Melissa stretched as she moved through the trees carefully, adjusting her backpack. It had been so long since she'd been able to go for a good hike....a few years ago she'd falllen pregnant and given birth to her son, and she'd devoted more or less the entire past few years to bringing him up. But her son was in school now, and she was starting to find free time once more to indulge in old hobbies, and her favourite had always been hiking. Sure she couldn't start out on going on her week long cross-country hikes again, so she'd settled for a short hike, just a few hours, through the woods out the back of her house. It was strange, but in all her years of living there, she'd never set foot into these woods before. So now she was finally taking advantage of the situation, just relaxing and enjoying herself in the way she always had when she was younger. "Mmmm....I've missed this so much...."
The 30 year old stretched and reached into her backpack, pulling out a bottle of water and taking a sip, before she set off at a brisk, but leasurely, pace through the trees once more. Stepping carefully, avoiding thorns and overgrowing roots, using her hands to support herself against tree branches carefully. About an hour into her walk though, she came to a nice open clearing, about 30 feet across, almost perfectly circular. There wasn't much besides grass in the clearing, except right in the center....there was what looked like some kind of flower....though not like anything Melissa had seen before. "Hm...well well...what have we here?" She raised an eyebrow, sipping on her water again before she started towards the flower, leaning over it and sniffing slightly, reaching out to gently stroke it. "I've never seen a flower like this before..."
