Juno

Juno has been been considered a civilized planet by the Federal Intergalactic Congress for the last 1.3 million years, though Junoians will claim that the goddess Diyne first crossed their skies and started their people on the "path" long before this. The elegant society has grown into one of the strongest matriarchies in the Sixtine galaxy despite the isolationist approach that generations of female led monarchies have adopted.

The planet is equivalent to the FIC's base on Pluto in the Milky Way galaxy, but is covered by over 75% of water with a singular continent referred to as Juno as well. The country runs largely as an agriculture monarchy with one central female ruler. They have minimal interaction with the FIC or any other outside countries. Their singular representative travels less than 4 times a year for only critically demanded conferences. The queen herself has never left the planet. The country itself has not been attacked because of it's seen minimal resource value and distance away from any other life supporting planets.

For the Junoians most people will work on farms or sea ports that dominate 80% of the country. There are 3 cities of over 800,000 citizens, the capital of Diyne being one of the 3 with 1.3 million citizens. The smaller cities and towns serve as the fuel for the trade and commerce that happen in the other 3 cities. The black market thrives on the several exotic fish that can be harvested by the plenty in Juno, and thanks to their limited involvement off planet the water based delicacies are considered delicacies elsewhere. Another large source of off planet income would come from the crystal and unique stones that can be racked from the ocean or dug up from the sea.

Architecture has been native born and fairly distant from the less decorative and very clinical look found throughout the galaxies. Skyscrapers are rarely found, most buildings are dome like and defined in significance by their breath as well as foliage surrounding it. The central palace spans across 45 acres in Diyne and is only dwarfed by the Grand Cathedral which takes up 80 acres at the east end of the capital.

Rina Auctoria

F 1,432
Ruler of Juno
32G 32 44
5'5"
140lbs

Since her mother was courted by General Ariz it was with the intention of concieving and having the first heir of Juno. Her mother says that Diyne had told her Rina's birthday in at dream. The truth was she didn't reveal this news til well into her pregnancy with Rina and she would have done anything to make the people of Juno precieve her daughter as the celestial queen that Rina the senior desired her daughter to be. She set every chess piece she could think of for her daughter into place so at her death at 5,897 Rina took flawlessly to the throne. Rina is the eldest daughter of 10 siblings, 7 of which of are female. Few were given the attention that Rina was, for Tara the 3rd eldest this was Rina's closests friend growing up. But, this was still an orchastraton of her mother

Every luxury was afforded to maintain her daughter's beauty, but it is obvious that gentics themselves played a role. Her flawless peral skin was said to be softer than newborn petals. Her entire being had a violet glow to itself including the mysterious saphire amethyst eyes. She never did anything outside the form her mother desired her till her 10th year reign when she cut the floor length locks to her shoulder length and began inacting architectual changes to the capital like she always desired.

She puts up the same stern distant front her mother did, the truth is that Rina is most comfortable in the waterfalls of Alanta. Beneath the stream of water and alone has been the only times Theo has really seen Rina calm or smilling fully.

Imperial 1st Guard

The imperial guard and Grand Vizier of Defense has known the plot of her life since she was birthed from her mother's channel. She is strict on her soldiers as well as herself. She was given a sword as soon as she could stand, and instructed that the safety of than Princess Rina was the only matter of importance. Somehow that instuction became an obession, that now is the only drive in her life. She is Rina's biggest support and holds an intense unrecipicated love for the now queen. Her emerald eyes have tracked weapons and enemies attacks all across Juno, but increasingly she has struggled. The methods she was brought up on for battle are now outdated and Theo is far too stubborn headed to learn new strategies.

Theo has already birthed two daughters by soldiers specifically chosen by her mother in her earliest years. Theo has no interaction with the childern outside of the holidays. Her mother now retired cares for and rears them to become perfect soliders just as Theo did. Theo looks nothing like her mother and much more like the forest wood dewelers of her father's side. Rich thick chesnut hair is tipped in an emerald green when she isn't stictly trimming such ends, otherwise the hair is bound up in a strict bun that such things are never seen.

