Kai couldn't help but feel bright and cheery this time of day. The sun was up in the sky and the birds were singing, it was a day right out of a fairly tale. The young male stood before his mother, listening to her instructions, he was to head to his grandmother's house to take her fresh goods she had requested from her daughter. Kai's mother leaned forward, kissing her son on the cheek before sending him off. The boy's dark ears perked on his head as he giggled and turned around, starting down the path to his grandmother's house tucked away in the foot of the mountains. His mother had carefully dressed him for the occasion, a red cloak hanging around his shoulders and a hood to conceal his ears.
The catboy walked slowly down the path, he had a long some before the sun went down, and the scarier things only came out at night. The boy's black hair was covered with the red hood and his thin body, dressed in simple clothing designed and woven by his mother was covered by a long red cloak, the furry dark furred tail sticking out the back, waving idly as he walked from side to side. The boy was attractive for his age, and dressed fairly scantily, his mother had not been worried about anything bad happening, she knew her boy and knew that he could make it to his nana's house easily and quickly, she hadn't guessed that her son would get distracted along the way.
The neko boy's golden eyes zipped around, looking at every bright flower and every little animal that raced by, this was the first time his mother had ever, ever let him out alone, she had told him stories of leaves deep in the woods that would eat little kitties like himself. Kai was never safe, and his mother raised him with a stern hand, though he was mischievous and flighty, and often escaped the house, though often he could feel things watching him. Kai had always written it off as squirrels or something else. The boy moved idly down the beaten path, making sure to take every turn he needed, his satchel hanging from his side and his cloak covering him from prying eyes, though the tips of his ears stuck out the hoot, flickering on occasion whenever the catboy heard a sound. The boy continued on his stroll to grandmother's house, taking longer than he should have.
It began to get dark and Kai began to feel a little panick get into him, his old grandmother was probably expecting him by now. The boy began to hurry as the bright sunlight began to fade, starting to see things moving through the corners of his eyes.
