Well, the sky was blue at least, puffy white clouds dotted the blueness, each a private headquarters for Earth's new citizens... A lone figure stood out in the middle of a clearing, what once had been green flourishing grass was now brown and dead. The dead earth was a fascinating contrast to the never-ending hopeful blue that hung overhead, hanging just out of reach for those without wings on their backs. Kaji knew this better than anyone, everyone wanted to escape up to the heavenly blue above, but even the angels had a job to do.

Donovan stood, a human in his mid-twenties, conditioned to fight the demonic threat, though he was never much of a fan of angels either. They came in handy, he kept in touch with a few of them in case his hide needed saving. It was all fucked up, surrounded by these heavenly beings from above, and then these blood-thirsty horned creatures down below. He had furled brown hair that came down over his eyes in a heavy fluff, and a serious look on his face. He wore a long coat and brown, patched up pants. Two guns stood clipped to each of his hips, each with their own stripe, blue and red. Angels and demons...

Donovan began to cross the field towards his target, an old broken down chapel where, ironically, a demonic gathering was about to begin... Before he even knew it he was at the doors, slammed open and turning ten ugly demon heads. Good thing he wasn't here to kill them quite yet... Donovan knew his limits...

A lone man stood at the altar, his arms raised high having been mid-ceremony. He was the county "duke" Donovan liked to call them. Kaji Alistar. He was a human by all appearances, but he held very dark powers that betrayed his good looks and disarming smile.

The human and demon met eyes as he walked in cooly. "Came to give you a warning, demon." He spoke solely to Kaji, he was the pain in Donovan's ass right now...

"Oh?" Kaji stepped forward slowly, a fire burned upwards in his upraised hand, coalescing into a single card; King of spades. This was his weapon. Donovan had heard the stories. "And what might that be oh courageous human? You think you're the first to come in here?" Kaji cackled loudly, nodding his head sideways at a large black circle in the wall, "That's the remains of the last 'demon hunter' that decided to approach me... Maybe the paint could use a double coat." He laughed.

Donovan took a step back. This was going to get dicey. He handled a small switch in his gloved hand, a detonator. "Just warning you." He said, smiling suddenly.

Kaji's eyes widened as Donovan dashed backwards and began to run to the clearing outside. "FOOL!" He roared, horns sprouting from his head of white hair, going demon just as Donovan detonated the line-up of plastic explosive on each side of the chapel.

  • Waiting for anything was always just so boring for the dear woman, hands holding either side of her face, a pout toyed with her lips as she laid aimlessly, her human absolutely losing her mind down below. "Don't you think we should do something?" The words were called from the ground, the winged creature let her feet twirl about as she lay on her stomach, looking evidently un phased about the events of a male walking into a death trap. Personally, angels weren't sent to Earth to care about humans and or give a damn about their deposition. She wasn't even this male's angel so there was no need for her to make any difficult effort to help him in any manner. She was fighting the war just like the rest of the angels were, even if she was a Seraph and not particularly the regular type of angel. You see, being that she was a Seraph, she was the highest form of angel, right up there next to God as depicted often as the six winged angels surrounding God in pictures and such. "Nope." Much to the dismay of her priestess human, the Seraph grinned broadly, deciding she would let the human have his fun. He wasn't hers to look over, as stated before, although her human had stated clearly that she had prophecy thoughts about him and she truly didn't like the predicament he had put himself in. They both saw it, of course, but the Seraph was a tease and she herself enjoyed a bit of fun.

Maybe that was why her human often grew frustrated with her. "NOW ISLANI." Pouting softly, the angel who was truthfully eight winged found herself standing on her cloud with bare feet, sharp eyes flickering with a bit of joy even as her pout expression left her full lips downward. It was alright however the angel hitting the ground solidly, the small cloud had evaporated and the crunchy grass was at her feet, leaving a soft indention on the ground, the fiery haired angel let her hands fall to her hips before walking in a waltz fashion toward the outer land in front of them. It was a holy space, so holy that in fact the female would be delighted as to what would come with her, the priestess walked aimlessly close behind, being that she was only a priestess in a bit of training and her Angel had been sent because she was a devout member of a Catholic church. A follower of the Light which had instantly made her a recruit for Heaven's army, however, the darkness could be felt between the both of them, looking to the priestess, the Seraph who had been called Islani looked to her dear human.

