The mattress at her back was cold and scentless. The pillow beneath her head granted hardly any support. But Rue dealt with all of it. After all, she was a slave. She sighed lightly as she sat up and combed her fingers through her dark red hair that brushed the tops of her thighs when she stood up. She was barely clothed, wearing a simple t-shirt that barely covered her essentials. She knew her master would be awaking soon and the little succubus needed to get ready for him. As much as she hated it...and yet enjoyed it. Shaking her head, she slipped out of the tiny bed to the small dresser that held all her clothing. She slipped on a micro-skirt and a leather tube top and matching knee-high boots. Her collar jingled lightly around her throat as she brushed out her hair and then washed her face in the basin. Feeling she looked pretty enough as she could be, the succubus soon sat on her bed, awaiting her master's orders, almost shivering in delight.

"Your secrets...I demand them." Vallios growled in an undertone.

The spirit writhed and howled beneath the man's out-stretched hand. A grim look of determination was etched into Vallios' face as he focused the power of the shadows, the force of his will onto the spirit. The gaseous incorporeal shade continued to twist and writhe as the threads of it's being were slowly unraveled. The act of severance was a torturous one, and guaranteed results.

Vallios barked an order next, knowing he needed the strength of another to break the will of this particular soul. With a deep breath and a sweep of his left hand Vallios diverted the flows of power, instead using them to activate the demonic leash that he had around his favorite minion.

"Your master is in need of aid." Vallios whispered, knowing the succubus would hear him.

Rue felt the power concentrate on her and the leash activated, sending a chill down her spine. She heard her master's words and quickly stood and walked in his direction. It didn't take her long to reach him, her head slightly tipped down though her body posture was straight and tempting. She moved over to him, not touching him until she was given permission. She noticed the spirit within his grasp and she closed her eyes a moment at the sight. She wasn't disgusted by it, but it was certainly painful to watch, even with her experienced eyes. Turning to look upon her master's face, she spoke in a quiet voice that was submissive.

"What do you need of me, Master? I am here to serve."

"This one is rather....Damnation."

The spirit's ethereal shape contracted inwards, collapsing upon itself. Vallios let out a low sigh and then lashed out, forcing his hand into the mass of writhing shadowed ectoplasm. Ear-shattering screams filled the air as Vallios corrupted the lesser being, bending it to his will. The air crackled with demonic energy and then Vallios reached out, placing one hand on Rue's chest.

Instantly Rue became a conduit through which Vallios channeled abyssal powers. Bolts of purple energy began to rip outwards, blasting chunks out of the stone walls of the chamber as the ritual reached it's crescendo. After what felt like hours Vallios stepped back and let out a soft chuckle.

Floating in the air now was a semi-solid smoky black humanoid figure. Faceless, but with two slits that glowed a sinister yellow where eyes should be. The shade just stared mindlessly at Vallios, awaiting orders. Vallios banished it with a wave of the hand, willing it to become yet another of his sentinels.

"The souls have been rather weak as of late..." vallios muttered.

Rue listened to her master and watched the spirit break down upon itself like a building as it imploded slowly. She watched as Vallios struck his hand into the shadowy mass that belonged to the decaying spirit. The screams assaulted her ears and she winced, blocking out the sounds as best she could. But before long, her master's hand was placed to her chest and she felt the rush of pure, dark energy rippling through her body which acted as a medium. Her breath stopped for a moment as the energy moved through her and then outwards. When her master removed his hand she let out the softest of sighs, shaking herself of the tingling that erupted along her skin, raising goosebumps. She looked to the floating figure, watching it curiously before her master banished her and then spoke to her.

"So it would seem, my master. As it were, they are not strong enough to resist you."

She said softly, her expression soft yet blank as she looked at her master and then looked away.

"The siphon may need adjusting...But that's neither here nor there on today's agenda."

Vallios let out a sigh of frustration and turned, walking away from Rue. He shook his head once, clearing a few stray wisps of hair away from his handsome pale visage. Vallios was truly a specimen of mortal, or semi-mortal beauty. He stood at roughly 6'3, his body was slender but muscular, his build reminiscent of a panther. A mane of raven hair fell down to his chest, long silken strands that framed his face perfectly. He had a strong but not over-imposing jaw, and thin lips that were accustomed to a vicious smirk. Though, the most noticeable feature he had was definitely his eyes. A pair of vivid topaz orbs that burned like liquid fire.

Today Vallios was dressed in not but a pair of black leather pants and a mid calf-length black leather reverend jacket. It was obvious that he was far too busy with experimentation to perform such mundane tasks as picking out an acceptable set of garments. Vallios did not beckon for or order Rue to follow, he knew she would.

She said nothing, simply remaining silent as she knew she was suppose to be. His scent washed over her gently, so intoxicating in its uniqueness. She felt her heart squeeze, knowing that her affections were possibly ill-placed. He took care of her, yes, but he wasn't one to want a slave as more than a slave...But still, at least she had her fantasy, even if it would never come true. She listened to his sigh, heard his footsteps walking away from her. But she didn't pause in the slightest, following behind him almost eagerly, though it didn't show on her face. She look in his features in silence, though she didn't look upon his face. She always studied him whenever she got the chance. She kept slightly behind him, as a servant should, her thoughts wandering in the slightest as a shiver of anticipation washed over her skin. As much as she cared for Vallios, she hoped she wouldn't be the focus of his frustration.
