Lydia had finally decided on an outfit, which was nothing more than a gray skirt that came to her knees and a white blouse, to wear to her supposedly interview for a secretary job. She felt quite iffy about it because the company she going to was lead by her husband's brother. She just hoped that the interview would be fair, despite their relation to each other. Lydia ran her hands over her outfit before she placed upon a pair of heels then tied her hair into a high ponytail. She let out a sigh through parted lips before she descended down the stairs, where her husband was as he looked up at her, smiling proudly.
❝You look great.❞ Andrew said as he planted a kiss onto her cheek, avoiding the lips so that her lipstick wouldn't smear. ❝Thanks, honey.❞ Lydia replied before she turned heel and went over to a nearby table, where she collected a folder that was filled with her resume, references, and just a lot of her credentials. From there, she reached to grab the car keys then lifted her hand to wave her husband goodbye as she rushed out of the door and got inside of the vehicle. Upon starting the engine, she entered the address in the GPS located inside of her vehicle then started to drive with the directions she was given.
Eventually, she made it to the parking deck and sat there for a moment, inhaling and exhaling breaths while she waited then checked herself out in the mirror. ❝Okay.❞ Lydia mustered up the strength to get out of the vehicle and enter the building. She went to the receptionist with a smile then asked where are the interviews being held. The receptionist gave her directions and Lydia tried her best to mesmerize them while she got on the elevator and pressed the numbered button she needed to.
Lydia replayed how she was going to introduce herself to her potential new boss. Of course, he does already know who she is, which made her even more nervous. When the elevator bell chimed, it made her jump slightly but then she stepped out of the elevator and a male came up to her. ❝Here for the interview?❞ He asked, which made her nod her head as he waved for her to follow him. ❝The Boss is at lunch but should be back shortly.❞ She wanted to mutter out something but no words came out.
❝Sit here.❞ The male pointed at a seat beside the office and she complied with his seeming demand. Lydia sat there while she flipped through the pages of the papers inside of the folder she held. It was then that the elevator bell chimed again and it was him. Her husband's brother walking towards her, which she immediately stood up then extended her hand. ❝Hi. I'm Lydia. But you already knew that, of course.❞ She let out a nervous chuckle then removed the few strands of her hair from over her eye. Lydia waited for further instructions before she decided to move any steps further.

James was a busy man, unusually so. Being the CEO of a large Tech Security company at the age of 32 was nothing to scoff at, and he'd been featured in Forbes twice already. He was the pride of his family, in just about every way except domestically. A dauntingly busy schedule had always made it so he had no time for his personal life, the last girlfriend he'd had leaving him because he had no time for her. No time to be at home. Even at the office he was quickly getting overwhelmed; until his brother presented a solution for him. His sister-in-law, a stay at home mom for the most part looking to get out and about again into the work space.

He knew Lydia, of course. Not as well as he should have considering he wasn't always available to visit family, but they'd met a couple times before since her and his brother's wedding. There were worse options for a secretary, and he wanted to help family-- so he agreed to have an interview for her at least so that if she was the right fit, she could ease the burden on him in the office and find some fulfillment if she sought it.

He'd already gotten a call on his way back from lunch that she was there and waiting for him. James' office was a corner one on the penthouse floor, fourty feet in the sky within the tech-giant's skyscraper. The elevator's bell would signal his arrival, where he was quickly greeted by the working staff around his office floor. As he turned the corner, he saw her there, sitting in wait. A warm smile was extended her way the moment his eyes locked with her own-- she was always pretty. At least, he always found her to be rather easy on the eyes. She was his type in many ways, not that he'd ever confess such a thing. Fair features, blonde hair, the full package.

"Lydia." He repeated her name in greeting as he walked up to her, keeping it professional while they were not behind closed doors. "You're early-- I like that, better than the alternative." He mused, turning around for a moment to look at the man who told her where to sit. "Aaron, go deal with accounting on fourteenth. Get that embezzlement contract done." He instructed, to which the man quickly replied with an 'On it, Sir' and went about his task.

This left James to open his office door. He was wearing a full dark suit, form-fitting to show off a full and well built figure. He was a strong man, 6'2, with handsome features and a presence about him. A leader. A boss. "Come in Lydia, let's talk." He opened the door for her to walk in first, and once she did, he followed and closed the door behind them. Once they were in that security, he eased slightly, turning around to place a small kiss of greeting onto her cheek. "It's good to see you again. Sorry I couldn't come for Thanksgiving. Andrew told you I was caught up at work I hope?" He seemed genuine, it wasn't just a lame excuse. "Anyways-- come come, sit. I hear you want to work for me."

