Emma was not one to usually walk the streets in search of prey. As inhuman as she was, she still clung to her values, unlike some of her kin who preferred to live like their role demanded, hiding in shadows and coming out at night to feast. The sun did hurt her, but she didn't let that stop her from having a job and a proper home. She did avoid company, however, as her lack of aging would soon become apparent to anyone who stayed for too long, forcing her into quite a lonesome existence.
That night, however, her more predatory instincts were in full. Animal blood can only satisfy you for so long. She made dents in the snow with her boots as she walked, aimlessly, just hoping to find someone alone. The cold didn't bother her, but she still wore a long, black coat, which would hopefully draw attention away from her eyes, glinting red from hunger.
"There. The couple in the alley. I can kill one and take the other. No, Emma, you're not a beast. you can do this without murder."
She thought, as she passed by the alley, hesitating, but ultimately deciding to give them a pass.
