Criminal Record: N/A

Weapons: Smith & Wesson Model 36, hairpin knives, butterfly knife, brass knuckles-she has small fists-she’d rather not break her knuckles, thanks...

Personality: On the surface, Annamaria seems timid and easily spooked. In many ways, she can be, but don’t back her into a corner--She’s very much her father’s daughter when backed into a corner, and she’s had to prove it on more than one occasion when men thought that single lady with seeming no family meant whore. Some of them are still looking for teeth or balls. She can play the part of arm candy, but she’s not a whore.

Background: Annamaria was brought up a proper Catholic lady-Catholic school all throughout, church every Sunday and holiday, Confession at least once a week. It was often commented on she was the perfect daughter. Lots of social occasions and charities. There was lots of talk about all the good boys in church who’d make her a fine husband. She wasn’t sure she wanted to be a housewife...And once people found out what the family business was--She doubted those upstanding, sterling boys would be all that interested in marrying into it. If nothing else, they’d be the butt of jokes, or get dragged into trouble by her siblings...She doubted that was a fate any man would want.

Still, she thought there was one boy she might like. She’d started seeing him, and he invited her to go away with him to Europe. He was going to be an ambassador, and Annamarie wanted to marry him and be an Ambassador’s wife...If you were going to be a housewife-it should be one that saw a lot of the world, right? She was going to go tell her father--But the noises that came from the study...She hadn’t heard sounds like that before--She rushed to see what was going on, only to find her father beating her beau bloody...She heard her father shout about how he should have known better than to talk about his baby like that-She had nonidea what had been said, but it had terrified her enough that she backed out of the room, ran to her room, grabbed what valuables were hers, packed a fast bag, and ran away.

She hopped on the first train, and didn't look back for weeks, when she sent a postcard from Canada, letting her mother know she was well. She wasn't too proud to take what honest work she could get as she traveled her way back across the border. She eventually found her way to Los Angeles, and started working at a club. One of those fancy joints her dad always talked about being too swanky for regular folk where all the well-to-do’s and politicians liked to meet up. She met a lot of powerful men. And when one of the singers didn’t show up to work because she eloped with some politician’s son--Annamaria--who had come to be known as Anna Montrose--was told to get up on the stage and sing a few songs soon gained a number of admirers...She only ever sang in church…

Apparently she was very good at it. Her salary went up, and the gifts came rolling in. She was offered bigger and better spots all around the city, then up and down the coast...Each time she knew she was leaving a city, she’d send her family a postcard, letting them know she was alive and well-but nothing else. Sometimes, she’d wish a sibling or one of her parents a Happy Birthday, and send a gift of some sort, if a little belated.

She started to play clubs in Vegas, she even got to sing with popular singers, starlets, writers, and actors...Not to mention a number of politicians from across the world. It was one of the pictures with an actress taken at the club she was contracted to play that made its way into the paper and eventually to her father. Her father made his way to her, found her, and talked her into coming back to New York after explaining what had happened with her ex-beau...He’d gotten drunk and said disgusting things about her...Her father had still stepped over the line. There was no need for all of that...But...Her family missed her, and he agreed to give her the space she needed…

So, she made her way back to New York, under contract as a singer for The Five Spot. She’s only been back for a month, and she’s not sure more than her father knows she’s back in New York, taking up one of the opulent units at 1107 Fifth Avenue...So far, no one has recognized her as Annamaria Muscano-but only as Anna Montrose, the name she’s made for herself.

Other:
Anna only stands at 5’0”

Despite all of her suitors and all the rumored romances and scandals, she’s still a virgin. Whether because of her Catholic upbringing, the fact she hasn’t met the right man yet, or that if she had she was too afraid of what her father and male relatives might do to him is anyone’s guess.

She loves chocolate, and hates pickles.

She speaks English, Italian, Latin, French, and Spanish...Spanish was picked up in her time traveling.

She’s not as racist as others of her class and race--she’s seen a bit too much of the world and met too many wonderful people to be racist and bigoted.

She doesn’t smoke often, but when she does, it’s clove cigarettes.

