Please read my whole thread. Good Dungeon Masters aren't afraid of reading!
Heya! I'm looking for an experienced DM who has ran many RPs, either for groups or individuals. They should be familiar with both the 5e system of D&D, and the use of online tools such as Roll20 or Discord Bots (though I prefer the former due to being able to use maps). I already have a character in mind whom I would like to play, she is one of my favorite character whom I have used in previous D&D games. While she has several defining traits, I'm sure we can make her fit into just about any setting! I am somewhat partial to traditional fantasy, Conan-esque sword and sorcery-type settings, and Early Modern Fantasy (so like 1600/1700s but with fantasy elements). I've also recently gotten a craving for Modern Fantasy, with an occult/Lovecraftian theme!
The world we play in is yours to decide, though I do have several D&D world maps for you to pick from if you would prefer to build a setting around those instead! I also have a Roll20 room with tokens available for your use!
A few important things to note here:
- I would like my DM to have a solid grasp on the English language, with grammar that is roughly equal to or better than what you see in this post. My ability to be immersed in a story is somewhat tied to the writing ability of the DM. It takes me out of the world of the game when I have to pause to decipher what you're saying or am jarred by a poorly constructed sentence. Sorry if that makes me sound like a snob, but it's just how I feel.
- This is not inherently a smutty RP. My character, at least, is not inherently lascivious, and will not be scouring the land for sexual partners. She will have an actual goal, an objective she wishes to accomplish that does not involve leaping into someone's bed. That being said, I am not opposed to sexual RP when it happens. Characters have sex in normal games, the only difference here is that we RP them out instead of fading to black. That's the best way to describe this RP, in fact! It's a normal game with the occasional dirty scene!
- My personal preference for Story vs Smut can vary between 80/20 to even 90/10 if I'm really not in the mood, as too much smut really gets boring to me. I'm here for an actual adventure, Just like the title says! I don't like feeling pressured to do smut OOCly just because the DM is a barely restrained horndog. That being said, if a player joins up who is a bit more lustful, then I've no problem with you letting them indulge their passions with NPCs, or possibly even my own character if they connect!
- I'm also okay with Bad Endings, but I should note that as the DM, you should never be trying to make these happen to either me or the other players. Fair Play is very important to me. Don't unfairly boost a monster's saving throw to negate their bad rolls just because you really want them to win, I hate that. And yes, people have done this to me before. I prefer Bad Endings be reset once they've played out, at least in 1x1s.
- Above all, I want a world that behaves like a real, believable setting! With people who act like people, with motives and dreams of their own, instead of horny porn actors/actresses just waiting to plow/be plowed. I just want a game where anything (within sanity) can happen, but it isn't unnaturally forced by the narrative. You know, like a regular adventure game!
- I do enjoy using stuff like Unearthed Arcana and the other extras, but I'm open to discussing this with any potential DMs!
All of these rules and conditions probably made me come across as hostile, but I promise you I'm not! I'm just a little tired from dealing with a lot of the same crap over and over, and so I'm just laying all of my cards on the table here so we can all have a good time!