He teased slightly, walking over towards his desk and sitting on his large leather chair behind it. There were two chairs ahead of said desk for her to choose from.

She saw James, which brought a blush of nervousness to her cheeks. Hearing her name from his lips brought a smile to plastered between her lips. ❝I am quite punctual.❞ Lydia added while James instructed the male from earlier to go and handle something else. She eyed the male as he walked away then stared back at James as he opened up his office door and left room for her to walk in first, which she did. The kiss upon her cheek surprised her and her reaction definitely showed it. She stood there wide-eyed while his words went in one ear and out the other.
❝Uh, yes. He told me and no worries.❞ Lydia said with the flick of her hand his way, another nervous chuckle escaped from her. ❝It's also good to see you again, James.❞ She muttered with a smile as she sat down while her head nodded at his question. ❝Why, yes. It was actually my husband who told me to come here and inquire.❞ She mentioned with another smile as she slowly got comfortable. She sat back in the chair then crossed her legs, one over the other one.
Lydia completely forgot about the folder in her hand, which she quickly stood up and extended the folder to him. ❝Sorry, it's just my resume and some other things.❞ She said while she sat back down in the previous position from earlier. ❝Uhm, what does the job entail exactly?❞ Lydia questioned with a confused look plastered on her face then continued to speak. ❝My husband left completely in the dark about that part.❞ She couldn't help but admire James from afar. What he has accomplished? How poised he was? She wished that her husband was somewhere close to James' status.
Although, that's something that she wouldn't dare mention out loud. While she waited for him to respond, her eyes stared around the office to take it all in. ❝I honestly love what you've done for this company. I am definitely impressed.❞ She stated while her eyes fell back down to meet his and another smile formed between her lips.

'You look good in a pencil skirt'. The thought crossed his mind but he didn't verbalize it, keeping his attraction to her quiet. He didn't want to make it awkward or unprofessional, but perhaps the way he looked at her was a small clue if she was privy enough to see it that he was certainly...open to her. His body language made it clear for those that could read it. Even in the few times they did talk, they always had good chemistry. He brushed said thoughts from his mind though, but it was difficult to keep his eyes off of her with how she crossed her legs and sat before him.

Her folder now in his hand, he opened it to take a quick look through what she'd assembled. The office around them was professional but comfortable. Bookcases were filled to the brim along one wall, some signed sports trophies from the companies' clients lined another shelf, and a bar was to their left along with leather couches and a small table. A meeting area. He stood up with her folder in hand. "Lets go talk over there; you're not an unfamiliar guest. I want you to feel comfortable." He lead the way and walked over towards the couches, sitting down and leaving her room to come sit next to him.

There was a glass coffee table ahead of him, that he placed her folder on as he answered her inquiries. "I can see that you have some experience working in this line of work so It should be an easy transition. I'm flooded with work and my last secretary quit on me after she married. You'd be handling calls, mostly-- instructing clients and visitors when to wait and what my schedule is. You'd go on the road with me, brief me in the limo about what my next meetings are, have my files and laptop ready, things of that nature." He explained lightly, her compliment that followed bringing a handsome smile to his lips.

"Well, I'm glad you like it because I also tend to work long hours. I'm not sure if Andrew knows or...if this is something you're looking for, but pulling an all-nighter in the office isn't too uncommon, I hope that's okay?" He tilted his body towards her, ready to accept any questions she had-- but adding. "The pay will be more than worth it. I'll make sure of that."

