Tedra Farshine was looking through her new book, 'Serpents Of The West' with pursed lips. She'd been going through books rapid fire since she was much younger, maybe five of age. Every since she had seen a shadow that looked unusal and, well, to her parents unreal.

But she knew that there had to be something more then just waking up, working and doing it all over again. Perhaps it was just wishful thinking on her part. Maybe a hold over from the fact she was to shy to make friends. She wanted MORE out of this life then what the world seemed willing to give her.

She sighed and put her book down, feeling the ache spread down over her neck and back. She had been sitting for hours reading, and she only realized it due to the rumbling of the grandfather clock down the hall.

She blinked and got up, stretching as she went down the hall to look at the clock. It was 15 past midnight. She really needed to get some sleep, as tommorrow was a long day.

She had just moved into the Mansion she was currently in. It was odd, it had been left to her, by an old Scholar, that no one knew. Even she had never met the man, and didn't know why she had been given this place to live.

As it was, she made her way down to her bedroom, setting down on the edge of her bed, and without further delay, she undressed and curled up under the satin sheets.

The mansion was like most in New Orleans, the remnant of an old plantation. With its wooden fences long rotted away, the old slave shack still at the far side of the field, with its rusting iron and rotting wood. It was basically just a pile of junk now. However, the mansion was in absolutely pristine condition. With its charred wood walls and floors, priceless paintings, Victorian furniture and surprisingly modern kitchen. Everything looked as if it had been untouched since its establishment, save for the appliances and a few remodeled rooms. But those were mere tiny details.

The library had been surprisingly empty of books, allowing Tedra to fill the endless shelves with her endless collection which still remained in its boxes. The old dining hall could be easily converted to accommodate her entertainment system, if she had gone through the process of packing it.
As she laid in the old silk comforter, amidst the paintings of old lords and family members. She could feel the moonlight shine upon the room just as strongly as the evening sun. The silhouette of a man standing at the tall glass window could be easily made out. Yet, his head had long, curving horns that were reminiscent of a ram's. Glinting with polished ebony beauty. He had grand, huge wings that stretched out behind him. He merely watched silently, passionately. His features obscured by the light of the moon.

Tedra shifted in her sleep, the silk sheets sliding down off of her back, restless. She seemed to be getting less and less sleep these days, always feeling like something was missing, or wrong. Offten she had strange mixed dreams that left her with an unpleasant feeling in the morning.

Yet, even as she felt that usual restlessness tonight, she had a moment of calm, an easy sense of wellness.

It was almost as if the world was going to answer her odd request. But even in her sleep state, she knew that was silly. Why would it after so many years of nothing but being alone? She sighed in her sleep and rolled over, her breast exsposed, nipples perked from the slight chill in the air.

He entered carefully through the door, his heavy foot claws digging into the wood and making low thuds across the floor. His wings were wrapped around him cautiously, like a shield that was only there for emotional comfort. He gazed down upon her face, his features once again obscured by the darkness of night. She could only see thin, glowing yellow lines that ran down from his shining amber eyes, down his neck and made intricate patterns across his chest.
"Tedra..." A velvet voice whispered with great love as a powerful, scaly tail carefully ran over her body.

Tedra, shifted with a soft little sigh as she heard her name whispered. It left a wave of comfort through out her body, making her feel at ease in this new place. She moved a bit again, whispering quite sentences in her sleep, comprised mostly of things that had to do with her lonely-ness, unease with humans, and the fact that she couldn't seem to find what she was searching for.

When his tail ran over her body she shivered, shifting yet again, her hands moving slowly, almost as if she was searching for him. Not even knowing who it was she searched for.

(( Sorry about the delays. Family came in for a visit from out of state. Be here for a week. ))

His tail stroked over her slender arms and legs, her body suddenly embraced by an unfamiliar warmth. She would be able to see small wisps of fire erupt from the subject's mouth, just barely illuminating his features. From what she could see was that he had chiseled, wrought features and shapely eyes.
"Awaken, Tedra." He spoke, his tone conveying sympathy and sorrow in its purest form. The Crachien bent down to her, his faces mere inches from her, polished, ram-like horns stuck out of the top of his head, shining in the moonlight.

Tedra moaned, almost as if she didn't want to wake up. She was having the most wonderful of dreams now. She was warm and happy, and there was this voice, a voice that made her happy. He was talking to her and showing her wonderful things.

She sighed in a resigned fashion and her dreams she left, her eyes slowly fluttering open.

She fully opened her eyes, a bit blurry from the restless sleep. So it wasn't all that surprising that at first she didn't realize what she was seeing was not the ceiling, but something, SOMEONE completely different.

There was no other word for it, she was still dreaming, because what she was seeing was NOT possible. It had to be some cruel joke of her mind on her. After all she had been searching for this very thing all her life.

His wings spread in a grand fashion, casting a shade over her in the bright, pale moonlight. Amber eyes shone through the darkness at her, looking down at the bookworm, Tedra... He purred again, running a claw over her face gently. Making surface wounds before he pulled it away.
"Rise, Tedra." He stepped back, his wings open in a welcoming manner as he requested her full presence.

Tedra heard him, and felt him, and yet for just a few moments longer she was, uncertain on whether this was real or not.

She suddenly reached up and touched the side of her face where he had touched, then looked back towards him, her eyes, half-lidded as she reached up slowly, hesitantly. She paused, pulled her hand back, and then gathering her courage, reached back up to for his face, wanting to touch him. Wanting to make sure he was real.

" Who...are you?"

Her voice was a mere whisper.