"Let's be happy, yes? Try to be happy Nadia." The Angel had the accent of a Russian, something given to her when her Lord had dropped her into the war along with several other high powered Angels, she was recruiting humans and this chapel was not full of devout spirits. Only one of the pair winced when the explosives, evidently it was the human of the two, her wings twittering broadly on such a pretty day, the flames engulfed her background as she wrapped her arms around her friend, "Up you go!" Because watching from above to see the scene would only be so much fun, the Seraph blew softly into the air and set her human safely among it's cotton folds, her arms folded softly to catch the human male running, she frowned softly at him for trying to do something like that by himself. Idiot. "Temper temper Kaji, your friends in there will be fine. Used to burning, yes." Straight length of bangs over her eyes, the red color seemed to become lit with the sun while the rest wrapped around her pretty face and the length dropping to her mid back.

Wrapped in the white fabric that seemed pure no matter how much dust and dirt began to fly thanks to the breezes coming about and moving the clouds slowly, the Seraph who had been made of the heart of Sarah, Abraham's wife, the angel set her hands on her hips. Unfolding her large Bible, the female who set comfortably and hopefully safely in the clouds began to pray to the one above, not because the angel beneath her needed to, but because it was something she was used to in most of these situations. The priestess wasn't a fighter unless she needed to be, and currently, this was not one of those cases. [/list:u]

Donovan dove off the front steps of the chapel as he activated the detonator, fully expecting to hit hard earth and dead grass. Instead he found himself in the comfort of an angel's wings, something he had experienced before. It was otherworldly to say the least. Donovan's arms crossed in front of him as he came into the Seraph's embrace, fire and shrapnel that had blown into the air was now raining down upon them, the chapel a big pile of rubble. Had Donovan did it?

Slowly, the human pulled himself from the angel's grand eight wings, shaking himself out of that heavenly stupor being wrapped in wings gave you. "Y-you!" Donovan staggered over his words, adrenaline still running its course through his mortal endocrine system. He had met this angel before, she watched over a priestess. Religious types... He listened as she spoke over him to Kaji amidst the rubble and broken burning wood. Donovan wheeled around, he should've known the higher demon would survive the blast... Donovan slowly unclipped his pistols from their holsters, as if they would do him any good.

A large pile of wood parted from itself and fell down in a cloud of debris. Kaji the demon unfurled his cape in a flourish after protecting himself from the blast with his billowy accessory. He was in full demon mode, his smart-ass human like facade had been replaced by something completely different. Long red horns sprouted from his head in a curl, his fangs increased in length three-fold, he was looking dangerous. "Stupid... Stupid human..." He breathed the words in a rage. He raised two hands, half-covered in tattered gloves, two cards slow-burned from his finger-tips to life, ready to explode.

Donovan turned to the seraph, a look of urgency in his eyes. "We need to get out of here!" He declared. Behind him Kaji slowly began to stalk forward, with a twist of his wrist he let the two cards fly across the field at a frightening pace. They glowed yellow, about to explode in the pair's faces.

[sorry that took so long, school. Feel free to move this action scene on however you see fit. ]

  • Of course he hadn't done it, silly human. If that was the case, as Islani thought by simply feeling the hopeful attitude within the human as her wings kept him from being sliced by the wind and shrapnel that had come from the impact of the blast, the flames doing nothing to injure the dear Seraph. However, the priestess leaning back to avoid getting showered on herself, the forgetfulness that she was in a cloud left her sighing faintly, peeking back over it to see the human that had been saved was utterly surprised. . Just like he was the first time. The wings were separated in sections, each wing at the same length except for the one's at the lowest of her back, the set of two wings each representing something. "Eternal Father, I humbly set on Earth before thee in asking for your assistance. . May the Most Precious Blood of Christ, all His Blood, Wounds, and Agony save us." Just as a precaution, the priestess prayed quietly, evidently having gone through many of these in being with the church.

