Opening Statements

For Honor is a game for the Xbox One, Xbox One X, and the PS4. It Pits some of history's greatest warrior cultures; The Knights, The Samurai, the Vikings and the Chinese warriors of old in mortal combat. These factions have a slew of different warriors at their disposal. Some are what you'd expect, others are additions that might surprise and could you as to their nature, and motivations for being there. While the gameplay is mostly about dueling or fighting for control of specific zones--there is a campaign storyline to be followed. This too will have a storyline to be followed and it will take place shortly after the events of For Honor.

If you have not played the game, I strongly recommend playing through the Campaign to gain an understanding of how things came to be--and where and why we are starting off in the aftermath. New players are welcome, but I prefer individuals who have played the campaign at least once. With that said, there will be some changes from the game as this is a roleplay, not a System Game, like say D&D. They will be mostly minor changes, nothing too drastic. So, that Raider Viking you want will still be largely intact. To begin, as I said there are four factions each with a number of powerful, popular and versatile classes to choose from. The former Blackstone Legion Knights (Though, there are other legions such as the Iron Legion that are listed.) The Warborn Vikings, The Samurai of the Dawn Empire, and the Wu Lin.

** I do not own For Honor, it's the intellectual property of Ubisoft; this is just for fun. **

** I changed the Orochi Samurai's name to the Hitokiti and the Hitokiri's name to Orochi.**

The Rules:

(1.) No Godmodding--your character can be killed.

(2.)
Pick only one class from one faction. I may allow secondary characters later on depending on the size and scope that this reaches. All characters will be Level 1 essentially.

(3.) I fully realize this site is an adult site, but not everything has to include smut or foreplay. No sex in this RP. Sexual tension, attraction, and sexual jokes are fine, however.

(4.) Don't be rude, impolite, discourteous or ill-mannered--so don't be an asshole in other words.

(5.) If someone has a question about the campaign, or if they are new--assist them the best you can if you are knowledgeable about the game's storyline. If you don't know, then defer them to PM'ing me.

(6.) Stay in character, I'll make an OOC PM between all the players so that any questions may be asked. Don't ask questions here. This is going to be the IC thread.

(7.) Follow and input only what I've written down on the character sheet; if you are unsure of what to put down--or you have a question about maybe adding something extra--I'm open to new ideas and concepts, though this doesn't mean I'll accept it no questions asked right away. Sometimes I'll way for an opportune time t bring the idea in.

(8.) Post your profiles here: Character Profiles Subforum and then link them to the OOC when it's up, that way I can see your character, review it, request changes if necessary, and accept it.

(9.) Have fun!

"We are the guardians of our people. We stand strong against all invaders. Duty is our shield, order: our weapon. When we defend the weak, we are...immortal."

The Knights are one of the four playable factions in For Honor. It is their belief that many, if not all of the ancient ruins were built by their ancestors. The Knights had been scattered for centuries but have begun to reunite under a single banner, that of the Iron Legion. There are those still, however, who choose to gather their own "Legion", and their alliance with the Iron Legion is shaky at best. Though seen as a single group, the Knights are hardly unified. There are many Legions in Ashfield, the most prominent being The Iron Legion. Each Legion is an independent army that serves to protect and rule over a specific area, usually around their largest fortress or Sanctuary. Each Legion has its own Circle - a group of highly-ranked individuals who serve as advisors for the Legion and their warlords. For Knights, honor, and duty go hand-in-hand. Oaths were not lightly broken and many knights serve warlords they do not look highly upon. Honor was not tied to imprisonment as doing so was considered an act of mercy.

Overview: The Iron Legion is a legion of knights operating in Ashfeld.

The Iron Legion: The Iron Legion was once one of the greatest Legions in Ashfield. They are actually composed of several legions that have all united under one banner. One of the most revered warriors among the Iron Legion is the warden, and statues with their likeness are mounted in reverence. After years peace, the Legion grew complacent and disorganized with many members deserting without consequence. And when the Viking horde returned, the Iron Legion was overrun. The new Iron Legion was reformed by The Warden to fight against the Blackstone Legion.

History:

The Old Legion
There are many legions in Ashfield. The Iron Legion is considered the greatest among them. The details of their rise are unknown but they would absorb many lesser legions into their ranks including, at one point of time, the Regal Legion. Anyone can see what territory they used to hold simply by looking for a shield with the familiar sword emblem.

