And yes, ToWriterAndWander is a spelling area, but one made long ago and as I am stickler for uniformity, I now live with the shame of my fat fingers!

Master Roht was right all along - the Skriven were back and Dark Magic had returned.

As Master Rohts Grandson, Konrad Roht had always had his doubts. Master Roht was growing old and senile, could barely see or hear anything, but was convinced things were changing - he could smell it on the wind. One thing for sure was that the Skriven really did smell - their decayed and decaying stench often gave them away before they were seen!

Konrad had never encountered a Skriven before. No one he knew had either - only his Grandfather, who was ancient in age and well past the age he should have been entombed in the Family Crypt. The Rohts were still Guardians, of course, one of several families granted land in the North in return for acting as the First Watch - the first people who would encounter an invading Army of Orcs.

There were occasionally clashes with rouge Orcs or raiding parties, of course. Orcs were something Konrad believed in and absolutely despised. All of his training had been focused on them, fighting the larger, stronger creatures. But Skriven? He hadn't been prepared for them.

The Abandoned Crypt lay a few days journey to the North, just outside a ruined fort that had once been the Roht's family home. From an age long past, it had been purely defensive, the land around it not very hospitable. The Rohts had moved to a more favorable location to the South, where the current family compound was located, as the Borderlands calmed down over the years and the family had to rely on farming and trade to make a living. Konrad couldn't say why he was drawn to the place but had found himself there while out on patrol once more.

He had noticed that the doorway to the Crypt had been smashed open and thinking that he'd encounter grave robbers inside, he had stormed in full of anger. The stench had been nearly overwhelming, the chittering of the Skriven just as foreign to him. They had nearly killed him too. Skriven didn't feel pain. You had to disable or dismember them to get them to stop. Damage them enough that the magic holding them together shattered. He had never had such a close call fighting Orcs. And what had they been after? He had found an amulet in the hands of one Skriven, taken from a broken Tomb.

Something different: Looking for a skilled partner to play three roles:

The Sacred Heart Academy is a place of learning. No one would ever expect to learn what really happens during the school year.

~Female Teacher/Male Student~ The Teacher, married, finds an unexpected friend in the quiet/shy nerdy student. He is her favorite, by far the best in her class, but she feels bad for the way he gets picked on and bullied by other people, hearing the rumors etc. Working on a big project together (as his tutor) they get closer and she starts to confide in him about her own marriage woes, leading them to kiss...and find comfort with each other. At first, its her teaching him how to do things, but he is a fast learner, and they seem to *fit* perfectly together. Both on the mental and physical level. It causes her to question everything, especially her marriage.

~Male Teacher/Female Student~ Perhaps the first Teachers Husband, a man who has long had a thing for the younger girls he teaches. Most of the reason he has lost interest in his wife is the plethora of girls who enjoy flirting with him. He catches a bi-curious girl with another girl, doing things they shouldn't, in a classroom. She offers to take the full punishment if he lets the other girl go. He does, forcing her into a relationship with him - the first time she has ever experienced a man before. She has long flirted with him, of course, and quickly gets into it. Perhaps she is the Nerds Sister, also attending the school, and when she gets knocked up...well, maybe she does get her happy ending as his marriage is well on the way to being over.

~Student/Student~ White Girl meets Black Boy. He is about the only person of color in the school, somewhat off limits because of it. Perhaps slight undertones of racism, and he gets bullied quite a bit. She could be the head cheerleader, perhaps even dating another boy, and takes pity on the guy. He did nothing wrong and doesn't deserve the abuse. Perhaps they start to hang out in secret, getting to know each other, which leads to them crossing some taboo lines.