Lydia saw the way that James was staring at her and honestly, she wanted him to stare. She should've ended up with James and not Andrew but that was a secret she always kept to herself. Her eyes couldn't help but examine James anyway but she had to realize that she was married to his brother. When he inquired about moving somewhere else to make her comfortable, Lydia shrugged her shoulders then stood up and followed closely behind James as he leads the way. On the way over to the bar area, she could not help but stare with complete awe at the rest of the office. ❝You have a bar in your office.❞ She stated the obvious while her index finger pointed at the area, a gasp left her and her mouth was open wide.
She sat down beside him but not too close as she turned her body to face towards him. ❝I really do have plenty of experience as you can see for yourself.❞ Lydia said as he pointed at her folder then stared back up at him as he started to let her know what the job entails. Her head nodded at the job details then she flicked her hand towards him again. ❝Sounds pretty easy quite frankly.❞ Lydia then leaned over to rest a hand on his thigh, eyes meeting his. ❝Sorry that your last secretary quit on you but at least she had a good reason.❞ She chuckled a little bit then removed her hand to clasp with her other one.
❝I like a lot of things.❞ She left it at that just to tease him, a smirk forming over her lips. One that she did not try to hide. ❝Uh, I don't think he knows that but I'll be sure to inform him beforehand.❞ Lydia said then flicked her hand at him again. ❝I'm sure he'll be fine with it though.❞ She muttered softly then eyed him again once he mentioned the pay would be worth it. ❝Well, it better be, Mr. CEO.❞ She reached down and gave his leg a bit of push while she let out a small laugh. ❝So, with you telling me all of this, does that mean that I have the job?❞ She questioned as she leaned in with interest. ❝If so, perhaps we should celebrate with some drinks?❞
An innocent look plastered her face now as her eyes flickered over towards the bar now. ❝Do you have bourbon?❞ She asked while her eyes went back to stare at him with sheer delight.

Even if he wanted to, he couldn't stop himself from eyeing her. Every step she took on her way over from the chair to the sofa, he watched. The way her legs shifted in her pencil skirt, the way she gracefully sat down next to him and crossed her legs again. It was...tempting, to be bold, but he was doing his best to keep any urges he had towards her firmly in check. "Well, you'd be surprised how little I end up using it. The bottles are barely cracked open." He was under a lot of stress, and it showed slightly. "But hopefully with you coming on board, things will start to get a little easier."

Where it got harder though? Was beneath his pants when she placed a hand on his thigh. His body simply reacted to that touch in the most carnal way, and if she had an eye for it, she'd see a twitch within his groin indicative of how he responded to that touch. He leaned a little more towards her all the same, the smile on his lips widening slightly. "Then I'll be depending on you, Lydia-- be as my shadow, I want you at my touch whenever work hours start." He chose his words deliberately, and let a hand slide onto her thigh gently under the guise of a re-assuring grip. His fingers lingered along that inner thigh for just a moment, before slipping away.

"Yes, you got the job-- under one condition." He grinned, leaning in to whisper teasingly, every single word letting warm breath escape against the lobe of her ear and down her neck. "In-front of the other employees? It's yes sir, no sir. Keep James for the office, between you and I." He grinned at that, before she laughed and suggested they celebrate with some drinks, an idea he seemed all too eager to entertain. "I think the occasion deserves it-- Bourbon is available. I'll opt for a whiskey."

He grinned, taking her hand into his own and pulling them both up. Surprisingly, he kept his hand in her own as he walked them towards the bar-- any excuse to touch her a little longer. Once there, he didn't have her sit down on the stool opposite him but pulled her behind the bar counter itself, where he grabbed two glasses and filled them quickly with their drinks of choise. Finally, he couldn't keep his earlier thought to himself anymore. "...You look cute in a secretary's uniform. A pencil skirt suits you. Andrew always has you showing up in shirts and pants whenever you visit. It's...nice to see you looking a little more...womanly."

❝Whatever you need, I'll be there.❞ She spoke with a slight smile as she felt his hand move over to her inner thigh, which made her bite down on her bottom lip rather quickly. When he said that she had gotten the job, she inwardly squealed with excitement. ❝What's the condition?❞ Lydia inquired as he leaned in closer to her and his whisper practically melted along her earlobe and neck. She exhaled at his words and nodded his head while she turned to face him, their lips dangerously close to one another. ❝Yes, Sir.❞ She muttered with a breath that could be felt against his lips.
It was then that she broke away from him a little bit as he mentioned the drinks. Her hand fell right into his as he pulled them both up and during their walk over to the bar, their hands still resided into one another. Lydia did not resist or try to remove her hand from his because it honestly felt like it belongs there. Oh, she could literally melt right about now because of how close they were getting and she wasn't all that surprised though.
Lydia was about to take a seat in one of the bar stools but James carried her all the way behind the counter. ❝I feel so special.❞ She remarked with a little giggle as his hand left hers. She watched as he grabbed two glasses and their desired beverages of choice. When he was done pouring their drinks, Lydia picked up her glass then leaned closer to him. ❝Hm, to new beginnings?❞ She questioned because that's exactly what it seemed like. In any case, she went ahead and clinked her glass with his but almost choked on her drink at his words.
❝Uhm, thanks, James.❞ She said after she wiped her mouth because of some Bourbon that had slipped out. Lydia took another sip from her Bourbon then locked her eyes with his again, almost as if they were putting her in a trance. ❝You look very handsome in that suit.❞ She said while she reached out for his tie, grasping it a little before she dropped it. ❝So, James, seeing anyone or anything?❞ Lydia had finished off her beverage then raised her glass up, which signaled that she wanted a refill. She could feel the Bourbon taking flight within her because she was always a lightweight drinker. Of course, James did not even know that but he was going to find out right about now.