Criminal Record: N/A

Weapons: Smith and Wesson Model 10, baton, .308 Winchester from his sniper days when things get sticky

Personality: Irreverent comes to mind when people give their opinion on Greg. He doesn’t take many things seriously on the surface. He’s quick to laugh and poke fun, and he’s quick with a sarcastic comment almost always. The few things he does take seriously he can be downright vicious about about, but overall-friendly with an edge comes to mind when the man is mentioned.

Background: He grew up in Boston, the younger son of a banker and his wife. He wasn’t the most studious, and he didn’t want to go into working at the bank like his elder brother and father, nor did he care to join the church or become a builder...So, he joined the military. There, he trained as a sharpshooter, what other militaries called a sniper...And he was good at his job...When he returned, the boring life of a veteran didn’t appeal to him, so he joined the police force, and eventually was transferred up to New York, bouncing around the burrows a bit until he came to be part of Manhattan PD as a detective. His Captain likes him because he doesn’t shy away from the mafia family drama, and he also doesn’t make it his personal crucible to go after the families---You know...A nice balance.

Name: Mary Morrigan Hughes

Sex: Female

Age: 26

Date of Birth: February 14, 1924

Place of Birth: Queens, New York

Affiliation: The Hughes, eldest daughter

Relationships: Engaged to Alphonso Muscano’s eldest son and as for familial relations she has somewhat strained relationships with all three of her siblings especially her sisters who she finds difficult to relate to (Ardkill in particular). In the “friends” category she can claim Annamarie Muscano and Astrid Kowalski as two of them.

Role: Tries to act as the Hughes family’s voice of reason but it hardly works.

Appearance:
FTmgmf.jpg

Criminal Record: None.

Weapons: None, refuses.

Personality: Morrigan is a very sensitive soul, brought up catholic and raised to be a lady. Though sensitive you would never know it as she hides her tenderness behind a pair of blue-green eyes that refuse to cry or even tear up in public. She fears she’s developing a stony impenetrable facade like her mother that’s easy to mistake for apathy. It’s simply just protection worn to save face amidst life’s little betrayals and disappointments yet people find it hard to tell the difference. For her mother it was the infidelities that plagued her marriage which she had to “pretend” against, for Morrigan it’s the anticipation of them plus the knowledge that the man she loves is more than likely as monstrous as her father was though she refuses to discuss it with him.

Besides this, one word that seems to describe Morrigan accurately is sexy. The girl oozes sensuality in a way that makes women tend to hate her right off the bat and most men to fear her and that added to what comes off as a standoffish demeanor and straight to the point way of speaking can easily intimidate people until they get to know her but those who do find it hard to let her go.

Morrigan is of a classy variety and has developed what can come off as a pretentious demeanor and has slotted herself into the sexy Marilyn-esque pin-up, ultra feminine category to survive life, a character she has crafted organically in order to differentiate and distance herself from her father and his ilk.

Background: If one had ever asked Sean Hughes about his firstborn Mary Morrigan, Sean would no doubt have beamed proudly and called her “daddys little girl” followed by something akin to...”still makin’ me prouder than a bee drownin’ in honey.” And that was good. That was how Morrigan wanted her father to feel about her. It was for the best that she had pulled the wool over his eyes. Fact was though she wasn’t his little girl (in the affectionate sense that is) and she hadn’t been ever since she was around eleven years old when she’d snuck and seen him blow the face off of old man Snyder McHenry in their basement one rainy, cold night. Daddy never did glance over to see her there peering through the shadows all meek like and terrified. She’d witnessed everything: the crying, the begging, the bang, the aftermath when Colin and Patrick had sawed up the body into transportable bits, even the laughter over the disgusting jokes they made at the dead mans expense postmortem. After that she just couldn’t view daddy the same way...or life for that matter.

Other: Daddy, before he died liked to call her Mary. Of course, it was her name but the sound of it coming out of his mouth made her queasy and so she started going by her middle name in high school until Morrigan just became who she was to everyone who knew her. She was Morrigan to her friends, Morrigan to her co-workers at the Lacy Pear Apparel and Lingerie, Morrigan to her family (besides her parents who refused to call her by her middle name), but most importantly she was Morrigan to the man she was marrying, the man she tried her best not to fall for but had failed utterly and miserably.

Favorite Music: Orchestral: Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Tchaikovsky’s Valse Sentimentale, Mozart’s Lacrimosa etc.

