Adella walked through the long stone hallway, her guards on either side of her and her attendants trailing behind. She was clad in a deep emerald green dress, studded with onyx and a black leather trim. Green was her power color and black was its compliment. The princess wore a black steel crown with opal and onyx leaves. Her jet black hair was neatly coild into an elaborate style, jewels like emerald and onyx were weaved into it. The princess was an opulent and fair-skinned young woman of 20. She was a master of earth, cold and darkness, hence her affection for the jewels that represented the elements. Most people in her kingdom were only skilled with one or two elements in the arcane arts. Adella was a master of three. Soon, she'd be a master of five, once she managed to learn fire and water. However, fire clashed with her and disagreed with her because of her affinity for earth. The spirits of fire have fought against her, but she would master them, whether they wanted to or not. She had to, for her kingdom's sake.
For ten years, her kingdom was in a bloody and vicious war with an opposing kingdom of warriors and knights. Despite her people's skills in the old ways of magic and divine rituals, they were losing ground.
To avoid complete annihilation and death, Adella was forced into an agreement to marry the prince of her enemy kingdom and to unite both under their marriage. Adella wasn't too fond of this idea, but her father was sickly and Adella couldn't risk him dying and being her being deposed. So, despite her objections, she was to marry. Adella held her head high as she entered the throne room of her enemy. It was a large, warm-colored room. As opposed to her throne room, which was decorated with silver and iron and her father's jewels of rubies, onyx, peridots and amethysts. It was cold and opulent. This room was inviting and reflected a kinder king and a merciful court.
Bowing before the king and his son, Adella presented herself to the court.
"Your Majesties, I am Adella Belladonna Delilah Arphere. I am pleased and humbled by your invitation and your willingness to negotiate peace with my kingdom. Thank you for your hospitality and accept my gift of rare Fae silver. It is good for weapons and shields."
An attendant presented a jeweled box of silver to the king and his son, bowing humbly.