The wings fluttering as a grin settled itself on her lips, her hands fell onto her hips as the response was just familiar enough to leave her with a sour taste in her mouth. Of course there was no thank you, simply because humans often just expected for a Heavenly presence to drop from the sky whenever they felt the need to. Not every human had a guardian. "Y-y-your WELCOME." She decided she would help out his speech problem, rolling her eyes at him as they both saw with different sets of eyes what was going on behind them, the demon evidently angry and a little cranky because his party had been crashed by a human and an angel, mentally hoping that her human was not in too much plain sight. Surely she wasn't, right? Her smooth legs exposed thanks to the on coming winds given off by the flame that engulfed the destroyed chapel, her long length of hair flickered upward in a whisked fashion, wings standing up in their holy way before tilting her head at the human beside her. "I would be pretty angry too if you just stomped on my party like that."

The Seraph evidently had no regard in fighting Kaji, simply because that was a part of being in the war and simply because she was an angel of high power didn't mean she couldn't fight. It was only a matter of having to get a few scratches here or there, that would show the added sense that God had given to his highest ranks. "While you're running though, catch my Nadia and find somewhere safe, won't you?" Within the few seconds of her speaking, she turned to face Kaji, snapping her fingers simply and the cloud evaporated from beneath the priestess. The screams of the priestess were evident as she grew nearer to the ground, having enough faith to know that she surely wouldn't die like this and she wouldn't just hit the ground either. . Right? However, the cards struck the angel in the explosions that they were caused to, her wings catching the second and keeping it from hitting the male human. The yellow flames would engulf anyone beneath such a power, and though they had caused an impact and evidently hit her.

The sound of something pushing the air occurred and the angel was up from the flames, charging toward the angry demon, the silver glint of a large sword in her hand as her wings guided her with speed toward him, striking him back toward the chapel. "Now now Kaji. No one likes a temper tantrum."

    ohohsee; that's fine. I have school myself.[/list:u]

Donovan didn't have a chance to even think of a retort to the angel's insult before she had allowed her human to fall from her safe place. He made a double take at the angel, to the plummeting priestess, and back at her. He had a look of shock before he fell out of his stupor, stumbling and dashing forward, quickly holstering his pistols he dashed towards the priestess. "Fuuuck!" He could tell he was just a bit slower then her falling speed, he pumped more energy into his legs, sprinting at a low posture and falling to his knees, sliding to where she fell. He caught her perfectly, that might have hurt in another case, perhaps the angel's doings. The saving done with, Donovan dashed with the priestess in his arms, smiling down at her despite himself. "Nice to see you again!" He gave the remark quickly as he ran into the trees, the road where his motorcycle waited was about a quarter mile ahead. Donovan huffed it as fast as he could, Nadia (?) would only slow him down more if he let her off.

Kaji took the blow hard in his slightly weakened state, "Raargh!" He slid back on his heels from the blow, demonic blood splattering in a diagonal arc across the holy ground. "Fuck you!" His hands made an angry snap of the wrist, conjuring up two more cards, his fingers shifted, revealing three more cards; four in each hand. The bigger his hatred and anger got, the more explosive and numerous his attacks. It's how all demons fought, feeding on their rage. Breathing deeply, ignoring the gashing wound that slowly fixed itself across his chest, he threw his load in a wide and tall arc, each of the eight cards glowed brighter then his previous attack, ready to blow in the air before the seraph. The exploded prematurely, smoke exhuding all around the seraph.

Kaji had dashed forward through the din, black cape unfurling in a flourish. He had two more cards in each of his hands, these ones glowing red, ready for melee combat. Blowing through the smoke towards the angel in a surprise attack, he slashed diagonally with the super-heated melee weapons.
[Hope this doesn't seem like god-moding, I like attractive powers!]

