It had been a long and emotion day. Alycia wanted nothing more to do then climb into her queen bed, wrap under the covers and close her eyes. Going through her fathers effects was proofing to be a bit more emotional then she had thought. She wasn't overly close with him, the talked every once in a while, mostly on birthdays or holidays. He had always been closet to her older brother Rick, the one who carries the family name down. Not that she cared. She had swallowed that pill long ago and she had always been more of a mothers daughter anyways. That had hit her hard. Two months after her 18th birthday. She missed her graduation from high school but she had always believe that she was watching down on her. Now that her father had passed 7 years later she felt like he would be keeping his eyes on her brother. Who had been absent while she sorted out all the affairs that wasn't mentioned in the will.
Alycia was only meant to be staying in the states for 2 weeks, her home being in Australia but with little to no help from her brother, everything was left to her. Well why would her brother help? He got the big business and a huge chunk of money (All money in her fathers accounts was split evenly but each getting a few million). The large house was left to them both and everything inside was for then to arrange between them. It seemed all her father cared about was the bushiness, which it had also been. Something else she got used to quickly.
There was just so much at home that was never sorted out. She had figured her father would had someone organised things a little more considered he lived alone but that wasn't the case. Closing the lid to what felt like her hundredth box of papers she slid it to one side of the room. The rubbish pile. Most of it was junk, old notes or letters that was years out dated. Anything she thought was important for the business she put aside and would be taking it over in the next day or so, once she was done with the office space. Standing up she stretched out and flicked the light switches and headed up the stairs. With it being such a big house she had a habit of keeping the doors locked behind her. She hated the idea or people walking in unannounced. Even more so with the nosy neighbors that lived next door, always butting in when it's never wanted.
With a push of button some soothing classical music echoed through the bathroom as she twisted the taps which squeaked as she turned them on, filling the oval marble bath with hot water. It wasn't long before she was neck deep in the welcoming liquid that helped but her mind at ease. how long she staid in there? She wasn't sure but her fingers where wrinkly and the water was cool. "Time to get out..." She said to herself as she placed each foot in turn on the cold blue bathmat. Grabbing her robe she wrapped it around her slim, slender body and tied the belt around her waist. Grabbing her hairbrush from the the counter she headed into the attached guest room which she had claimed as hers. She sat in front of the dressing table only focused on her reflection as she brushed out any tangles from her golden locks.
