(Pally's intro, moved from PM)

Tristan was nervous, to say the least. He didn't see himself as being ready for the task that had been assigned to him by his guild of mages. But with the increasing disappearance of villagers and appearance of monsters, something had to be done. That must have been what prompted he and several of his order to head out onto the ocean, hoping to capture a creature and examine it. Try to understand just what was happening across the land, causing the increase in unrest and chaos. This was what brought him to the small chamber in his guild hall, looking down upon the blue-skinned humanoid woman that lay on the table. His elders had assured him that their enchantments kept the creature unconscious, but Tristan didn't buy it completely. But, to be truthful, he had no choice. He had to examine this...thing, while his guildmates were out searching for other answers.

Tristan's inexperience showed in his age. He was a handsome young man just a year past the age of twenty, ranking him as the youngest mage in his guild. His face was well defined and free of the lines of age. Bright blue eyes seemed to capture and shimmer with any light available, and he had a short mop of brown hair. Long, royal blue robes draped down over his tall, firm body. The robes held little decorations, as he had yet to truly earn any. Tristan took another glance around the otherwise empty room before stepping forward to get a closer look at the creature...

The as yet nameless 'creature' was certainly not happy. The last thing she remembered was going to sleep in her cove and the next thing she knew, she was waking up strapped to a table. She was nearly human in appearance, the only difference being the hue of her skin and the lack of hair. Instead, her head was adorned with several large apendages that gave the appearance of long wavy locks that extended to her waist. Most humans did not realize they were prehensile until it was too late. Apparently these humans, she assumed they were humans at least, were similarly ignorant of this fact. They also didn't seem to know about the even longer, though significantly weaker, appendages hidden underneath her skin and woven through her muscles that she could extend and retract through special pores. When her prey was close enough, she would use these to surprise her captors and draw them in before wrapping them in the shorter, stronger tentacles growing from her scalp.

Suddenly, her plotting was interrupted by the appearance of a young man. She had to settle for glaring at him as she couldn't really communicate. Her kind could breathe air, but they didn't have the capacity for speach. Though she wasn't feeling short of breath, she felt groggy and was having trouble focusing on him. It must have been the after effects of whatever they had done to her, but it didn't stop her from executing her plan. Snakelike tendrils shot out from just above her elbows and snatched off his feet. As they drew him closer, a few of the stronger thicker ones wrapped around his arms and legs holding him so that they were face to face. Her viscious smile let him know that his immediate future wasn't going to be too pleasant.

Tristan had been taking a step about once every minute or so, extremely tentative to grow closer to the creature laid out before him. So you could only imagine his surprise and the rush of adrenaline when a set of tendrils ejected from her body and wrapped themselves firmly around his ankles. He found his feet pulled out from underneath him and the jarring collision with the ground distracted him just enough for her to bring him closer. He flicked his wrist and muttered some incantations, shooting sparks at the tendrils. But by that point it was already a bit too late. He was close enough so that some of her stronger tendrils could grab at his arms and legs, hoisting him up and attempting to hold him in place. Arms and legs thrashed to the best of his ability, and his mind raced to think of a spell he could cast without much effort. The smirk on her face certainly didn't help things though.

"Let me go!" he shouted in protest, giving her a determined look as he continued to try and tug his arms free.

The creatures head was swimming, and this man's unintelligible yelling wasn't helping any. She swooned a bit under the magic's effect, and the man's weight proved too much for her. She didn't let go, but he dropped down until their noses were almost touching. Her expression changed from angry to surprised as her cheeks were colored with a darkening blue. She was blushing! Well, he was fairly handsome even to her.

Tentatively, she reached her hand out to touch his face. The combined effects of the tranquilizing spell and their sudden closeness had her mesmeried. As her hand brushed his cheek, her frame seemed to shake a little and a smile appeared on her face. She appeared to be silently giggling.
