The sounds of the engine failing signaled a flurry of lights and alerts in the ship as Soren, a rogue bounty hunter scrambled to stabilize the ship. The ship had already entered the atmosphere and various landscapes, towns, and the tops of cities were scattered about, connected by stretches of trails and roads with long stretches of empty terrain in between them. The hunter, grunted as he pulled back the yoke to bring the ship in line with the horizon.

As the planet's terrain grew closer, he flipped a number of switches to deploy the landing gear and flaps in an attempt to survive this landing.

"If I get out of this alive...I'll make sure to pay the bar tab instead of fucking the bartender..." he says in an effort to provide some comedic relief for himself.

The ship nears the ground and the landing gear roughly tears into the hard land as the ship comes down hard and rough, anything but elegant. The heavy vessel skids across the land as things inside the ship fall from their casings, before slowing to a halt. Soren takes a moment, gripping the yoke firmly before letting his grasp go and letting out an exasperated sigh.

Several hours pass as the adventurer has now managed to get his bearings, straighten up, and managed to assess what's needed for repairs. He's gathered various sacks, some light armor, weapons, and electronics. Having exited the ship, he leaves the vessel where it is and the sun, although high, is shifting quickly signaling that nightfall is near. Knowing he has to find food, shelter, and supplies, he walks across a stretch of land that leads towards mountains, on which the other side an artificial glow of light can be seen indicating a town.

The cacophonous crash of Soren's ship had rung out far and wide, and though it appeared that the bounty hunter was alone, that was far from the truth. Kuruk had run as fast as he could to see where the ship had landed, and when he had found it, taken some time to investigate. There was no one here, at least now. No bodies, either. No sign of a struggle. But there were tracks.

With four arms, Kuruk was able to cover ground quite quickly by using them as extra legs for movement, scurrying like a feral beast across the ground, until he picked up a peculiar scent in the air. He couldn't place it, not in all his years of living in the wilderness. Nothing he had ever seen smelled like this creature.

The scent carried Kuruk towards the mountains. It appeared as if whatever he was tracking was heading towards the nearest town. Nostrils flared wildly, and he knew he was getting closer. Then, he saw him. A humanoid creature wearing armor and carrying equipment unfamiliar to the Salythen, though apparently intelligent. Kuruk was of the wild, though not because of a lack of mind - the Salythens chose to abandon the cities.

Kuruk hunched low to the ground, his belly grazing the dirt like a snake, using his six limbs to crawl quietly, closing the distance between them in due time. He had an insatiable curiosity, and this creature from another world had piqued it.