Favorite Flowers: Lavender and Lilies

Favorite Wine: Cabernet Sauvignon

Favorite Luxury: Lingerie, heels and bubble baths

Secret Guilty Pleasure: Cigarettes (Lucky Strikes) and every once in a blue moon a cigar.

Name: Molly Siobhán Hughes

Sex: Female

Age: 23

Date of Birth: June 1 1927

Place of Birth: New York City

Affiliation: The Hughes

Relationships: Astrid Kowalski (Close friend, room mate and partner)

Role: Photographic journalist.

Appearance:
814RRsuwZeL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

Criminal Record: 2charges but no convictions for possession of illegal substances, 1 charge but no conviction for lewd behaviour.

Weapons: Switchblade.

Personality:Curious and reckless.

Background: Molly has just finished NYU with a degree in journalism and photography in the hope of pursuing a career as a photographic journalist focused on the great city's cultural output and maybe one day become the first female editor in chief of The New Yorker but there was of course much that would have to change in the world before that could happen.

She is a full scale lesbian and hasn't worn a skirt or a dress since she was six years old, after a stubborn refusal to wear any clothes at all if the options were the aforementioned garments. She dresses like a man and with her hair cut short and small breasts she is often mistaken for a man by those who do not know her, something she occasionally enhance by adding some theatrical make up such as a fake moustache. She has also been known from time to time to wer a pair of roled up socks in her trousers to give herself a more male-looking crotch.

Theme song: Billie Holiday - Dream of Life

Name: Thomas Sean Hughes

Sex: Male

Age: 25

Date of Birth: April 5, 1925

Place of Birth: Hughes family home, New York

Affiliation: The Hughes

Relationships:
Father: Sean Hughes
Mother:
Older Sister: Mary Hughes
Twin Brother: Ardkill Hughes
Younger Sister: Molly Hughes

Role: Hitman/Unofficial heir of the family

Appearance:
65c582047677b0f6d49383274c0a9185.jpg

Criminal Record: 1 Count of Vandalism, and 1 Count of Aggravated Assault

Weapons: Primarily a Colt M1911, occasionally something...bigger, if need be.

Personality: Unlike his twin, and his family as a whole, Thomas is a very quiet and shy individual. Tommie has always been one of the most empathetic members of the family, and is almost always more concerned with their well being than with his own. Because of this, Thomas is often very sullen and downtrodden, despite his generally positive outlook on life. Thomas feels trapped by his circumstances. He absolutely despises killing, and is actually quite poetic and learned, but his time in the army changed him forever, and he doesn't know anything else besides killing.

Background:
Unlike his twin, Thomas was groomed from an early age to inherit the family business. But from the start, he wasn't like his father. Sean was a man with a firey willpower, and a temper to match. He was gentle, shy, and empathetic, and quite intellectual. He taught himself to read over the period of several years, and would read everything he could get his hands on. But he was a Hughes, and the Hughes' always look after their own. Thomas was convicted of two crimes, both in defense of his family, and he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty for them. At the age of just nineteen, Thomas was drafted into the Army, in preparation for the D-Day invasion of 1944. He volunteered in the 101st Airborne, and participated in Operation Overlord, the disatrous Operation Market Garden, and the Battle of the Bulge. To cope with the war, Thomas turned to his faith, and began praying for both his comrades and for his enemies. It didn't help. No matter how hard he prayed, or how steong his faith was, there was still suffering. The final straw was the march into Germany. He and his company were ordered to liberate a concentration camp, though it was already abandoned, making it more of a cleanup job. But what Thomas saw finally made him question if there really was a God. He'd never seen people so wretched. They were held together with nothing but skin and muscle. There were piles of bodies the size of small hills, and the acrid stench of burning bodies could be smelled for miles. And just like that, he was given a few medals, a pat on the back, and a ticket home. Thomas couldn't let go. After all he'd seen, all he'd done, killing was all he was good at. So, he started taking hits. And do you know what scared him the most? He was good at it. Damn good. And he almost enjoyed it. Almost. After a while, Thomas just became...numb to it all. He wanted it to end, but he couldn't. What would his father think? He was almost relieved when he discovered his sister's little affair. On one end, a pointless decades long conflict was coming to an end. On the other...those Italian bastards couldn't think that one wedding would make all the deaths go away, right? It doesn't matter if they can't fight one another, there was bad blood between the Hughes and the Muscano's. And with Sean gone, there's a power vacuum, one ripe for filling...

