"Cut!!" James responded, anger clearly lined in the tone of his voice. Several of the extras and Actors let out sighs of complaint and fatigue. It was James Quinns third day of shooting of "The Heart of the Sun." A coming of age Drama about an Graduating High School Student who seeks her own path in life, and the strange people she meets in her dorm room. After his last two misses a science fiction movie called "Lines" and a Sports drama named "Fist of the Otaku." He was at the end of his rope. The few investors that stuck with him after those two failures, were laying the last bits of pressure on him, and his budget was low as ever. It was lucky that the cinema companies were still willing to distribute some of his work.
The worst of it came in the form of actors he had no choice to higher. Many of the talented actors he had come to know in the industry had lost faith in his ability to create a blockbuster. It was apperent that they forgot his victories a few years ago. The dregs he could only afford, were horrible, and some of them seemed as less enthusiastic then even the extras.
There was one talented girl though, and obviously that was the lead in the movie. As an actress, she was brilliant. Extraordinarily talented. Every facial expression was precise. Every Emotion. James recognized immediately that she could draw in an audience. Draw them into the world he shall create.
For a director like James, who was himself precise, concise, expressive, even at the most crucial times inventive. It should have been a match made in heaven. Instead it was more like a bickering married couple on the brink of divorce! There was always an argument everyday they went to shoot or scheduling.
"For the Last time, your portrayal of Julia's character comes off of flat for this scene. Come on you can do this!" James said with a Hint of anger at his voice. It was the tenth take, and it still wasn't to what James envisioned. He thought he got his point across.