That 'yes sir' that was whispered nearly against his lips almost had the man unraveling. There was nothing he could think about in that moment other than how she'd look like bent over the coffee table ahead of him, but once again he forced himself to push the thought away. This was his sister-in-law after all. He needed to be calmer, more rational, no matter how...into this she seemed, just as much as he was. Ultimately, that was impossible.

Truth spilled behind the bar and he complimented her, a small laugh escaping when she nearly swallowed her drink too fast. "You are special." He confirmed her earlier remark, before a finger lifted to help wipe some of the bourbon that had leaked from the corner of her lip. Another excuse to get a touch in, no matter how small. When she returned his compliment, he was ready to thank her until she grabbed onto his tie. Yeah, she had him wrapped around her little finger, and she'd find his body momentarily turning to face her own, brushed up against her just for a moment. She'd feel every muscle beneath his suit, including an interesting bulge beneath his pants. "You flatter me."

It was all he could let slip out before she thankfully asked for another drink, and he could try and control himself a little more. As he grabbed the bottle of bourbon to pour her another glass, he'd answer her inquiry. "Mm, I'm afraid not. Single for a year and a few months now, ever since Maria left." He sighed, a little frustrated. "Not that I blame her. I never had time to give her being at the office all the time, you know? I get it." He admitted, taking the bottle back and pouring himself some bourbon this time around too. Mixing drinks? He was going to catch up to how drunk she was going to be sooner rather than later.

He took down his entire glass of Bourbon quickly, turning towards her and leaning forward again. He didn't think about it-- it just happened, his body pressing against her own slightly, one of his legs slipping between her thighs, his free hand falling on the curve of her waist. "It gets lonely. So-- I'm actually more grateful than you think having someone I consider family working so closely with me. Remind me to thank Andrew for sending you my way. I'm going to use you well." This time the words were on purpose, teasing, sultry. He just had no self control with her for some reason, and it was showing.

Her eyes focused on the bottle of Bourbon as it was being poured inside of her glass now. She listened to James' words then reached up to take another sip from her beverage, which she swallowed hard before she offered a response to him. ❝Surprisingly, there's not a million women falling for you, James.❞ She remarked then continued her words after another sip of Bourbon. ❝Oh, my gosh. How could I forget about you and Maria?❞ A light chuckle came from her before she continued to speak. ❝You were like Tony in West Side Story over Maria. Lovesick puppy.❞ Lydia amused as she poked him in the chest with her index finger.
She looked confused as to why he poured Bourbon inside of his glass this time around then he chugged his drink down. Lydia took another sip from her glass as she gasped because their bodies touched one another. She sat her half-empty glass down on the counter as her body fully turned towards James now. Lydia reached up to rest her hands upon his chest then a little further to rest them on his shoulders. Her eyes glared directly into his while they then went to his lips as he spoke again. ❝I'll be sure to give him the message when I see him again.❞ She smiled a bit brightly before she let out a little giggle.
❝I can't begin to imagine those lonely nights all by yourself.❞ His last words caught her a bit off guard because how exactly did he mean that. She was with Andrew but heaven forbid if he walked in on them like this. This was really dangerous and it was like Lydia was under James' spell. It might've also been the liquid courage that she had just consumed, too. Either way, she liked the way James' hand felt around her waist, his leg between hers and their bodies pressed against each other. She pressed her lips together after she licked them. She just wanted one kiss from him. To feel their lips against each other for the very first time.
Lydia leaned upward as their lips neared and neared closer to each other but a knock came over his office door, which made her slip out a sigh. ❝I think you have to get that.❞ She stated as she released her grasp from his shoulders then maneuvered out of his. Lydia had adjusted herself and clothing before she eyed James after another knock came over the door. ❝Go and get it. I'll be here, finishing my Bourbon then I have to go grocery shopping for dinner tonight.❞ She said then immediately took a sip from her glass. ❝You wouldn't perhaps want to come to dinner tonight, would you?❞ Lydia inquired toward James after another sip then she rested the glass on his lips, seductively.

