Try as she might, the brunette's lips, unable to hold back, broke out into a small grin the second he pulled her back into the seat. She'd be lying if she said she wanted the moment to end, too. This was one of the rare moments of peace the two had. Nobody from the academy, just them. And she loved that. Brown hues blinked down at their intertwined fingers, the smile never fading. "My hands are not that cold," She huffed, gaze flickering to meet his own. "Ever thought that maybe your hands are just too warm?"
Sorry you probably don't want this shit. Not yet.
Just like that, Lexie's world came to a standstill. She froze as his lips pressed against her cheek in a short fleeting kiss, before they were gone once more and he was standing to his feet. She swallowed, remaining silent as they left the theatre and began the trek back to their dorms. She wasn't silent for the reasons he probably thought though, no. She was silent because she was dazed. It was a simple kiss on the cheek, nothing more, and yet she felt as if a thousand butterflies were making home in her stomach, and fuck, she felt like she was on cloud fucking nine.
Perhaps that was what convinced her into doing what she done next. Despite knowing that she would probably regret it, or he would. Coming to a sudden stop, she took a deep breath. "Ryder?" She murmured. It was only when he spun on his heel to face her that she pressed her lips to his, somehow needing more than their simple cheek kiss.
Maybe she wasn't completely ready for anything else yet, and she was still jumpy when being touched, but for some reason she knew Ryder wouldn't hurt her. Not the way the Taylor's did, at least. She was safe with him.