Fall From Grace
When the war against the Vikings and Samurai died down, the Iron Legion entered a state of stagnation. They became increasingly disorganized with members deserting in droves without consequence. When the Vikings began returned to raid, despite being significantly weaker than before the Iron Legion was forced to retreat and abandon the people they swore to protect. This continued until the Blackstone Legion looked to unite Ashfield under one rule. The Iron Legion held Harrowgate under the command of Stone for as long as they could from Viking attacks. When all seemed lost, The Warden was sent to end the conflict and succeeded in repelling the Vikings. This led to Stone and many others joining the Blackstone Legion.

The Iron Legion also held the outpost at Ashfield Moor, until a Viking attack, when they abandoned it. The Warden and Stone, who was now a member of the Blackstone Legion, liberated the outpost but came under attack by the Iron Legion Deserters who abandoned their posts. After tracking the knights to their base amongst nearby ruins, the two Blackstones tried to find out why the Iron Legion had abandoned their posts, only to be met with hostility. The remaining knights made it clear that they opposed Apollyon and the Blackstone Legion, but never said why.

The Iron Legion deserters seemed to have the upper hand until Apollyon herself appeared with the Blackstone Legion. The surviving opposition was either executed or inducted into the Blackstone Legion for their courage in battle.

The New Legion:
Over the course of several years, the shambled remains of the Iron Legion was absorbed into the Blackstone Legion. However, several rebellions arose from within the Blackstones, dissatisfied with their rule. Among the dissenters were Stone, Mercy, and Holden Cross. They sought the first dissenter, The Warden, and together they chose to reform the Iron Legion. As more time passed, more Blackstones defected to the New Iron Legion to oppose their former masters.

The New Iron Legion allied with the Dawn Empire and laid siege to the Blackstone Fortress. After the Blackstone collapse, the Iron Legion sent Holden Cross to meet the leaders of the Warborn and the Dawn Empire to discuss how to end The Great War.

Blackstone Legion: The Blackstone Legion was a warring Knights faction lead by a female warlord named Apollyon.

Colors: Grey, Orange, White

Overview: All three playable factions interact with the Legion during their Story Campaign. The Warden (the main character the player plays as in the Knight campaign) was introduced (and knighted) into the Blackstone Legion. It is named for the obsidian table around which the legion was first formed.

Apollyon Takes Over:
The female warlord Apollyon took over the legion by killing her rivals and recruiting many experienced soldiers loyal to her. Her eventual goal for the legion was to start a war between the three main factions. Under her command, she subjugated the majority of the splintered Knight legions, including the remains of the Iron Legion.

Starting a War:
Apollyon's mission was to start an endless war between the Samurai, Vikings, and Knights. She began her mission in Valkenheim by invading many Viking fortresses with the help of Holden Cross, the Warden, and Mercy. Using superior tactics and technology, the Blackstones pushed their army all the way to Svengård. This location was the Legion's primary target: A fortress storing the seed grain of the Viking clans. They attacked the fortress and killed its leader, Gudmundr. With the seed grain under control, the Legion burned half of the food and left a little bit on the order of Apollyon. This was done so that the Viking clans would fight over what little food there was. Her plan would succeed and lead to the Vikings' Great Raid on the Samurai.

This also led to the Warden abandoning his oath and leaving the Blackstone Legion.

Fall of the Blackstone Legion:
In the chaos of the Great Raid, the Legion and Apollyon stormed the palace and killed the Emperor, capturing the various Daimyo in the process. Apollyon gave the throne to Seijuro and left the other Daimyo in the Myre. A Kensei and exiled Daimyo named Ayu killed the other Daimyo, recruited Seijuro and took the throne. With knowledge of Apollyon's doings, The Hitokiri was sent to Ashfield on orders from Ayu.

Meanwhile, in Ashfield, the Warden and Cross along with a complement of other warriors left the Blackstones and reformed the Iron Legion. These soldiers would later side with the Samurai of the Dawn Empire during the siege of the Blackstone Fortress.

The Samurai and Iron Legion stormed the Blackstone Fortress, surrounding the keep and blocking all access tunnels. The Legion fought to the last man, Apollyon herself was defeated in single combat against the Hitokiri. Toward the end of the siege the Warborn showed up and the uneasy alliance broke, the three factions fighting each other once more.

Legacy:
The Blackstone Legion stirred up activity from all three of the factions but destroyed any hope of peace in Ashfeld. The Vikings had been brought back to their former selves, raiding and pillaging and serving as a general threat. The Iron Legion had been reformed and united, now under the Lord Warden. And finally, the Samurai of the Dawn Empire is now ruled by a powerful Empress. Apollyon had succeeded in her goal of weeding out the weak and forcing a conflict between the three factions. This war would go on for many years to come.

