playing as the pilot of the vessel that brings our merry band to Cynosure. Which would make him part of the Forge team.

Ironyuh had to unfortunately withdraw. What's that mean? We've got an open spot to fill, that's what it means. Ideally looking for a male character to fill the shoes of a mercenary with Forge, or perhaps a medical officer because every team needs a medical officer, don't you think?

If your interested in joining up just post so here. We're looking for people able to post at least once a week and that can keep in touch with the rest of the group in the ooc chat. Story is just starting up so it's a perfect time to join in. Any questions, feel free to ask them here or shoot me a DM.

Just another friendly little bump before the big server switcheroo. For those of you looking for a group to join we've got a spot or two to fill yet.

@Fandomizer any idea on what sort of character you might want to have join the crew? @TheCorsair feel free to jump in and say hey in the ooc chat and get your character profile in when you've got a chance. We'll be looking to jump start the thread then as soon as the server move is completed.