"Okay, listen-- she was cute! And really nice too. It just...didn't work out." He laughed a bit awkwardly as they both remembered his ex-girlfriend, but she was far from the woman he had his sights on right now. His own brother's wife...in such a procrarious position in his arms, pressed up to him like this...taboo. It was taboo, and wrong, and he craved more. He didn't know how this happened, maybe it was the drinks, but this immediate physical and emotional chemistry that sparked between Lydia and him was so appealing that he nearly leaned down and just...kissed her. Speaking of how lonely he was, how she was likely the answer to that problem...just one kiss...

And then the door knocked. James could not remember being this mad at a door knocking before. So ill-timed, so interrupting. Yet...maybe for the best. He cleared his throat, almost not removing himself from her until she mentioned he had to get the door. Reluctantly, his body parted from her own but not without him brushing his hand against her inner thigh just enough to feel its warmth. "Ah...yes, yes of course."

He made his way to the door and opened it, if a bit annoyed. Just an employee asking for his signature. Some urgent shit that couldn't wait. Begrundgingly, he took the pen offered to him and signed down on everything that was needed. He closed the door again, and when he turned she'd already finished her Bourbon. It was bitter-sweet. Probably the right thing for things to be halted where they did between them, but god he just wanted a taste of her. Just one. IT was then that she suggested that he come to the dinner she was grocery shopping for, a peculiar idea that had a brow rising as he returned to her.

"Dinner? At your place with Andrew?" He questioned. On one hand, he worried that it might be awkward with his brother around, but in the other, he wanted to see her again and as soon as possible. That urge was there in his chest, clawing at him. He remembered how Andrew always fell asleep quickly after eating, and if that meant some alone, quiet time with Lydia, then..."I think I can clear my schedule tonight. He's going to want to know you got the job too so, I can come." He flashed her a smile again, knowing she was going to leave his office now felt a little less bad with new plans already taking shape.

When James headed towards the door, she readjusted herself again then quickly scurried from around the bar counter and lifted herself to sit on a stool. Although, her eyes were fixed on the door as James opened it to reveal an employee that needed his signature. She had taken the last sip of her Bourbon then sat the glass down on the countertop then jumped from the barstool as she walked over toward James just as he closed the door. She hadn't forgotten about the touch to her inner thigh either but she stood in front of him with a smile.
❝I can't wait to see you at dinner tonight.❞ Lydia placed her hands upon his chest then ran her hands over the area down to his abs then immediately removed her hands. She chuckled nervously as she looked up at him then placed a lingering kiss on his cheek. ❝Yes, Andrew will be there.❞ Her tone was mostly sarcastic with the added eye roll while she walked to the door. ❝Thanks for the job and the drink. I'll see you soon and you remember where we stay, right?❞ Once he answered her question, she'd give him the address if he needed it then slip through the doors. ❝It's a casual dinner, James. So no suits.❞ Lydia offered him a wink after those words and she was fully gone from the office.
She giggled like a little schoolgirl to herself as she waited for the elevator doors to open. She could not believe the moment she just had with James. Andrew couldn't even stir that side within her anymore. Although, she did hate to admit it to herself. Lydia finally reached the parking deck, where she got inside of her vehicle then drove to the grocery store, which was thankfully nearby. In the parking lot of the grocery store, she had called her husband, Andrew. ❝Hey, babe. I got the job and I invited James over for dinner, hope that's okay.❞ She mentioned to him but of course, he had to work late passed dinner and was glad that she had gotten the job. After a while, they both hung up on each other and she just went inside to gather a few items.
Tonight, she was planning on having pot roast with some vegetables to scatter around the roast. Once she had gathered her items, paid for them, and reached the house, she had dropped her groceries off and then immediately got inside of the shower. The lingering smell James littered her body but of course, that made her feel some type of way. After a few minutes of showering, she emerged herself from the shower then wrapped a towel around her body. Since it was just her in the house, Lydia went downstairs to start dinner then went back upstairs to slip into something casual, which was nothing more than a pair of blue jean short shorts and a t-shirt. Even though James was coming over tonight, she didn't bother to even wear shoes.
Dinner time had rolled around and she placed the finishing touches on the pot roast and set the table. Her ears twitched as she heard a vehicle approach in her driveway, which she sighed with relief because she was tired of eating dinner alone. Lydia pulled a bottle of wine out of the freezer then sat it down on the table as she went towards the door, smiling upon opening it before James could even knock or ring the doorbell.
❝It's just me and you, James. Andrew has to work late... again.❞ Lydia rolled her eyes then stepped aside to allow James to come inside, closing the door behind them. ❝The dining room is this way.❞ She said as she leads the way towards the room and James would see a pot roast in the center of the table and the table has been set for two. ❝Go on, sit.❞ Lydia muttered as she opened the bottle of wine and poured herself and James a glass then cut the pot roast before she put three pieces on James and her own plate. She sat down beside James then started to cut her roast with her knife and fork then put the piece inside of her mouth. ❝Is it good?❞ She inquired towards James after swallowing her own piece that she just consumed.