The southern dark elves have always been looked down upon and when Queen Rina the senior took in the orphaned street thief Morwen at 487 yrs old to raise alongside her daughters it was a shock across the entire kingdom. The smallest handful of people understood how grown mentally Mowen was, and how many connections she had already established in the commerce central of Alantia. Before she reached 1100 she was already leading one of the highest gem trades with Queen Rina the senior as a silent backer. Both queens privately endorced and utilized the black market connections Mowen forged as the Governoress of the only off world trading city, but neither knew how deep those connections went. Mowen would never tell, because above all else she will choose herself at the end of the day; same as she did back when she raced the streets as a child.

Grand Priestess of Juno

Aerin's birth was within the hour Diyne had left the sky the last time, and the elf herself was than treated as if all that mattered was that metor. Her mother foresake her for the temple in shame for falling to the charms of a male not from Juno. The ignorant Juno population thought that Aerin was fated to be the priestess of Diyne because of her markings, but in truth it is a symbol of her mixed lienage. She has attempted to erase this knowledge or perception since she became aware of it herself. She refuses to be anything but, Junoian. Perceiving the male "species" as she claims it is an abomination that she would never allow to even grace her presense. She has been largely successful wiht it. Within the temple walls only females can worship, and Aerin has maintained a distance of no less than 5 feet from any possible male at any time. Not even attending functions where this may be compromised, and wearing a veil whenever outside of the temple.

Growing up in someone's shadow forever made Tara yearn for more. She didn't truly wnat to resent Rina, and yet Tara remembere doing so since she was a child. Nothing she did was of interest for Queen Rina the Senior, the only benefit of this was Tara's natural qualities florished. She was a gifted scientist who had refined and built up the countries transportation, medicine, and communication since she was young. She has continued to try and push herself but, the recognition she wants she has not received.

Just before the arrival of the "stranger" Tara had been conducting her normal studies on Diyne, assisting Aerin in determining the exact date that Diyne would cross their skies. She herself has seen the data that proves that Diyne is becoming a risk that could soon cross in their orbit and disrupt their physical world or worse.

The stone idly rolled through her fingers. The violet blue tone to her skin still complimentary against the azure stone while her brows narrowed in concentration. The bickering women around her hardly helped her concentration. She attempted to refocus towards the stone in her hand and how it was warming under her constant teasing. Perhaps I can have Theo entertain me tonight, those thick hands in hers are excellent for a deep massage. She requires so little effort to please. The truth was Rina wouldn't need to use any. Even with her low-mid level magic her position had afforded her more influence than she had personally earned. There was a corner that the woman knew she hadn't done much in her life to earn her current status...but she thrived in it.

"Stop it." The words weren't screamed but they were beyond clear enough to silence across the room. Her sharp eyes lifting and floating across everyone in the room. "I brought you hear for concise reports. Not your increasing pickering." Her trim cut hair caressed her jaw line as she straightened her shoulder's back. Mother, would never let this go on this long. "Tara start, what about the new machine to help the farmers?"

The rim of the classes were a thick dark blue crystal from their ocean not too far from her own eye color. She looked at Rina and sighed outwardly. Rina's simple punishment of a look of annoyance shut her up. She had been trying to talk about travel and satellites to monitor invaders coming back to their home. But, regardless of how she attempted to corner her eldest sister the woman refused to speak to her. She insisted that the only reason for Tara's work and funding currently was for the modifications that could be made to harvesting equipment and pushed out to all the main city fields. She could appreciate Rina's hope that those fields fed the poorest of their people...but the work held no love for Tara. "If we could utilize the energy source I've been working on, it's utilizing the uranium from some of the small metors that we have found. This energ-"

"No...I told you. Utilize the hydroenergy mother's counsel perfected." Rina's voice was still the clear hard volume from before. She never listened to an opinion that differed from what she had been taught by their mother. "Mowen, how is the treasury? This is the year of Diyne, Aerin and the priestess will need the support of the merchants." Tara was once again dismissed by Rina knowing there was so much more she could give.

