It was slightly cool evening in the city. People were either on their way home from work/going to work, or heading to clubs and bars for partying. Typical stuff, and the main streets were quite busy as was the metro below. The side roads and alleyways were a lot quieter, and were great shortcuts if you knew where you were going. They were also sketchy due to the people who traversed them when wanting to travel in secret.

There was a hidden and unknown threat within this city, one that was slowly growing. Mechanis. Robots built to look like people, but were entirely mechanical and weapon used. Few knew of their existence, and those who did never lived to tell about it. Those who do live are thought of as crazy. People dying in the back alleys wasn’t uncommon, but there had been a string of recent incidents that were hidden from thepublic. The authorities were deeply puzzled by it, and didn’t want to incite panic within the citizens. Deaths that were irregular, right down to the very method. The victims were ordinary people, just random citizens who were unlucky enough to see something they shouldn’t have.

These Mechanis often utilized the alleys to relay goods or instructions, a ay to keep out of the open. Tonight was such a night that something was going down. A young man who looked to be maybe 16 was loitering around with a briefcase. He had scraggly brown hair and brown eyes, and wore casual clothing. He looking to be just anyone. He wasn’t just anyone, however. He was waiting for someone, and whoever had emerged into this backroad was not who he was looking for.

Just an unfortunate citizen who would have to be disposed of. Though the target hadn’t seen anything, Theodore’s orders were absolute. There was to be zero percent risk. He looked at the newcomer with a blank gaze, sizing him up and getting ready to attack. I’m one swift but quickened movement he was already up on the poor unsuspecting man, slamming him against the wall of a nearby building. It would have been quicker to just kill him outright, but where was the fun in that? Though it had no concept of fun in a normal sense, it could pass the time waiting by fooling around. He held his target’s neck firmly to keep him from screaming, his lifeless eyes and blank expression twisting into a sort of amusement.
