Ron Weasley groaned and slammed his head down on the table in the library, ignoring the odd looks of the people leaving around him. It was already dark outside, very close to curfew time, and the library was close to empty now, but Ron couldn't leave. He had fallen behind on his homework, and Hermione had been far too busy doing her own thing to help him out, whilst Harry had been in exactly the same situation. And so now here Ron was, stuck with 4 or 5 reports to write within the next 2 days, and he had absolutely no idea what to do. The table he was sitting at was covered in books, and he was so stressed and mixed up he'd forgotten everything he knew. Normally he'd be able to do this with enough time, but now he was panicked and the books were like gibberish to him. "Damnit.....what am I gonna do....? What the hell has Hermione been doing this past week? I've barely seen her outside of class....." He groaned and slowly sat up, grabbing another book in one hand, a quill in the other as he started to try and make notes, now totally alone in his little section of the library. He could hear a few people still far off near the library entrance, but he had tucked himself away in a corner to try and avoid being seen, or disturbed.

Hermione was, in fact, not far away. She'd found her favorite window seat in the library, intending to study. After half an hour, though, exhaustion had taken over and she fell asleep with the book open in her lap. Waking up now, groggy still, she looked out the window to see that the grounds had gone dark. Great, I fell asleep. It's just what I get for staying up all night studying different "love spells". I should just give up. But the young witch had never failed at anything that she could recall, certainly not anything that involved magic and studying. And she desperately wanted Ron to love her, both with his emotions and his body. So she kept at it. She'd done all her homework already, and was fairly certain the library was going to close soon, so she stood and gathered her books, not wanting to be caught with the one she'd fallen asleep reading. Hearing a thump nearby, soon followed by Ron's voice, she grinned and headed towards him. "Homework difficult on your own?" she said, her voice teasing, as she slid into the seat across from him.

"Gah!" When he heard Hermione's voice Ron nearly fell out of his seat. He'd been so focused on trying to make some sense of these books that he'd completely tuned out the world around him. And besides, he hadn't really heard Hermione speak to him for so long that it was a bit of a shock in itself. "Well look who it is....finally been able to find some time for me have you? Feh....what's so important that you had to forget about your friends for the past few weeks?" There was just a slight tone of bitterness in Ron's voice, he was rather angry at her ignoring him all the time lately, and now she finally had taken an interest once again it was at the worst time possible. He needed to not be distracted if he had any chance of getting this work done, and even if she offered he didn't dare rely on her to do any of it for him, just incase she forgot about it or figured something else was more important. "So do you want something or did you just come to mock me?"

Hermione stared at him, unable to believe that she'd really been ignoring him. Weeks? Have I been working on this for weeks? she asked herself. Sensing his bitterness, she stood again and started to walk away. As she did, she tossed over her shoulder, "Well, I was going to see if you wanted my help, but since you're clearly in no mood for anyone's company, I'll just see what Harry's up to."

"Well good luck finding him, he's been as elusive as you lately, and whenever I do see him he's so depressed he wont say or do anything except get up and leave..." Ron grumbled and shook his head, glancing at her as she went, then looked back to his books. "So just what have you been doing that's been so much more important than your friends anyway?" There was still that tone of bitterness, but at least he was opening up slightly....not much sure, but it was definately better than nothing. Then again, given that his only two friends had been ignoring him and he was under so much stress from homework, it was no surprise he was a little bitter.

Hermione glanced over her shoulder as she heard him speak. "Oh, I'm sorry. Were you talking to me? I was under the distinct impression that you were annoyed with me and wanted me to go away. Something about ignoring you." Yes, she was smart, but PLEASE! She's still a teenage girl. And with his words, not to mention his tone, he was just begging for her to lay into him. This was mild compared to....no. The plan. Might be nicer if he wasn't already angry with her when she was finally able to put it into action. Merlin's beard, he'd be angry enough after. Well, she thought with a smirk, hopefully not until a few hours after.

((I am SOOO sorry for the delayed response. March wasn't very nice to me.))
