For this idea to work it is required that your character start out as an AI without a body, only an operating system in his house that linked to his own advanced workshop. You can be a good person and simply try to help other humans see that AI's are people or you can jailbreak some abused AI's and allow them to do what they want. More than likely by then my character will support you no matter the path.