Other:
Thomas is a virgin, though he's had a few relationships that never went anywhere.

Name: Ardkill “calico” Hughes
Deadname: Brigid

Sex: trans man

Age: 25

Date of Birth: April 5th 1925

Place of Birth: New York

Affiliation: The Hughes

Relationships:
Father: Sean Hughes
Mother:
Older Sister: Mary Hughes (left over resentment with her being the "good daughter")
Twin Brother: Thomas Hughes (protective of)
Younger Sister: Molly Hughes (encouraging of her queerness, but not particularly aware of the nuances)
we spoke of a romantic relationship with Gregory, but should probably follow up

Role: Enforcer, he’s more threatening than dangerous and that’s not because he’s not dangerous.

Appearance: Bobbi Salvör Menuez
cdda8be91c16a849c3af616b75a1fde809-12-17-bobbi-encounter-lead.jpg Capture.PNG Capture2.PNG

Criminal Record: a few cases of assault

Weapons: butterfly knife, he doesn't like guns

Personality: If his queerness didn’t disqualify him from inheriting the family, his hot headedness, unpredictability, and generally tendency for being manipulated do. A ruthless fighter who obviously enjoys being on either end of violence too much. He even was dubbed Calico for the number of bruises he picks up. Ardkill supresses his feelings by filling his life with action. You can’t be sad if you are too busy think. He’s what we would know as bisexual with a preference for men, but has almost exclusively dated women for dysphoria reasons, but perhaps with his recent transition to male that could change. He puts on a play of being a dom/top, but is really just a brat that needs someone to put him in his place.

Background: Some people think of Ardkill a tomboy who never grew out of it. He was a rough and tumble kid, who was always where he shouldn’t be. Ardkill always got along best with his twin, Thomas, When they were younger Ardkill would mimic Thomas as the beginnings of his gender identity. Ardkill no longer want to be Thomas but still considers his twin the platonic ideal of a man. He fully intended to follow his brother to war but wasn’t about to be some nurse, wear a skirt, and kiss booboos better, so he didn’t end up going. instead he spent most of his time fucking around new york doing odd jobs for the family. Despite his best efforts there are people who respond better to him because of his identity. Well at least until they see him in action.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Name: Alphonso “AJ” Muscano, Jr.

Sex: M

Age: 27

Birthdate: July 16, 1923

Affiliation: Muscano Crime Syndicate

Relationships: Muscano family, engaged to Mary Morrigan Hughes

Role: Eldest Muscano son

Appearance:
82EFFF3D-CE69-454E-81E4-7D4C5160175B.jpeg

Criminal Record: Assault, battery, miscellaneous misdemeanors

Weapons: Colt M1911 pistol, Schrade-Walden switchblade knife

Personality: Hotheaded and brash, fiercely loyal to his family and friends. Plays the massively overprotective eldest brother of his youngest sister, possibly to a fault. Very well-spoken despite the heavy Brooklyn accent

Background: A third generation American, Alphonso Junior, or AJ, was born in Brooklyn, the first child born to Alphonso Muscano and his wife. Growing up with two younger siblings wasn’t an issue for him; what was the issue was the constant bullying at a young age. That is, until Papa Muscano showed little AJ how to use his fists instead of his words. Then he became the bully, defending his younger siblings as they became old enough to start their schooling.

When Alphonso Senior took over as head of the family after his father’s death, AJ was plunged headfirst into the world of crime, earning him his first conviction at the young age of 17- assault and battery on a member of a rival family. He was then given a choice- either enlist in the army, or go to prison. He chose to enlist, and was sent to Fort Hamilton. There, he learned to use a gun, becoming a fair marksman with training, and was deployed on the Japanese front of the Second World War.

The life of crime came easy to the returning young Muscano, and it soon became known to him that there were two major families- his own, and the Hughes, an Irish family. And their feud was major; there has almost been all-out war between them over territory several times. AJ knew his part, as the eldest Muscano son... or so he thought.

His entire world changed when he met Mary, or as she liked to be called, Morrigan. He’d met her on the street, outside of either of the families’ territories, and fell immediately for the dark-haired beauty. It was only a matter of time before they were dating, though finding out she was a Hughes came as a bit of a shock. But he found that he loved her for her, not because of anything else.

