Trevor Clarke sat in his car, listening to the radio as he heard his "friends" talking over the radio. "I've knocked out the back door. UV lights are in place. Let's get moving!" Devon shouted over the radio to the others. Trevor, meanwhile, remained behind as the one to act as backup for them. While he had listened in on several infiltration missions, Trevor had never been taken on a proper hunt. Perhaps the others didn't trust him enough yet, as he was the newest to join the group. If he were being honest, Trevor preferred it this way as long as possible. The last time that he had met a vampire, it was not in the best light. The blood thirsty creature had lunged at him, only stopped by a quick blow from one of his friends. It was then that he was pulled into the reality that he was now facing. Vampires, werewolves, vengeful spirits, the whole lot were real.

That had been roughly a year ago. In that year's time, Trevor had done what he could to try and prepare himself for whatever might be coming his way, but that was like cramming for a test that was dropped on you the next day. Add to that the fact that Trevor had never been the ideal student, it was a recipe for disaster if someone were to depend on him. Most of the books that he had were handwritten notes from other hunters that were incomplete at best. While he had done his fair share of cleanup and documenting things, Trevor knew that it would come, soon enough, that he'd have to deal with the monsters of the night just like the rest of the hunters in his group. Soon enough, the radio went silent as the group tended to purging the nest.

There came the occasional chatter from the radio, with Trevor pulling up his transmitter and talking into it. "No sign of any authorities. All clear on the street." Trevor said. Settling back against the driver's seat, Trevor shut his eyes. He felt like he'd overdressed for the occasion, wearing a thick black jacket, white t-shirt and black jeans with combat boots. It was his usual hunt attire, with an assortment of necessary items stored away in several pockets. The warmth of the interior of the beat up white car was calming, threatening to lull him to a deep sleep. He wasn't sure if he'd fallen asleep, but Trevor was certain that more time had passed as he opened his eyes, the sound of the radio drawing his attention. "Shit! We missed a few! FU-" Yep, that was the sound of a crunch. "Trevor! Time to start your internship!" Another familiar voice called out. There were sounds of metal, gunshots, and feral cries before the radio went silent.

"Great. Glad I came prepared, I guess." Trevor said, stepping out of the car. Looking up, he could see the sky slowly gaining color. It was still at least an hour or two before the sun would rise, but it would help to keep the vampires inside while they regrouped. Drawing out a silver blade and a gun, Trevor looked around. They'd picked the worst location to have a nest. It was so far away from most residential neighborhoods that there was nearly no foot traffic. Hardly any traffic meant it was harder to find food, right? Looking toward the abandoned, condemned apartment building, Trevor took a step down the alleyway.

He rounded the corner behind the back of the apartment complex, looking for the placement of the UV lights that they had put up. The power had been cut to them, with smears of blood here and there. No wonder some of them had managed to get away. As he stepped near the back of the apartment complex, the brick structure jutting up from the earth and blending into the darkness of the sky, something caught his attention. Raising his gun in his right hand, Trevor called out to whatever had made the noise. "Don't come any closer!" Trevor shouted, flicking on the flashlight on his gun with a tap of his fingertip. Shining it through the alleyway, trying to will the light to bend around various garbage and refuse, Trevor looked until he saw a body. It was definitely not human, but it didn't look like he'd need to be using either his gun or knife on them today. They looked on the verge of death...