  • Her screaming was one thing, but the thought of her growing nearer and nearer to the ground was another, Nadia's feet kicking out as though it would keep her from landing on the ground in a painful thud. Thankfully, however, there was no thud, only a bit of a thump as she landed in a grasp that definitely wasn't the gasping for water grass below. No, instead she landed in the arms of another which wasn't something she was used to, for instance now, the expression on her face still in shock from falling and now in shock of being caught and now being ran with as though she were the object of some game, blinking quickly when she heard a voice above her, looking up and realizing that the male had saved her. Deciding against speaking and knowing she would be quite mad at Islani for starting this in the first place, Nadia turned her head once they reached the grouping of trees that was much too small to be considered a set of woods. "WHERE are we going!?" Of course, all humans were rude enough at certain times to not say thank you.

It was within her shortcoming to be impatient about things like this, though she knew the cause and effect of anything dealing with a demon, more specifically when you had taken an impact to a demon in that sense. They were struck, and then they were fine, it was all in the shortcomings of being the way both of them were. Surprisingly, if you were to pay close attention, they were quite similar, the demon and the seraph. "Not in your life, Kaji." She mumbled under her breath, speaking on his violent words, words did no harm to the angel, apparently. Her wings twittering again even as he roared his angry words at her, Islani tilted her head softly with a pout, looking childish for only a few seconds before flapping her wings again, the muscles within them beginning to push the remainder of the fire out, though in doing this it slightly distracted her from the cards being shot at her that exploded and he came at her with a surprise attack.

Wincing as he came at the pure creature with the heated cards, the weapons sending her back quite a bit, wings fluttering to keep her from landing on her back, though where he had slashed glowing a bit red, the fabric of her dress having the most damage with it's long rips, it wasn't enough to fall off her frame however. The burning red slices on her skin beginning to sink in as skin began to form back over it, floating in the light of the sun, her eyes narrowed at him, deciding to go again wings guiding her in a circle around him as she struck without a noticeable pace of movement, striking each time her arms wielded her to bring down her sword and her wings pumping again. After she was seemingly finished, she moved back to her place in the light before charging at him, no longer with her sword though wrapping her wings around him, the seraph giggled softly as her lips came in near contact with his ear, "What a big grump you are." She murmured, the light engulfing him only as a tease of the light before her wings released him and the female advanced toward the sky.

    ohohsee;; that's fine.
    [:
it gives her more reason to pick on him.

Kaji whirled angrily as his opponent recoiled and flew about him with those damned wings, how he would have loved to cut them down... Clashing with her attacks with his own weapons he growled in attacking back. He had not expected her however to take him in an embrace. Blasted angels! He patted down his eyes angrily from being flashed by God's light, staggering back towards the chapel. He took a deep, regulating breath, slowly his horns retracted back into his head, his claws coming back to normal length. He looked human again, he put on a cool smile, the two cards he had been using as weapons earlier cooled to their white and black and red. "Fucking seraphs. I'll get your human friends, you've my word on that." He pointed at her, glaring across the field at her. Kaji knew when he shouldn't fight. Adjusting his tattered coat, he wheeled about and sprinted away from the chapel the opposite way.

"To safety! Where do you think?!" Donovan replied, dragging along with her. He could hear the heavy footfall of angry demons, coming to investigate the happenings at one of their meeting places.

Soon they were on the cracked roads on his motorcycle at full speed. He had had to dispatch a few lesser demons, but they had made it relatively unscathed... He wondered how the girl's seraph friend would fare. He pursed his lip as he looked ahead to the road, accelerating.

  • She knew it would absolutely frustrate him for her to wrap her wings around him, although when he cooled himself down quite a bit, she smiled to herself at his finger pointing at her, his stance reminding her of a crooked cross. Truth be told, that was actually the shape any demon took when they held their arms out, even with one arm as Kaji just had, they resembled the crooked sign of Jesus. Then again, the truly crooked ones never really paid for their debt then, hm? "Of course you will! Let's make an appointment next time though, alright?" She called out, the demons of lesser form coming to take his place in the battle, the few that were on her side of the stance were easily taken down, not to be mixed in with the powers of the other, higher demon, Islani flapped the white feathers into the air, smiling to herself and deciding she would take her time for this one. Hopefully, in taking her time, Donovan wouldn't have her Nadia killed in the process of carrying her to a much needed safety, when all she really wanted to do was get the both of them out of here. No need to bear witness of two deaths, ay?