Other: Knows how to play guitar and piano, and is quite skilled on both. He maintains a job at one of the Muscano cover ops (TBD), much to his fiancée’s chagrin (subject to change).

Name: Sofia Isabella Catherine Lucia Muscano (Sofie, Bella, Lucy)

Sex: Female

Age: 25

Date of Birth: February 2nd, 1925

Place of Birth: Manhattan, New York

Affiliation: Second oldest Muscano.

Relationships: Familialy? Probably could use some work. Romantically? Same. Friends? Valisse.

Role: The Family Loon

Appearance:

abCp1n.jpg

Criminal Record: 3 DUI’s but it was the battery charge committed against a cop that finally landed Sofie in front of a less than sympathetic judge who ordered a psychological evaluation which consequently led to her being sent to Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital for six months.

Weapons: Tiny pocket pistol and one sharp nail file.

Personality: Sofie is...eccentrically memorable. Depending on her mood which can fluctuate (especially when she doesn’t take her iproniazid like she should) she can come off as either fun-loving, playful, charming, brash, blithe, unaffected, tetchy, bitchy, sad, wistful, or anything in between. She’s clinically been diagnosed as having manic depressive illness.

Background: From what she remembers of it, Sofie’s childhood was wonderful. Her brother was her protector growing up, she remembers that at least keenly, her sister she only remembers in short flashes of memory that come and go but there’s a striking sentimental attachment there that she feels vividly. Her parents were what she likes to call good-bad people, she always loved them but she knows she gave them hell as a teenager but that’s only because her adolescent years gave her hell.

Sofie was a moody, disrespectful, rebellious teenager. Blasphemous. Hated church. Hated her catholic school. Hated the girls there, the nuns, the rules. She’d get in trouble all the time for smoking cigarettes and skipping classes. She got a reputation for being easy, a bad girl. When she was nineteen she got pregnant out of wedlock and tried to commit suicide but failed so the state gave her a mental health waiver for an abortion which was the most common way a girl got one back then in New York, you just had to try and kill yourself. No one in her family knows they just saw the aftermath. The drinking, the two car accidents from the drinking, the mood swings...Greystone. Greystone is why her memory is so bad. Shock treatment. Fun times. Now she takes medicine or she does most of the time when she “remembers” to.

Other: She’s short at 5’1.

She wears gloves in public. Huge collection. They hide the scars on her wrists.

Mainly called Sofie by her family she likes to introduce herself to people outside the family as either Bella or Lucy depending on whether or not she instantly judges the person on sight alone to be good people or bad people; Bella for the good ones, Lucy for the bad. It’s a little game she’s played for her own personal amusement since she was little and only very rarely are her split-second judgments later found to be incorrect.

Favorite Music: Blues and Jazz, specifically Billie Holiday

Favorite Flowers: Orchids.

Favorite Wine: Whiskey.

Favorite Luxury: A nice, big, juicy, mostly raw ribeye steak and on occasion a little Mary Jane.

Secret Guilty Pleasure: Walking around the house naked.

Criminal Record: n/a

Weapons: Colt M1911 - her father made sure she had it when she went off during the war, she still has it, and carries it on her person

Personality: While quiet like her husband at times, she has the charisma that he lacks, and passed the skill down to two of her three children. She did try with Sofie, but the girl didn’t seem inclined to practice the skill. Frannie is protective of her family, as her father found out when he made the mistake of attacking Alfonso when their children were younger. Vicious and vengeful, she was decisive in helping her husband dismantle and overthrow her father’s empire because of the danger her children were put into. Exacting, she has standards she holds herself and her family to, and she can be very displeased when they fall short of them.

