The large Victorian styled plantation house sat on the outskirts of Savannah. From the outskirt of the property it looked quite normal. As he neared, he saw the guards prowling the edge. Two wolves walked along the property lines growling at him as he approached. He glared and fished out a coin. Letting one of them see it. The two parted and he was allowed into the second checkpoint this time two figures gave him a smile pointing to the door.
Corvus Lancaster stepped in and shot his cuffs and saw other guards posted. He moved quietly to the library and looked at the books that lined the shelves. He heard the shouting of the meeting in progress. He had an idea of what it was about it but did not care at this very second. Pulling out a pocket watch he checked the time. Thomas had better hurry up it was three am and he was due to talk and had to get home to sleep. It had been a long night already and he still had to deal with the council.
While he waited, he read over his notes for his part of this farce. A butler came in and bowed before turning on his heal and leading him to the large double doors. Once he was there, he hated the feeling that was running in his core. Pushing through the door he approached the podium and stood waiting till the twelve faces nodded for him to continue. He held out his hand and his second in command handed him the file. “I was called earlier this week to give an update on our most pressing case. We have caught and apprehended Jack LaTour for his involvement in the mortal slave trade. Upon seizing his assets, we found he has tipped the scale in favor for us to hand him to the Lycan pack for trial. I am recommending we do that and afterward he be sent to the north for his sentence.”
While he waited for a response from the council he glanced around and saw that some of the council had family here. Odd given that this was a boring meeting with a status update on a vampire that had used both the wolves and humans for various forms of slavery.
