As Genwyn sat down at her laptop, she tucked a few strands of hair out of her face. She felt exhausted from the day she'd had at school; the drain of the required socializing and studying doing quite the number on her. Looking at her laptop, she saw the icon in the top right of the screen, along with a few pings from her instant messenger. "Where does she find the energy to play these games right after school? Am I just that out of shape, mentally?" She asked herself. There were the usual messages, asking when to expect her on. Her twin sister's screen name continued to flash, as if beckoning her to reply sooner rather than later. Opening the messenger, the effort feeling like metal grating on metal, Genwyn tapped out a quick message before standing up to get ready for the evening. She'd have a long evening of gaming ahead, that was for sure, given her sister's appetite for the online gaming space.
"I'll join you in a few. Need to go rid myself of the dread of school." She said, buying herself at least ten minutes to gather her bearings before settling into another lengthy MMORPG session.
How long had she been playing this game with her sister? A few months? The thought filtered through her mind a for a bit as she recounted the details. Changing out of the more alluring, multicolored top, Genwyn settled for something a bit more comfortable: a white t-shirt that was a size too big, hanging comfortably over her shoulders and down to her thighs. With a light stroke of her fingers over her cheek, making sure that the dark circles under her eyes weren't too heavy. She wouldn't let her sister keep her up all night again playing this game.
If her twin knew it was her playing the game with her, Genwyn doubted she'd continue. She'd divulged enough information to let her know that she wasn't a guy, and that she lived in the nearby area. It was a kind of test, to see if her sister was naive enough to try and meet up with strangers online. Even with their parents giving her all the warnings, Genwyn was a little afraid that, even though her twin was 18, she'd end up a statistic on a news channel.
With her "gaming" face on, Genwyn sat down in front of her laptop and booted up the MMO, a game by the name of Legend of Dagger Heights. It was a standard MMORPG, with plenty of grinding. Its biggest bonus was that it was a true free-to-play game, with subscriptions and in-game purchases limited to cosmetics and minor boosts. Subscribing even put you in a special league of people that were specifically subscribers only, to keep the game fair for everyone who couldn't afford to pay anything into the game.
"I'm at a the guild hall when you want to go questing." Genwyn sent to her twin, taking a drink of water as she lightly tapped her foot against one of the legs of her desk.