The dark elf looked to the group from where she leaned against the bookcase. She hated that Rina pulled her for these meetings or the Federation meetings through the year. There were too many people unwilling to state plainly what they desired. The only benefit was the hundreds of pockets she could pilfer capital, an old habit she hadn't fully lost. "The raise in taxes three years ago have taken care of most of the budget. There is a few that I have secured agreement for reduced rates. But, they are looking for some kind of compensation for their assistance."

"How is not assisting in the glorification of Diyne not enough?" The snarky voice belonged to one of the smallest in their group. Even among the women she was covered in a cream veil meant to hide the gold and bronze markings that decorated her entire body. Mowen and Tara both rolled their eyes at the pretentious voice lounging on the sofa.

"Not when it potentially means taking food away from their own families and the church of Diyne already asks for so much." Mowen's sensible voice spoke out. The truth was some of these vendors were looking to still keep lining their pockets. The lady Narcia was another dark elf like Mowen who agreed to provide the silks for all the priestess robes, but she wished for a tax break the following year.

"Grant it." Rina's voice came forward as she looked only at Mowen with all the trust she had for the woman in her ways. "If it is reasonable to you provide me the paperwork to grant it."

"My queen, are you sure? Some of these women are vipers!" Theo rarely dared to even begin contradicting Rina, she regretted it when she received a even more icy look than Tara had moments before.

"Do I question your requests regarding defenses Imperial Bellator?" Rina's voice now sounded angry at the repeated questions or rebuttals. Theodora had hit the top of Rina's patience. Everyone knew of the intense admiration that Theo had for the queen, baring close to obsession. Normally, Rina remained some level of affectionate that gave Theo false hope. But, this was nearly cruel. "Do as I say Mowen. Imperial Bellator...why don't you go patrol the coast this month personally? You still have not been able to find our trespasser? Than why are you even here rather than with the soldiers looking?" It was a rhetorical question. This was Rina angry and everyone sat up straighter knowing that once her temper crested everyone was in danger. Last time she had reached her zenith was when the strange dragon alien came and started spouting off nonsense regarding Diyne bringing possible destruction. They had caught 5 of the followers that had sided with him and marched to the capital. All 5 of them men in a matriarchal society that the event became a public spectacle. Rina's solution to such disloyalty was bloody public executions of all 5 men.

"Now...all of you...you have your assignments. Leave me peace finally."

The other 4 women looked at each other and than bowed their head as a good bye to the queen. Tara's eyes prickled behind her lens. The pressure of Rina was getting to her. The older sister who played with her and listened to her when they were kids was lessening. Tara wasn't the only one who thought so. As t hey closed the door behind them Mowen's arm came affectionately around Tara's hips.

"Don't stress it little one. You know Rina will come back apologizing later. Your her little sister, she adores you...just that intruder...." Mowen looked out the side of her eye towards Aerin. The young woman was still hiding behind her veil even despite how long they had all known each other. Mowen had utilized her own tricks and seen Aerin in her privacy. She grinned inwardly knowing that the veils were nothing more than a mark of shame. As Aerin passed by her there was a momentary tension. Neither woman had ever liked the other despite the friendship forged between the others. Mowen didn't like the pretentious shoe licker, Aerin didn't like what she suspected Mowen got away with.

A few moments later Aerin had passed them and the dark elf returned her attention towards Tara. "She is scared Tara...I know it's hard seeing her like this...I'm worried too..." The voice was soft and she could already feel the tension leaving Tara. It would be so easy to pocket the forgetful woman's id card and investigate into her lab. Mowen's fngers rubbed the edge of the belt that held the chip at her hip. Keep back Mowen...