"Oh come on! I'm not that heavy!" Knowing she was being just a bit mean in the sense that he really didn't have to catch her just like he really didn't have to currently be carrying her at the moment, rushing the two of them to the 'safety' of his motorcycle, something she had never been on though made sure to hold on tight to the male as not to fly off. She didn't have wings like Islani, and flying off for Nadia would not result in anything good. Now however, still holding on to him with her bible placed in her tote bag, Nadia leaned forward to make sure he could hear her as she asked again, "No really! Where are we going?" Asking just in time for him to accelerate and for her to clench onto him again, fortunately, she had yet to realize that her body was pressing tightly against his from behind, fear of falling off and killing herself evident, though to anyone else, it would look a bit suggestive; Nadia was a priestess, not a prostitute. Her legs exposed however, thanks to the change of clothes she had made a few cities back, her deep purple dress stopping around thigh length, a pair of boots were firmly placed on her feet, the sunlight tanning her exposed upper shoulders and chest. [/list:u]

Donovan looked down through his blowing long hair for a moment, seeing his passenger's legs down below his own. Some priestess, she had attitude and fancied dressing like this. "Relax. We'll go somewhere safe so that you can randevouz with your winged friend." He revved the engine, accelerating for another while until they came to it. The signal was a yellow sign with a prancing deer on it, as if deer even existed anymore in this apocalyptic world, natural feed for the demons. The sign had red graffitti all over it, making it unique to Donovan's eyes. He turned hard suddenly off the road into what she would have guessed forest, but actually a dirt path. He decelerated only slightly, leaves and brush whipping past the two as he rode on.

They would ride for a few minutes before they arrived, by a near-dead river. A beaten up shack stood near the water-side, more red and black graffiti littered across it. It had various make-shift fortifications about it, no doubt for the occupants safety. The occupant being the demon hunter. He skidded to a halt on his bike, kicking down the stand and dismounting. He bowed deeply, offering his hand in a chivalrous manner. "Your hide-out, milady." He announced teasingly.

  • Truth be told, if the priestess had caught him looking at her legs the way he had and thinking such thoughts, she probably would have beaten Jesus into him, however, Nadia was not enough of a prude to think about doing that, too busy holding on for fear of loosening her grip only slightly and falling off the motorcycle. This was different, as she had never been on one of these noisy things before, eyes looking upward to the sky through her hair for any sign of her friend's enormous wings, though finding none, her eyes looked back to the surroundings in front of her. In case this was any sort of trap, she wanted to at least have a few images left in her head. Her hair dancing about her face, Nadia took in the sight of a close to, if not slowly dying, river that seemed to scream for it to rain at least once, though the shack was what caught her attention. Wow. A shack? Shaking her head for being entirely too negative on the outside of such a place, when the once roaring machine below her skidded and stopped, she almost found herself leaning entirely too far in the direction that it was, she let out a soft sigh, something she hadn't been able to do on that cursed motorcycle.

Turning her head as he hopped off with no problem and bowed in front of her like this was something humorous, the female carefully swiveled her leg around to sit properly before stepping off carefully as not to fall or trip over anything, "Humor. .That's nice." Ouch. The female who was once a part of the nunnery evidently wasn't quite used to any man, none the less one such as Donovan, raising a brow at him before walking around his bowed frame and eyeing up the shack, "You live here?" Was her intial question, dusting off a few bits of dust and dirt from her dress, the female was a sight to see; An attractive priestess. Hm. This world really was going to Hell. Long legs stretched as she stood with a hand over her eyes and the other holding the large book of scripture, her boots covered in dust for all the proper reasons, she turned around and looked at him, "Well? Aren't we going in?"[/list:u]
