Neither his parents nor a doctor could really explain it, all they could do was try to keep him cool and comfortable and hope for the fever to pass. Besides being feverish and tired he didn't seem to be too bad at least so he hadn't been taken to hospital. Finally though, it was Friday afternoon and Nate had finally began to feel better. His body itself was still hot, infact hotter than ever, but he didn't feel feverish within himself, if anything he felt....great. He had more energy than he could ever remember having, and his appetite had reasserted itself with a vengeance, having eaten three helpings of food made by his parents before returning to his room, his parents insisting he continue to get some rest.
As the afternoon went on it was time for students to be returning from school, Nate glancing out of his window. He felt a little weird now, but put it down to just eating too much. But as he began to watch a few students walking down the street he felt an odd....pulse...inside of his body. He clutched at his chest, gasping slightly, then groaning as an odd sensation shot through his entire body. Every muscle was twitching and tingling.
When he looked out the window again he saw one of his friends from school, Kira. He didn't know why the girl was his friend, she was the kind of girl who could have gotten anyone she wanted after all, though he was thankful for her friendship. She was kind and being friends with her kept the bullies off his back as a bonus. But looking at her now....the more he looked at her the stranger his body felt. He couldn't help almost growling slightly, his clothes suddenly feeling tighter as his muscles gave a slight bulge. Without even thinking he had opened up the window of his bedroom, not even realising he was crawling out of it, his body moving by itself.
The boy dropped from the second storey window to the ground, yet suffered no ill effects from it. He looked up at Kira again and growled, then with inhuman speed had shot across the road, grabbing Kira and pulling her into an alleyway between two houses, around the back of one of them into a secluded back yard, holding Kira against the wall of the house. "K-Kira..." Nate panted heavily, then groaned, his muscles bulging again, but this time they didn't stop. As he held onto Kira, Nate's entire body began to grow. His muscles bulging, his entire body beginning to grow taller and taller. His clothes were ripping loudly as he grew too large for them, revealing large muscles, a tail sprouting from the base of his spine and demonic horns growing from his head. In less than a minute the barely 5 foot tall Nate had instead become an 8 foot tall slab of muscle, panting heavily, still holding Kira against the wall, staring down at her.