Background: Born in Rome, Italy-Francesca was actually named and baptized by Pope Leo XIII. The darling of her family, she was raised with the best of schools and tutors. The first World War rolled around when she was a teenager, and she was allowed to go to school for nursing, and she worked as a nurse for the army the last two years of the war. After that, her family sent her to Italy to live with her great-grandparents and put her nursing skills to work for the family. When they passed, she visited with her grandparents for a couple of years, then went home…

That was when she met Alphonso Luca Muscano. He was working for her father, and he was a handsome man. Working as a nurse, then being left to her own devices while caring for her aging relations...Well, she certainly wanted to enjoy Al’s company. That enjoyment led to Francesca finding herself in the family way, and they were quickly married. It was soon enough after she learned of her condition that it was believed AJ was just a little early after the honeymoon. They were happy despite the Prohibition and the Depression. Al kept the family comfortable for the worst of it. They wanted for nothing, and Frannie made sure to do plenty of charity work with the church to show her thanks to God for providing her with such a resourceful husband. Even when he had to go to jail, she was loyal to her husband and their family…

After Al was released, and he took them to new heights of fortune that even she hadn’t experienced with her own family-her father did something stupid. That stupid thing put her children at work, and that was the moment that Francesca chose a side...She chose to be at Al’s side without any qualms or concerns for what his actions might do to her kin because her father had injured her husband and could have killed their children with his recklessness. She’d told Al everything she knew about her father’s networks that Al hadn’t been privy to, where he might go to hide to lie low, and Alphonso took over her father’s enterprises and empire, making it his own.

Still, outside that-she’s always been content to be his wife, and the mother to their children. She worked to make sure they looked presentable, had the best of food available, the best education, tutors for whatever interests they had, and unless they were sick-those kids never missed mass, something she’s always been proud of. She didn’t want them finding themselves in the family way and wanted to make sure they had a strong foundation in God.

Still, the Devil finds his way in into even a righteous family...At first, Sofie’s acting out...Then Anna’s running away...Now, AJ’s infatuation and insistence on marrying an Irish...That last one she was certainly disappointed in, but since Al Sr. didn’t forbid it, she was left no choice but to swallow her upset at the situation and put on a smile at the situation.

Other: speaks English, Italian, French, and Latin (a skill that was handy when there were men from various countries in hospital)

Criminal Record: None.

Weapons: Always carries a switchblade that she does not ever want to have to use.

Personality: Valisse hates nearly as fiercely as she loves and what she hates more than anything is injustice. She’s experienced racism, the violent ugliness of it and she tries hard to keep it from infecting her heart. Half romantic, half poet, she’s an idealist. She’s her grandfather’s little girl all grown up with his stories full of lessons he used to tell her inculcated in her heart and impressed upon her soul which she lets lead her steps for better or for worse. She’s a hard worker with a fiery temper and a philosophy that justifies her untamed ways.

Background: She came to settle in Spanish Harlem with her Grandfather after her sister died. They arrived on Ellis Island in ‘46 when Valisse was 23 years old and her Grandfather was 72. Her grandfather had a deep love for Puerto Rico but he hated the politics of it and had always seen something bright and shining in the idea of America and dreamt that one day he would go there with his family. Then his wife died of cancer, followed by Dina his daughter (Valisse’s mom) and Ivelisse his second-born granddaughter (Valisse’s sister) and he knew it was time. “Death tries to scare you. Don’t let it. They are alive in heaven right now watching us so let’s make them happy with what they see.” He told Valisse as they boarded the boat.

Grandfather may have been 72 but he was not hunched over, blind, senile or old in any sense of the word that mattered and so as soon as he set foot on American soil he began to work and Valisse worked beside him. They built a tiny diner where they cooked and baked foods from recipes brought from home in Spanish Harlem and for a second they were successful at it until someone burned down their livelihood along with several other minority owned businesses in the neighborhood in the middle of the night, the only thing left was a painted message left on a smoldering plank of wood “no dogs or Puerto Rican’s allowed”. After that, Valisse took a job working in a factory making coca-cola bottles to support her Grandfather until he died in ‘48.

Valisse began to model for a man named Guido Volera in ‘49 in order to supplement her income and it’s through him she met Sofie Muscano. Sofie reminded Valisse of her sister in all the wrong ways, the scars on her wrists for instance. When Sofie came out of the hospital Valisse was there for her and they became close friends, close enough that Sofie invited Valisse to be her date for her brothers wedding.

Other: Bilingual with a thick accent when she speaks in English, anger brings out her Spanish like no other.

Favorite Flowers: Honey Suckles.

Favorite Wine: Sangria.

Favorite Luxury: Limited income but probably Tequila.

Criminal Record: some drunken disorderlies when she first discovered her husband’s unfaithfulness, but that was many years ago. The police have been out for a few domestic disturbance calls, but they’re Irish-they get loud and people need to learn to mind their own business. What few bruises she might have sported, she made her husband pay for them tenfold in other ways.

