I am trying to build up my library but I'm having a hell of a time deciding on things to play, if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!! I'd also appreciate a brief explanation of why you enjoy the game and why you'd recommend it, tia!

It depends on what geners you like, but I will give some recommendations for games I enjoyed:
Skyrim
Mass Effect (only the first two are avilable trough Steam, three and Andromedayou will need to getsome other way)
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (a true classic)
Nier: Automata
Ori and the Blind Forest
Dust: an Elysian Tail
Grim Fandango Remastered
Perception (a very unique survival-horror game, where you play a BLIND character)
