Notice I did not call it Techno, since that is technically a genre of Electronic Dance Music. There are many different kinds of electronic music out there. I browse beatport all the time to find new music. I like house, electro house, progressive house, tech house, breaks, dubstep, some trance, and some minimal. Currently, Electro House is my favorite. I'm currently learning how to DJ with my brother "The Snark" who just got an EP released.

Anybody else like Electronic Dance Music?

ohohoho... you came to the right place my good sir/ma'am.

and by 'learning how to DJ' you mean mixing?
remixing?
crowd reading?
producing?

I'll need a bit more of an explanation there.

I'm afraid I can't help you with your current tastes however.
I don't like much house. or any sub-genre thereof.
psy-trance is the only decent trance.
I prefer epic Hardstyle from the likes of:
Da Tweekaz
Blutonium Boy
;;
Pendulum [not hardstyle, but still epic]
A-Lusion [hardstyle/hardcore]
Venetian Snares & Aphex Twins

I have approx 60+ gigs of music, half this being EDM.
I'll look through what I have tomorrow when I wake up.
er, well...
in like 5-6 hours or so.

At the moment I'm mostly learning to mix and beatmatch. I've dabbled in some producing but I'm not very good at it.

I haven't listened to much psy-trance. I'll have to look into it!

I has picz. I am long haired dude. Pink shirt guy is my bro.

My current muse as far as that's concerned is Enlightenment by Oscilist. If you don't know who that is or what it sounds like, then I invite you to check this shit out.

BB: so far it's standard trance intro. listening to it right now.
at 1:22 it gets somewhat interesting.
1:40ish is so far the best part of the track, in my opinion.

aside from 1:40-2:00 it's your standard 4x4 trance.
fairly boring.
no offense however.

Now if you would like to listen to something that is pure amazement,
here you go:

Da Tweekaz, Angeli Domini. I suggest skipping to about 1:10-1:20 into the track however.
the intro is your standard EDM intro and isn't too exciting.

Just gave a listen to it, and to be honest, it's definitely got a good thumping rhythm to it, it kinda sounds like your typical happy hardcore track with some ambiance thrown in. It's still pretty good, though.

BUT! I'll make a counteroffer. If you like some piano to go along with your bass track, try DM Ashura's NeoMAX. It starts off nice and slow and progressively builds up from there. The snare line at about 6:00 is pretty damn good.

All forms of electronic dance music is all fine an dandy, I prefer more of the hardstyle, and hardcore variety. 185 BPM ACTION IN YO FACE!

On a more serious subject, Blutonium Boy, The Crystal Method, DJ Jimni Cricket, Donkey Rollers, and DJ Crackerdjack. All of them so face-meltingly fantastic it blew my face off.

speaking of crackerjack, he will be coming back up to seattle for Electric Sunshine.
you plan on going?

Are you kidding me?
It's 6/12, My Birthday is totally the 14th, I am so there! You know I make sure I see him when he is in town.

If you're a big anime fan like me, you may like DJ Sharpnel. He does a lot of electronic overclock remixes of anime songs. ^^
Here's a pretty popular one of his:

Sorry I haven't responded to you guys I've been kinda busy. Let's see here...

Enlightenment by Oscilist is pretty good...it's not really my thing though. I will have to agree with DJbayview that it sounds quite standard.

In Da Tweekaz, Angeli Domini, The blood rushed to my head when the vocals came in. I am a sucker for choirs...seeing as I was in one for awhile. Oh and when the chiptunes came in I was like "omg no wai!" XD I like the song, but the kicks are a little hard for me. I can't listen to a ton of it in one sitting.

DM Ashura's NeoMAX is a too fast and a little too busy for me. >_<

DJ Sharpnel is too also kinda fast and busy.

And now for my contribution!

Download this awesome 40 minute mix! It's called Nintendub by Squincy Jones. It combines dubstep, 8-bit nintendo loops, and rap. I have been listening to it a lot lately!

Hehe, yeah I listen to a lot of Sharpnel when I'm playing FPSs or games in general. Gets me into the right mood. x3

I really dig this remix though! I'm listening to it right now.
