The guarded gates leading to the forbidden forests of Rhythia was a place Senan both dreaded and yearned. For a year, he dedicated his life to training and working to afford the permit and ability to enter such a place. His younger brother, a troublemaker but a good man, was framed for a rape and murder and sent here as punishment nearly a year ago to this day. Senan knew he was innocent, but a noble’s word against a farmer’s made it hard to sway the courts in his favor. The day of his brother’s sentencing, Senan sold everything he owned and started the process to try and follow.
He had been a solider, but retired early to help his brother with the farm - Senan was tall, over six feet in height, and toned from years of military training. However, the plate armor and strength in numbers meant little in a forest wild with danger. Stealth and being able to defend on his lonesome was a necessity. He typically kept his hair long, but now cut his dusty-brown hair so he would be harder to grab by assailants. His piercing, blue eyes had a cutting determination as he handed his permit over to the guards at the front. Senan heeded no warning of theirs and any attempt to dissuade him from his decision was met with a stoic, “you will let me in.”
He had prepared well for the journey. He had several daggers hidden on his person in addition to the swords on each of his hips. Two more were affixed to the bag on his back, which was packed with rations, medicines, and a bedroll to help him weather what was to come. As he entered the threshold into this new place, he felt his stomach turn uncomfortably in worry, but steeled his heart with the determination that he would make it back out of here one day, but this time not alone.
Senan knew what he must do first- find shelter and water. And so, amidst the sounds of beasts barking and hunting in the far distance, Senan began to stealthily make his way through, attempting to find a place he could achieve his survival needs.
