It's a platform that compares itself to skype and teamspeak, but is basically a fancy chatroom system with voice support and a few other things and has a pretty nifty layout. Servers where you invite who you want, split chat rooms, direct messages, massive communities, almost whatever you want if you look far enough.

For communication, it's great. Quick messages, long histories, even a good spot to roleplay on if you like as long as you can work around a 2000 character limit per post. It supports a lot more than just roleplay, though - gaming communities, hobby stuff and even professional platforms have been known to use it for all sorts of purposes.

There's also plenty of options to control the situation of your room, and there's less invasion of privacy compared to Skype.
