Biography: Ralph took over the kingdom from his father when he turned seventeen after both his mother and father had been killed in a â??accidentâ?, Shortly after there was a attempt to take over his kingdom which he foiled, and discovered that it had all be a plot both this and his parents murder. Launching into a first strike war he quickly took over the neighboring kingdom and made the king face justice for planning his parentsâ?? murder. The rest of the royal family he allowed to live and soon lost track of them. Five years past and he had led his kingdom into a golden age of prosperity, but success came with the price of having to face many fatherâ??s wanting to marry their daughterâ??s to him. None of the girls appealed to him, they all had too much training in the art of intrigue, he needed a honest girl that he could trust not to be stabbing him in the back.

Ralph walked down the long spacious hallway toward the wing of the castle that he himself had built. It wasnâ??t really a true part of the castle as it housed non-royalty; he had built it shortly after his parents had died and it had been made as a place that the orphans of this town could come and receive any assistance. His heart had gone out to those without their parents because of losing his own; and so spending some of his own personal fortune he set up places like this in every city and town in the kingdom.
His heels clicked loudly as he walked into the main room seeing many of those orphans that he knew by name. A couple of the little girls ran over to him hugging his waist, arms, and one his leg tightly. Not being able to stop it he smiled at them all and went over to sit on one of the couches and talk and play with the little girls. He loved children and would have done the same with the boys but unfortunately being a orphan meant you had to grow up a bit faster than normal. After several minutes he was alone as the girl had slowly filtered away as lunch came to an end.
Watching the children leave he sighed wishing that he could allow them all to stay here at the castle. However he had tried that already and it hadnâ??t turned out so well. The children he had brought into the castle had become spoiled and soft rather than learning to become strong. He sighed again standing knowing that he was doing what he could without making it too easy on them so they still learned the tough lessons.
Walking into the Baronâ??s office he shook his head at man sitting behind the large desk. â??Baron You wouldnâ??t believe how hard this is coming in here to see you.â? The baron laughed, â??Your majesty believe me I do they are just such beautiful dears, itâ??s hard to only do this little that we do.â? The king nodded the shook himself out of the path his mind was traveling. â??So how comes the preparation for tonight?â? the Baron nodded, â??All is ready for the second annual orphan ball, my liege and all the invitations have been sent to all the nobility, and as per your orders the neighboring kings have been invited also.â? Ralph nodded, â??Good then tonight we shall see who of our neighbors truly have what they need to care for their people.â?