He would think about that touch to his abdomen that slipped away just before she left his entire way home. Of course, James had remembered where they lived but he got the address from Lydia anyway. He didn't want to show up to the wrong home, after all. Still, knowing Andrew was going to be there felt...bitter. Yes, it was his brother, but James craved some time alone with his new secretary and he wasn't going to have it very easily. He made sure to tell her he'd wear something casual, nothing fancy like a suit so that they were completely comfortable, and with a lingering kiss to her cheek that had him thinking not-so innocent thoughts about what to do with those lips, she went home.

Once he was finished work, he drove back to his own penthouse apartment first. He didn't take the driver with him, opting to drive himself home and then over to Lydia's when he was finished. Firstly, he jumped into the shower, which took a little longer than anticipated since his hand was used to...relieve some pressure from between his legs. He couldn't help himself. Lydia consumed his thoughts, and picturing her in his office every day, in that outfit, calling him Sir...it was a bit too much to handle without acting upon it physically, and once he was all finished, he dried himself up and began to dress.

Slipping on a white button-up shirt, half-sleeve, and a pair of khaki shorts to match, he made sure he wasn't over-dressed. A gold watch on one hand, and loafers on his feet-- no socks, and his attire was complete. Jumping into his car, he quickly drove over to the address given to him, and when he arrived, he found Lydia greeting him before he could even knock. It was then that his smile grew wide on his face, unable to help it at all, completely telegraphed, when she told him Andrew wasn't there. "Oh...that's a shame." A bold faced lie. "I guess it's just the two of us then." He smiled, as she walked him towards the dinner table.

"Holy shit Lydia, this is almost too much." The pot-roast looked beautiful and appetizing, but as she offered him a seat, he would do so. "You didn't have to do all this for me. I didn't even bring anything." He was in awe of just how much she did for him, and as she sat next to him to pour them the wine as he dug into his meal, he would brush her shoulder with his own in silent compliment. "You...you cook for Andrew these kinds of things every day and he has the audacity to miss dinner? What a moron." He laughed a bit, his leg leaning over so his thigh could be pressed up against Lydia's own. "This is delicious, Lydia."

He wasn't just complimenting either. The man was going through his dinner quickly because of how well cooked it wall, the wine a perfect accent for the evening.

❝You brought the most important thing that you could...❞ She left that statement to trail off then smiled over toward him. ❝Yourself.❞ Lydia giggled a little to herself then paused at his next choice of words, which lead her to drop her knife and fork onto her plate as it made a clatter. ❝Don't call Andrew names. He usually works late and you know, sometimes I have to eat alone.❞ She said with a shrug of her shoulders to follow her words. With a sigh, she picked up her knife and fork then went back to eating the meal she had prepared. A smile formed between her lips as he complimented her on the pot roast. She didn't even bother to say thank you because she was still upset with him after he called Andrew out of his name.
Lydia turned to him again after she sat her knife and fork down on the plate before her and wiped the corners of her mouth with her napkin. She raised a brow of curiosity then cleared her throat before she rested her elbows onto the table and leaned in his general direction. ❝So, you've been making certain gestures towards me all day long.❞ It was coming. Time for James to confess something because she was surely intrigued. Of course, she did have to play around with him a little bit though. ❝Why is that?❞
She left it open for him to finally come clean if he wanted to. Although, she can't say that she hadn't enjoyed it though. As she waited for him to respond, Lydia went ahead and started to clear the table. ❝I'm listening.❞ She said in a singsongy voice while she sauntered her way into the kitchen. There, she placed the dishes inside of the sink then waltzed her way back into the dining room. Lydia poured herself another glass of wine then hovered it over James' glass, not really waiting for approval before she poured some more into his cup, as well. ❝So, want to watch a movie or something?❞
Lydia had not sat back down so she stood with the glass in her hand while her other hand rested on the back of the chair from where she sat earlier. She waited for James' answer before she moved any further to the living area, where the television was set up.

