Lieutenant jg M'Niarr found humans fascinating, amusing and irritating, sometimes all at once. But one thing they were was never boring. They were definitely never that.

One of the things that M'Niarr found fascinating/amusing/irritating about humans was the fascination that their species had with her species, Even before Humans had met Caitians, they had been...well, fantasizing seemed the right word...Humans had been fantasizing about feline humanoids.

This led to some misunderstandings. For one thing, Humans...well, not all humans, but a subgroup often referred to Furries who had a fascination with Caitians...anyway, some humans made a lot of assumptions about Caitians, based on the fantasies that prewarp humans had about sentient feline humanoids. For one thing, some humans assumed Caitian females were promiscuous, based not on their knowledge of Caitian culture, but on prewarp "Furry" literature and associated media. The truth was quite different. For one thing, Caitians, like Humans, were not a monolithic society. M'Niarr, for example, was a virgin, which was not an uncommon trait among young, unmarried Caitians in the region of Cait that M'Niarr had grown up in.

Well, her fellow Starfleet members at least knew what Caitians were really like, though she suspected that one or two closet furries still had their fantasies.

At present, M'Niarr wasn't worried about furries. She was assigned to the USS Yeager, a starship which served as a testbed for new technology. One of those was the sonic shower, which M'Niarr found exhilarating. But there was other devices that M'Niarr didn't like. And she didn't like the new uniforms. When M'Niarr had graduate the Academy a half a year ago, she had gotten her commission and worn a uniform with a skirt and shorts, modified for her tail. She loved the freedom. The new uniform, though, which the crew of the Yeager were among the first ones issued...M'Niarr didn't like them at all.

M'Niarr stood in front of her bed, a towel wrapped around her body, frowning at the uniform in question and missing her miniskirt, when something happened. A supposedly innocuous device three decks below interacted with another innocuous device and a towel wrapped Lieutenant M'Niarr disappeared from her own reality and appeared in another. Specifically, she appeared in the living room of a beach house on an isolated beach of the Atlantic Ocean.
