Shutting the general chat

How do I shut off the general chat window at the top of the page? Its a bit distracting

I'm not sure if you can as a grey name?

Also, it does leave this big bar that you might occasionally accidentally click on. To minimize this occurence, I move where the chatbox is located by clicking in the same gear drop down, "Display mode" all the way at the bottom. You can choose an unobtrusive place like "below forum list" or "sidebar bottom" where that "Enable chat" bar will be less likely to be accidentally clicked on.

Thanks Solo & Goodman. I now have it comfortably at the bottom of the forum now.
