Nami stared at the pasta sauce which was currently bubbling in the pot. She had been staring at it for quite a long time, looking almost as if she was not going to discover that it was already boiling, and ready to eat. There were many times that she was like this nowerdays, her research now totally dominating all parts of her life. Despite the fact that she had two... 'recious' little girls for her to care for, she could not get past what she was doing. And why not? It could change the world, forever embed her imprint on the scintific world. But most of all.... it could provide her with something all humans searched for.
Ever since she had lost her job, she had been furiously at work on her own labrotory, making sure to do her best to cur as much spending as she could in order to fund her own research. The sheer fact that she now slep ton the couch and allowed her two little girls to sleep in their own bedroom should have been proof enough that she loved them. Inside though, there was always a war going on. She raised them well, knew all of their conditions and was practially their doctor. THe perfect test subjects really, but then there was that innert feeling inside of her that doing this to kin was nothing more than monsterous, someplace she was unable to bring herself to do.
Only the thump of the heater turning on and the small rattling of the house did she snap back to reality, as she finished stirring up the sauce and moved to pour it into a large bowl, and placed it on their kitchen table. "Fiye! Alice! Dinner's on the table..." She yelled out to them as she moved to grab three bowls, and filled them with the pasta and sat them down at the three chairs at the table, before sitting down. Grades were out today, but he wasn't really worried about her little girls. They should be smart just like their mother, and if they were doing poorly... well, she'd be able to figure it out and punish accordingly.