"You-you are right...but this isn't her." Tara sighed in resignation. I should follow the commands. I can put my research off for a month or two...it will make Rina happy...Tara was already striving once more to limit potential waves her personal ambitions may cause.

"You can always come down by the cost. I have some other backers that may be interested." Without thinking about swiping the id card she instead was thinking about how she could utilize this opportunity for financial logical sense for everyone. The two walked hand in hand, but even in the hour walk out of the palace and through the city towards t heir respective local homes. Neither woman kept anything extensive like the Priestess Aerin in the temple. But, they were neighbors, and when Mowen convinced Tara to at least have tea with her it was unsurprising. They lounged two wooden chairs outlooking the extensive fruitful garden Mowen had in the back of her home.

"Your here so little...you don't even get to enjoy these flowers or their fruits..." Tara was smiling even as she admonished the elder woman.

"I have someone who comes to regularly take care of trees and bushes. You know I don't keep this for myself." Mowen sipped the tea herself from a fragile cup. "Rina's orphanage sends the young ones here to explore and pick the fruits when I am not here."

"She doesn't get a chance to visit them any more. She is always meeting with Theo, and it's not for courtship." Tara opened up as she sipped her own tea. Her pale skin felt the warmth of the sun while Mowen herself reserved herself for the shadows of the patio. This place among the chaos of the capital was always soothing to Tara. "I've been thinking...Mowen, when are you to go off world again?" Tara had been considering this for a long time. She didn't know how much longer she could deal with the stress of her family. She wanted to speak to other scholars across the galaxies, versus only reading second hand reports that Mowen smuggled to her. "I want to go with you...I want to bring more of the information you gather for me back...we are too isolated. It is dangerous." It was not often that Tara addressed her own desires, but this had become something she yearned for more and more since her mother's passing. Seeing the stranger had only made the flame stronger inside her.

((NOT DONE just working on what we talked about - easing Rina's image, revealing more about the girls, esp the first two to work with. How is this so far though?))

Mowen seriously considered the woman before her. Tara had always seemed to isolate herself in the far depths of her labs. But, Mowen had watched her with and without the woman's consent. Her passion for creating technology to ease the lives of their citizens were honest. And Tara spent just as much time as Rina in the local orphanages, for her tutoring the children in sciences and math. Mowen could appreciate what both women were doing while keeping their hands clean. But, since the stranger came Tara had been different. She had been speaking up more in their meetings, and this wasn't the first time some mention had come from her about the outside the planet worlds. Mowen had met those people, Tara could match them in smarts...but wit?

"I will let you know." It was a vague compromise. Mowen knew better than to promise Tara what possibilities there may be. Neither was comfortable with what make transpire in that situation. Not yet.

It was a lull of silence, both seemed please with that silence. For Mowen, Tara was the only one she could have such things with.

It was 3 days letter that Tara received a missive. It informed her that Mowen was not going to be traveling off world. But, she would be having a virtual conference with a handful of members from the federation. For Mowen this seemed like a good starting point for the woman to expose herself to the outside world. Tara could travel to Mowen's home in Atlantis for a short stay and be part of that conference. For Tara, this was enough for now. She packed up a series of odd clothing all which was her routine oversized clothing. She hardly knew how to dress herself to the current fashion despite the many influences. She dressed in a summer jacket and a pair of pants that were wide on her legs. Her blue green hair was the normal fussy mess around her face. Tara traveled by automated skimmer so she was able to travel in the back and continue working through the research paper from the 3 students she was mentoring at the capital university.

It would be a day and half travel even by skimmer to Mowen's home in Atlantis. But, in the skimmer Tara could camp away on the large bed like dais and sip refrigerated beverages from the skimmer's cooler. She only stopped the skimmer in the wooded terrain off of roadside deep into the evening. She couldn't abide by the hum of the motor or vertigo if she woke in the night to the buzzing by scenery. So the skimmer locked itself and it's client inside and waited in the shadows of the moonlight for dawn to approach.
