Dice Rolling
I’m fine with an honor system for now, if there are no objections. Use an online dice roller; use your actual dice on your actual tabletop if you want to!

Variant and House Rules in Play
None, at the moment. Feel free to make suggestions.
This will take kind of a loose approach to rules anyway.
I’ll likely look into some combat rules to make it less “grind away the hp til they die” type of thing.

Character Creation Guidelines

Ability Scores:
25 point buy, but with 1:1 cost rather than the standard costs.
Race/Class: You’ve likely picked these already, but pretty much anything is open.
HP: Just go with your max per die. You might need it.
Skills: Background skills are in use, meaning you get 2 extra skill points to put into certain skills.
Traits: Pick two (2) traits.
Equipment: Nada. Neither a penny nor a stitch. But you’ll have plenty opportunity to scavenge what you need during the opening scenes.
Languages: To be honest, anybody you need to talk to will speak Common.. I tend to downplay languages because it's just another worldbuilding layer to foist on people and there's always enough other lore stuff for players to gloss over.

Still, it's part of character sheets and can be fun and flavorful, so in case you want to go max INT and ranks in Linguistics, here are your options.
I'll try to include some roleplaying opportunities for any languages people pick up.

Common Languages
Common
Common Sign Language

Racial Languages
Elven
Dwarven
Halfling
Gnome
Goblin
Orc

Monstrous Languages
Bestial, language of mammalian monsters
Giant, language of giants and giantkin
Draconic, language of dragons and reptilians
Necril, language of undead and necromancers
Aklo, language of aberrations and eldritch creatures
Undercommon, trade language of subterranean races
Protean, language of shapeshifters

Primal Languages
Sylvan, language of fey and woodland creatures
Aquan, languageof aquatic and water-aligned creatures
Ignan, language of fire-aligned creatures
Terran, language of burrowing and earth-aligned creatures
Auran, language of flying and air-aligned

Planar Languages
Celestial, language of good outsiders and other celestial creatures
Infernal, language of lawful evil outsiders
Abyssal, language of chaotic evil outsiders
Hadal, language of neutral evil outsiders
Axiomatic, language of lawful neutral outsiders
Babeltongue, language of chaotic neutral outsiders
Quilibric, language of true neutral outsiders

It is not. Traits, found here, capture how your character's very early upbringing influenced them, in smaller ways than class levels do. It's like the background from 5e. There are a lot, they're not balanced against each other, and there are a bunch that are mechanically identical. If you wanted to be the highly skilled character, you could dig around for something that fits, and gives you another Class Skill. That's usually a good choice.

Imbalance? In my Pathfinder? It's more likely than you think.

Anyway, as always, if the number of options is overwhelming, feel free to say, "I want to be this" and we can offer suggestions.