Sometime after Apollyon's death, Holden Cross, Stigandr and Ayu meet and share their stories at the request of the Lord Warden. They agree to try for peace, even though it will likely result in their deaths.

Strength:
The Blackstone Legion was very strong at its height. It consisted of many smaller legions that swore fealty to Apollyon, including the Regal Legion (who owned the fortress Daubeny inhabited) and the larger Iron Legion. Its ranks were filled with the enemy's finest warriors, who were captured and conscripted into the Blackstones if they were deemed worthy. It is implied that they also house many former Wardens, such as Ademar and Apollyon herself.

Daubeny's Militia: Not officially named, Daubeny's Militia is a mercenary group formed after Hervis Daubeny abandoned the Blackstone Legion.

Colors: Green, White, Gold

Overview: Hervis Daubeny at one point of time would abandon the Blackstone Legion, taking some assets with him. He would go on and recruit a number of other knights to serve under him. These knights would become the militia that served under Daubeny as a band of mercenaries. The militia would occupy Westhold.

Eventually, the Blackstones would lay siege to the castle, demanding retribution for Daubeny's desertion. Holden Cross would challenge Daubeny to a duel. Recognizing Cross as a superior warrior, Daubeny called such a thing to be an 'execution'. Cross would call upon his second, Ademar, to fight in his place. Daubeny would call upon The Warden to fight in his.

After a duel, The Warden would emerge victorious. However, Cross would not tolerate an official knight of the Blackstone Legion to be defeated by a common mercenary. Cross would knight The Warden as a member of the Blackstone Legion before leaving Daubeny and his men in peace.

Regal Legion: The Regal Legion operates in Ashfield.

Colors: Orange, Grey, White

Overview: The Regal Legion is one of the lesser legions. They were once one of the more prominent legions. However, after challenging the Blackstone Legion they would lose a significant number of their members and assets. They would ultimately submit themselves to the Iron Legion. Many of the Regal Legion's old assets would be plundered by other legions and mercenary groups. Westhold would fall into the hands of Daubeny and his militia but the lions that symbolized the Regal Legion and the supplies still marked by their emblem remained.

Royal Legion: A lesser-known Legion residing in Ashfield.

Colors: Unknown

Overview: Very little is known about the Royal Legion. They are named by Apollyon as one of the many legions that have surrendered to her Blackstone Legion.

"The world fears us. We are the favored of the gods. We plunder new lands. We raid and we grow strong. We live for battle, ready to die in glory."

The Vikings are one of the four playable factions in For Honor. Previously thought to have vanished, the Vikings have returned - in great numbers - from across the sea. They have come to take new lands, plunder, expand the clans and reclaim their ancient homeland in the North. Hundreds of clans now dominate amidst the cold and icy tundra. The Vikings are the undisputed power of the rivers and seas. In their pursuit to gain the approval of their gods in Valhalla, the Vikings live for battle and glory as they seek out riches and new land, destroying everything in their path to gain it.

The Vikings are a loose coalition of hundreds of clans and tribes, the most powerful being The Warborn. Alliances are easily formed and just as easily broken. Disputes and conflicts are par for the course but any outsiders will see them in a state of perpetual war. Technologically speaking they are the most primitive, the frozen tundra of Valkenheim impeding their growth, but underestimate their resourcefulness as your own peril. For Vikings, honor is tied to reputation. Bravery, nobility, magnanimity, a sense of fair play, respect for others, and the strength to do what is right is praised. Acts of cowardice and treachery are reviled. Freedom is highly valued and the act of taking someone prisoner is to make them your slave.

Warborn: The Warborn is one of the most prominent Viking clans.

Colors: Teal, White, Black

Overview: The Warborn is one of the most notable Viking clans in Valkenheim. The Warborn is especially old, as one member brags to a Crow Viking that the former group makes the latter look like "pups". Over time, they would grow and size and prominence, uniting several Viking clans under their banner, and would eventually launch The Great Raid.

The Warborn is actually composed of several Viking clans. The phrase 'Warborn clans' is actually the coalition of clans led by the Warborn. The clans who serve under the Warborn do so either because they recognize they could not beat the Warborn in battle, or because they were defeated by the Warborn in battle and so pledged their fidelity.