Weapons: cane with a blade

Personality: If she likes you, she is warm and welcoming. If she doesn’t like you, she is cold and aloof. If she doesn’t know you, she’s civil until she decides one way or the other. If she hates you, she is just as likely to civilly shake your hand, poison you, or stab you in the stomach. She has a temper that can be icy cold or explosive.

Background: Born in Dublin, Deirdre had a rough upbringing. Things weren’t great when she was growing up. There was a boy who went back and forth between the States and Dublin-less than legal endeavors, but it was money-not many cared, so long as you tithed and went to confession. He started bringing her little gifts, and she adored them. They eventually married in Dublin, and he brought her over to the States with him. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was better than what she had in Dublin. And it seemed that each trip her husband made, they did a little better, moved up a little more...Their kids got to go to a nice Catholic School, and they got nicer houses...

Then she caught him with one of his doxies. That had been a fight...The twins had just been born and Deirdre had not handled the discovery well. Sean had ended up in the hospital-Dee had nearly gelded him...She’d just missed...And it meant he was able to give her two more children...Each time she discovered a new mistress, a new fight would break out. It went on for years...Sean would slap her around for not being happy being his wife while he had his tarts on the side, and she stabbed him or poisoned him just enough to keep him from dying...But he certainly wasn’t entertaining in mistresses when he was too busy hugging a toilet so he didn’t shoot himself up into space like one of those Jules Verne novels or in the hospital…

Probably wasn’t the best environment for the children, but she did love them. She did the best she could by them. Unfortunately, she couldn’t leave Sean. Her faith wouldn’t allow it, nor would her financial situation...So, she put up with him for the sake of their kids, and the fact she couldn’t take care of her family without the financial support. Her kids had her love, and she was sure Sean loved them in his own way…

When she woke up and discovered her husband hadn’t come to bed, she found him in the study...She knew she should feel guilty for the relief she felt. She had made sure there was a will for the finances...She and the children would be fine on that front...Everything else--really, it was for the boys to figure out. She was fine with going back to Ireland with them all and having a modest little living to make sure they wouldn’t have to work to survive...But...Mary had found herself a beau in her father’s enemies...Part of her wondered if it had been some sly rebellion on her part.

Still, they got through the funeral-Dee had enough sense to not wear a celebratory red...And now she has to make sure to not wear black to her daughter’s wedding...Perhaps she should wear the red in case the boys ignore the no-fighting rule and one breaks out. Easier to get the blood out of red or black than another color.

Other: Dee-Dee speaks Gaelic and accented English. The strong accent only comes out when she’s upset or angry, but usually it’s just a soft lilt.

Personality: A troubled youth Lars joined the clergy in the way some people join the army, with the expectation that it would give their life meaning. It only sort of worked. He found meaning in his work, but it didn't cure him of his less desirable tendencies. Criminal Record: None

Weapons: Browning Hi-Power

Personality: Melancholic and obsessive are the two words most would use to describe Roberto Romano. A soft-spoken reserved man, his erudite nature hides the vile wickedness that he possesses. A trait that has allowed him to climb the Muscano Family hierarchy with relative ease.

Background: The son of a fishmonger and a librarian, It was clear that Roberto Romano was a rather odd bird from childhood. Far more interested in sitting inside reading then playing stickball with the local kids, This gave him a reputation as a pushover, one that he had to struggle to overcome. After he dislocated the jaw of a school bully in a fight, he caught the eye of a few low level Muscano hoods who hired him as a runner ferrying small tidbits of news across the borough. He remained in this position for most of his teens but was upgraded to collection agent for the family’s Brooklyn extortion racket in his early twenties. By his mid-twenties, Roberto was in charge of the family’s entire extortion business in the burrough as well as a handful of whore houses he took meticulous care of.

It was around this time that Sofia Muscano first caught Roberto’s eyes. At first he was merely curious about her rebellious free-spirited nature but the calculated mafioso soon became moderately infatuated with her after her mysterious disapperance and return. Despite this affection, the pair remain distant partially because Roberto fears how it would be seen if people knew he was attempting to court her and partially because he fears upsetting the delicate balance her life seems to be in at the moment.
