Hey everybody! I'm looking for an advanced-literate partner who wants to work together to build an original and unique fantastical world, and explore the lives of characters within it. I want to really dive into the details of a fictional culture, its customs and myths and conflicts both internal and external. And of course, I want there to be plenty of tasty smut involved
I'd very much like to get away from tired Tolkien and D&D ripoff tropes with this, as well as the faux-medieval/renaissance western Europe pastiche we're all so used to seeing. I'd much prefer this society we're developing be more Bronze Age or Iron Age, more tribal or early feudal, and decidedly not pseudo-Christian. Influences from European cultures are fine, but I'd love to see them blended with stuff from elsewhere, and elements of pure fiction. Maybe, perhaps, we can even have most or all of the characters not be white? Just a thought, lol. I'd love for the world at large to be more low-fantasy, with the drama and conflict focused primarily on human characters rather than magic or the supernatural; and, when that stuff does show up, I'd love to see it take shapes that depart from the same Tolkien and D&D tropes I previously complained about.
As for how the smut plays into things, I'm sure this fictional culture has its own norms and customs surrounding sex. We should explore that just like everything else. Perhaps in some ways, this society is more liberal than we're accustomed to, but if so, why? What rules do exist? How does sex influence other aspects of daily life for this people?
Sorry this is sort of a disorganized mess of thoughts at the moment, and that I don't have much of a plot in mind yet. I'm hoping in the process of talking through the setting, we'll develop more of a sense for the characters and conflicts that will be a good fit. Let me know if this sounds like a fun exercise, and we can see what shakes out!
