Rosalia Cullen ducked around a corner, seconds before the wood beside her head splintered and she heard footsteps running away, and cries of fear. She swallow a panicked breath and stared forward, wide eyed. What was she going to do? The vampire had a human, and was trying to take them somewhere, it was now or never to save them. Rose rounded the corner and took off down the alley after the man with the older teen, around her age, slung over his shoulder. The cobblestones smacked under her feet as she thought of how to go about this. She couldn't shoot without risking hitting the woman. Rose cursed and quickly tied her long dark mahogany hair up in a bun while she ran, her academy uniform skirt bouncing around her thighs.
The vampire rounded a corner and she followed, skidding a bit in her brown loafers. She stopped for a second, seeing where they were headed, and nearly choked. It was a large, but abandoned cathedral on the edge of town, deep in the ghetto, its spires tall but crumbling. This place had been the setting for many scary stories when she was a child, she didn't like it. The stone was dark and aged, a condemnation sign hanging by the entrance. The vampire lifted one of the heavy wooden doors open and slipped in without any effort. Rose stood for a moment contemplating what to do, this could obviously be a trap, but what choice did she have? Quietly she took in the surrounding area before slipping inside. To her relief the vampire stood alone at the altar, below the high dark rafters, a shadow of where a large cross would have been, long since removed, in front of him. The woman in his grasped screamed as he gripped her tightly, a plan formed in the huntress' mind.
She raised her pistol and shot a bullet right into the side of the altar, causing debris to explode and the vampire to turn and look at her, it was all she needed. Her eyes met his and for a brief moment he seemed confused, realizing she'd missed on purpose until one of her blue eyes flash an unnatural bright green, energy swirled around her before rushing at the vampire and whirl-winding around him. The vampire began to scream and dropped his prey as his limbs slowly began to petrify. The strange woman ran around him to Rose who quickly positioned her behind the huntress. It was a few moments before the vampire had become a complete statue, and rose raised her pistol and fired, exploding his now stone head into a plethora of rock chunks.
Rose turned and looked at the woman. "Are you okay-?" She panted a bit, tired from the chase and using her ability. The woman nodded. "Thank you so much, I don't know what-" Just then a feral cry erupted from the rafters just before another, more raggedy looking vampire jumped down, followed by two more forming a triangle around the duo. Rose swallowed, she'd walked right into a hive, as the hunters called it. She raised her gun and shot the one between them and the door between the eyes giving the woman a shove. "Run!" and she obeyed, scurrying out the door. One of the remaining vampires moved to follow but she gave it a swift kick to the head, causing it to turn on her. The huntress moved to shoot, but the other vampire grabbed both of her arms from behind digging its fingers into her flesh and drawing blood. She whimpered in pain but kicked the other vampire once again, just before two more descended from the rafters, her blood ran cold, she couldn't fend off this many by herself. The one holding her released one arm just to bash her over the head with his fist, causing rose to stumble and fall to the ground. She raised her gun, just to have one of the others step on her wrist with a force that caused her to cry out in pain. If she managed to get out of this she'd surely be scolded by all those who could possibly scold her. She looked up just in time to see a flash of a hand then feel it clamp down on her throat lifting her off her feet. She kicked her legs trying to escape but it was no use, this is how it would send.
