This takes place in a custom universe that blends together elements of various Final Fantasy titles. Many of these will be left intentionally vague unless it directly impacts the story, which primarily focuses on the life of Gold Saucer employees. Although characters can be male, female, genderfluid, non-binary, etc., the title refers to a term that many aspiring young women use who dream of a glitzy life: "I wanna go be a Gold Saucer Girl and live in the lap of luxury!" However, that type of life comes with a cost, and many of them end up as escorts, prostitutes, and exotic dancers.

In this universe, Gold Saucer is a giant floating island, similar in appearance to Cloud City from Star Wars, but with the metal exteriors coated in gold. It is primarily an enormous entertainment district with casinos, nightclubs, brothels, world-renowned restaurants, luxury resorts, chocobo race tracks, battle simulators, arcades, concerts, conventions, seasonal attractions, and the like. Towards the outer edge there are rows of skyscrapers housing high-end condos and penthouses with views of the ocean below, and a main area called Wonder Square at the exact center of the Saucer. There are also docking stations along the bottom side for airships coming and going, and the entire structure is held up by a modified version of the Crystal Sky Engine, the latest in airship flight technology from the minds at Shinra-Magitek Industries, Inc.

Gold Saucer may be able to fly, however, due to it's size, it remains at low altitude, largely stationary floating above a chain of uninhabited tropical islands dubbed the Paradise Isles. This archipelago is owned by the same company that runs Gold Saucer, Manderville Resorts, Inc. The beaches, jungles, and mountains of these islands are used as extensions of the Saucer, reserved exclusively for customers and employees. Occasionally monsters might roam upon the shores or the cave systems or troublemakers may cause problems, but these situations are handled by G-Sec, a shortened name for Gold Saucer Security Services Division.

Your characters can be anyone you want, reworked characters from existing Final Fantasy games or completely original ones. I am going to be playing three characters to start:

An alternate version of Zack Fair, a military veteran and currently a G-Sec Officer. He has longer hair in this version that he keeps in a ponytail.
My Miqo'te from FFXIV named Kogatomaru Kanzo, a disgraced samurai who was exiled from his village. He's made Gold Saucer his home the last few months, earning a modest fortune as a champion in the Colosseum.
An alternate version of Cid Highwind, a pilot and mechanic who works at Docking Station 7 and helps manage shuttle flights down to the islands below.

I'm interested to hear your ideas. This likely will not be one of those "save the world" type stories, focusing more on the day-to-day lives and struggles of our characters. While there can certainly be villains, they should only be a local threat to keep the story close to Gold Saucer. One idea is to adapt Don Corneo as a crime boss that G-Sec is investigating, but thus far has not secured enough evidence to take action. Perhaps some of you could play females who are caught in Corneo's grasp. And I would definitely love for someone to play Aerith for Zack :D.

One more bump for interest. One idea for a story is to involve the Turks in a corporate espionage plot between Shinra and Manderville. Rufus Shinra III used similar methods to absorb all of Magitek's assets, and now that his son, Rufus Shinra IV, has recently inherited his father's company, he wants to do the same with Manderville.
