Question Help clarifying where to list transgender request

Heyo~ Already asked someone else and they said a trans-girl could make a request thread in the Female request section, but just trying to get clarification! There aren't any tags for it, so it'd hafta be listed in the Title, yup yup.

Also, hermaphrodites are futas, yea? They got all the parts?
Seems like it's hard to keep track of the labels across sites, cause people use so many different variants!

Ooh. On F-list, futa was used as a synonym for herms, since in most mangas, futas had both cock and vagina.

The question is more about like, the labels of shemales and traps. Shemales are generally used for transwomen (and also used on F-list, but for some reason, is separated from transgender). Traps in real life are supposed to be crossdressers (so male-identifying but looks female and vice versa). But sometimes people confuse it to be transgender. But a trap seems more similar to a femboy which would be in the male RTs, ye ye?

Just makin' sure that a "shemale" would be in female RTs. Is that correct?

Oh no no, the discussion is welcome :D

Most people usually categorize transwomen and shemales together. Wonderin' why ya wouldn't think shemale would go in female RT. Or when ya say trans women, are ya thinking post-op trans women? Er wait, that'd just be a woman then... Oh, it's easier to ask this way! Would a pre-op trans woman be in Female RT or NB RT? Haha! Perfect question!

Shemale is specifically pornographic terminology, sexualizing transgenders. Transgender is a legitimate gender identity and for story purposes would be accepted as their identifying gender outside of the purely sexual context. Transgender characters can engage in sexual acts but they are not sexualized the way shemales and futas are. Same as the difference between futa and hermaphrodite; one is hyper sexualized and the other is a real-life physical orientation.

I agree that I think for ease of finding partners, pre-op transgenders would go in NB.

In part that, yes. In part it's about expectation - people generally come to the female request section for a specific set of genitalia.

Still, I would probably be more likely to leave a character who was a pre-op transwoman in the female request section than a shemale, in part because of the expectations that come with the difference in language and the way that people are likely to treat the character. A pre-op transwoman's male presenting genitalia may not really be a part of the sex as a focus (or not in a way that's not meant to be a character driven look at trans-ness) where shemale is vastly more of a kink-focused framing/focus on the penis as a sexual organ for penetration for me and would therefor be moved to NB.

edit: Goodman hit about all the points I was bringing forward.

Ooh... Guess it's probably best to just put a request thread in both sections while clarifying that the character will be trans! Thanks for the helps, y'all~

Also, think about your audience, that's who the tags are actually for. I play MxM, so I'm looking for male-identifying. Trans men are more realistic, so I completely accept them being listed as Male with a typed explanation of the the anatomy that will be used in RP.

When it comes to terms like futa, herm, cuntboy, etc, I consider those more unrealistic and kinks, and it gets muddy. IRL respectful LGBTQ+ philosophy doesn't mesh well with online kink physical sexes. In fantasy smut environments, I read 'NB' as more anatomy than psychological gender, while it can also be psychological irl. I'm a bit sqeemish about combining a realistic genderfluid person along with herm tentacle monsters as NB. So, be explicit in your written description.

So, to get the interest that you want, I'd suggest posting in the Female thread and explain she's trans (explain her gender-presentation and anatomical status unless you want to do it in PMs every time). I'd also post in NB thread and specify she's female-identifying in the headline.

I have a completely separate mindset for thinking about gender/sex on RP forums than I do IRL. Haha. Being explicit never hurts.
