The deepest recesses of your dirty little mind
It had been nearly a month since Candace Miller broke up with her cheating bastard of an ex A.J. For the first couple of weeks he relentlessly tried to convince her that it was a one time mistake and that he was truly sorry. He swore that it would never happen again. Candace almost believed him but after a little digging she found out there had been at least 7 other women that he had been bedding that she knew about, and possibly countless others she had yet to discover. Finally, she blocked his number and tried her best to move on. With no other way to contact her, A.J. decided to send her one last email with several attachments and a threat.

"Candace,

I tried to give you time to think things over and I was willing to give you another chance but you made it very clear that you wanted to make this difficult. You have forced my hand and now I will give you 2 weeks to transfer $50,000 to my account or I will start by sending these to your family, friends and even your boss. How do you think they would feel about seeing you acting like the filthy little whore we both know you are? IF you transfer the funds, I will delete them and all of the other photos and videos I have on you."

She stared at the words, completely stunned by his audacity. He was the one who had clearly fucked up and caused the relationship to end. How could he ever think she would go back to him? After the shock of his tone wore off she began to open the attached files. Each one was either a picture he had taken of her naked, or video clips he had made of the two of them engaged in various sexual acts. She thought about firing back a nasty little email of her own, calling out his behavior and telling him that she would go to the police if he tried to make good on the threat but she knew what kind of man A.J. really was. He was a low life manipulative little bitch who would undoubtedly immediately send out the files to everyone she knew.

She knew deep down that she had to find another way out of this. While she could most likely get the money in time to transfer it to his bank account, she knew it was no guarantee that he would keep his promise. She realized quickly enough that he would then demand more and more money from her instead of keeping his word. She knew she had to do something to stop the bastard. If she went to her parents, they certainly would refuse to help and admonish her for engaging in such behavior. Her friends would be useless as well. There was only one man she could turn to in a time like this, her uncle Rennie.

For most of her life, she had been told that Rennie was not to be trusted. She had overheard her parents talking about some of the shady things he had supposedly been involved with, but she never wanted to believe that he was really a bad person. He had always been good to her and she knew that if anyone could help her find a way out of this mess he was it.

Candace texted her uncles, not going into detail about what A.J. had on her, only that he was out to ruin her life. There was no way that she would be able to keep her job at the law firm she was currently working as a legal secretary with a scandal like this hanging over her head. While her boss was understanding about many things, those videos certainly fell under the unacceptable category. It was a couple of hours later when her uncle replied that she should come to see him immediately. She was getting ready for a girls' night out with a couple of her friends when she got the text. The curvy brunette was already wearing the sexy red dress she had picked out for the occasion and black stilettos. She let her friends know she would be a little late and immediately hurried over to see him.

Reynolds Winter was five years older than his sister, but he had always been her protector, even when she wasn't aware of it. Their father was a nasty drunk, and had beaten on his wife until Reynolds, at fourteen, confronted the old man and put a stop to it. It wasn't just his toughness; he caught their father in running numbers for a local mob and threatened to turn him into the cops if he ever raised a hand to the rest of the family again. Five years later, as a police academy graduate, he had even more tools to keep control of his father, until the bum was shot down by his own bosses for skimming. The money he'd been stealing from the mob was never returned, but Rennie, as he was known by then, was able to support his sister's college tuition, despite being on a cop's salary.

He made detective within a couple of years, and ended up in one of the city's toughest precincts. Four years later he was the senior detective on his squad. The chiefs took notice that his precinct complaints had been reduced by over 60 percent under his watch, even while arrests had fallen precipitously. It seemed Rennie had a way of making problems go away that didn't involve bringing more perps in to arrest and trial. The word around the business owners and residents of the precinct was that "Detective Rennie" was a reliable 'problem solver.' Winters was passed over for promotion twice, then quietly asked to take early retirement.

Rennie went into business as a private detective, but, again, his reputation was as a problem solver. Rich clients who came to Rennie with their 'problems' found them soon taken care of, for which Rennie would be richly compensated. He was successful, but lived modestly in a two bedroom apartment in a nice neighborhood, while maintaining a small office in a commercial district dominated by bankers, brokers, deal makers, and the wealthy who knew they could find him quickly if some 'problem' came up that needed his means of solving.

Meanwhile, his sister met a nice guy at college, got married, and had a daughter, Candace. Rennie still felt protective of his family, and made it a point to show up to family celebrations. He had forged a friendly relationship with his niece; he gave her nice gifts for holidays and celebrations. He was there for her grade school plays, as well as her high school and college graduations. At the same time, her mother and father both grew wary of his reputation. They made him less welcome to family get-togethers, as much as they could. Rennie managed to keep following Candace as she grew up, monitoring her social media, for example, keeping track of her pictures with friends and boyfriends. He sent her another gift, a silver necklace, when she got her job at her law firm, with a nice note saying he was proud of her accomplishments.

He'd noted that postings of her with her latest boyfriend had abruptly disappeared from her social media a month or so ago. Rennie did a quiet quick check on the guy, A J, and what he found so far had raised a few warning signs. Now that Candace had called him, after almost five years of no contact, he had a bad feeling. She said she had to see him immediately - it was the kind of call he'd gotten often over the years, and it usually meant a serious problem to be solved. His fees for his services were usually pretty high, but, after all, Candace was family. Even if the family was not treating him well for some time, he would still take care of her, he thought.

The knock on the door brought him to answer it immediately. Even though he'd seen her images on Facebook, seeing her in the flesh, and so alluringly displayed in her evening dress just about knocked him for a loop. He stared for several seconds before snapping out of it and asking her in. He led her to a chair in his living room and sat across from her on the edge of the sofa. "It sounds like you have something serious on your mind, Candace," he encouraged her, but still he could not stop looking at her across from him, her body luscious and tempting.

"Want to tell me about it?"