"Well, consider me here to stay." Of course he didn't mean for the entire night, but for the forseeable next few hours? He was hers, entirely. She was his muse and he was her guest to do with as she wished, whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted. He could tell though, that she got a little upset at him calling his brother a moron. While it wasn't exactly uncommon for him, considering they were brothers and always grew up competitive, it did warm his heart that she was that kind. Kind enough that even though he could sense she was somewhat...frustrated, she still didn't want anything bad to be said about Andrew.

"Sorry, Lydia. Old habit. We always competed, even with things like who could come up with the most creative curse word about the other." He mused. They were good memories. "I'll keep myself from saying that though. I only felt a little bad he wasn't here to enjoy all these amazing things you cooked for me." Which, he was already finishing considering how genuinely good they were. A napkin was taken to his lips to wipe them, before she suddenly hit him with a question he wasn't expecting. Had he been drinking, he'd have coughed it out. "I have?" He played dumb at first, clearing his throat-- but as he answered, she was already starting to clear the table, teasing him, taunting him with that voice.

He got up to wash his hands as he talked. It was easier when he wasn't looking at her directly. "Maybe I've just missed my sister-in-law, hm?" He could play this game too, teasing back, being playful. "It's been almost a year since I saw you last. Don't think I ever got the chance to speak to you one on one since...what, your wedding night? It was hard to keep the image of you in that gorgeous white dress out of my mind." He smiled-- she did look beautiful that night. Stunning. "So I'm catching up on lost time. Making up for all the little hugs and conversations we missed out on having."

When she suggested a movie though, he wiped his hands on a nearby towel. "Movie sounds good though. Just throw Netflix on." He flashed her a handsome smile, before finding her on the couch already waiting and settling in right next to her. One leg was curled up next to her own, his knee touching her, while the other settled on the floor. He pulled a blanket hung on the couch's back and draped it over their laps, just in case it got a little cold. "And what about you?" His turn. "You've been returning every little gesture I make-- explain yourself." He teased, a smirk flashing her way.

Lydia heard his apology then eyed him with a smile. She did not bother to respond but did shrug her shoulders. She heard his response to her question, which made her smirk because he tried to play dumb about it at first. Although, his follow up response took a bit off guard as she turned to face in his general direction, waiting until he was finished before she offered a response of her own. ❝Nice to know that you miss me. Maybe if you had come to Thanksgiving, you wouldn't have missed me so much.❞ Lydia spoke then looked up as he came into view but she kept on replying to him.
❝Yeah, that was the last time that I saw you, I think. You've been so busy with your thriving company, so it makes sense.❞ She said then watched him sit beside her, smiling whenever their knees touched. Now that they were cozied up on the couch together, it was time to change the subject and watch a movie. While she strolled through her Netflix, he had reversed her previous question back toward her, which made her gulp heavily. Her top teeth met with her bottom lip as she did not even look his way because she would get lost inside of is eyes. Lydia continuously strolled through Netflix, trying her best to avoid responding to the question. She cleared her throat then smiled as she found a movie for them to enjoy. ❝Oh, look! One of my favorite movies is on Netflix here now.❞
Lydia clicked on the movie for it to begin playing then couldn't help herself but stared at James and groaned. ❝Alright, alright.❞ She held her hands up then placed them inside of her lap. ❝I've missed you, as well. Seeing you being a boss looks very sexy on you.❞ Lydia spoke in a teasing tone then rolled her eyes upward before she palmed her face inside of his hands. ❝I've always wanted you, James. Not Andrew.❞ She confessed once she lifted her head back up then leaned closer to him. ❝Why don't we finish what we started in the office, hm?❞ She questioned James with a sly smirk that formed between her lips while her eyes stared directly into his. Her lips were dangerously close to his as he would feel her hot breath against them. Lydia wanted James to take her right here, right now and on a couch, which she has shared many, many memories with Andrew.