History: The Warborn is one of the oldest Viking clans. However, they were not the most powerful. At first, they were one of the lesser clans serving under an unnamed clan. Alongside the Crow Clan, the Warborn defended Dalborg against Mercy, albeit unsuccessfully. When Apollyon succeeded in destroying the food at Svengård, the Warborn starved along with the other Viking clans.

The Rise

With all the clans starving, they would turn on each other. When Ragnar began pillaging his fellow Vikings for food, The Raider came down from his home in the mountains and joined the Warborn to lead the charge against Ragnar. The Warborn killed the rogue Viking and most of his followers before proceeding to recruit the survivors and redistribute the food across Valkenheim. They go out and begin uniting all the Viking clans under their banner. The last clan was the Bear Claw Clan lead by Siv the Ruthless. The Raider defeated her in battle, freeing Warborn prisoners and absorbing her clan.

With the clans united, the Warborn began to take back the lands held by the Blackstone Legion such as Odingård. While going through the plunder, Stigandr saw loot taken from the Samurai. He declares that they would raid the Myre and the Samurai. This would come to be known as The Great Raid.

Outlook: The Warborn are righteous in their morals, believing they fight for all of Valkenheim. They offered mercy in exchange for surrender to Ragnar's forces, and returned the stolen food to those in need.

The Bear Claw: The Bear Claw clan is a Viking Clan in Valkenheim.

Overview: The Bear Claw clan was one of the more violent clans, led by the warmongering Siv. They occupied Skällaborg, decorating the path to their fort with the severed heads of their enemies. After the destruction of Svengård, the Bear Claws starved like all the other Vikings. After escaping prison, Ragnar would take refuge in Grön. He would lead several of its members to begin raiding each other and hoarding food. After Ragnar's death, the Vikings that followed pledged their allegiance to the Warborn.

The Warborn would go on to unite the other Viking clans until only the Bear Claw remained. The Warborn would absorb the Bear Claws and free their prisoners.

======================================================================================================================

The Crow: The Crow clan is a lesser Viking Clan residing in Valkenheim.

Colors: Unkown

Banner: Unknown

Overview: Very little is known about the Crow Clan. They are first seen by Mercy when she infiltrated Dalborg, serving under an unnamed Viking clan. A Warborn Viking was bragging to the Crow Viking how the Warborn could unite all the Viking clans if they ever desired.

After the destruction of Gränsgård, the Crows starved like the other Vikings. It is unknown if they were ultimately destroyed or swore fidelity to the Warborn
.

1567892969149.png

The Wolf: The Viking clan was never officially named but they were, for a period of time, the most prominent clan in Valkenheim.

Overview: The exact name of the clan is unknown, but they used the symbol of the wolf as their emblem. They were once one of the more powerful Viking clans with the Warborn and Crow clans serving under them. They were responsible for many Knight defeats, nearly overtaking Harrowgate, and occupying the Ashfield Moor. They were also in charge of defending its southern entrance, controlling Gränsgård, Dalborg, and Svengård.

The Warborn and Crow clans were assigned to guard Dalborg under the Wolf's banner.

After the fall of Svengård, the Wolf clan suffered with the rest of the Vikings. With the loss of several prominent locations, the Wolves lost a significant amount of their power and the clans serving them would gain independence.

It is unknown if they were ultimately destroyed or inducted into the Warborn.

"Castaway from our land, we are rebuilding. Our hearts are strong, our devotion: absolute, and our skill is beyond question. We will be remembered."

The Samurai of the Dawn Empire is one of the four playable factions in For Honor. These people come from a land, far to the East and they tell a tale of a homeland and an Emperor that was lost at sea and fire during the great cataclysm. Now, more than a millennia later the nomadic warriors roam no more and have rebuilt themselves in a new land with a new Emperor.

After having been driven from their ancestral homes and rebuilding their forces, though strong and mighty, the Samurai still find themselves vastly outnumbered by their new neighbors. Because of this, they know that only through greater cunning, skill and loyalty to each other will their people have a chance to thrive. They may very well be the last of their kind.

The Samurai are the most unified of the three factions, though this does not say much as the Daimyos were often battling each other for dominance. They are the smallest in number and facing an almost constant threat of extinction. They have had to rely on skill, cunning, ingenuity, and determination to pull through. They are led by a single Emperor, the current being Ayu. The Dawn Empire is broken into multiple houses, each led by a Daimyo. The current reigning house belongs to Ayu and is known as The Chosen.

Honor is highly valued amongst the Samurai. They are loyal to the death, battling to defend those they have been sworn to even in hopeless situations, and vowing vengeance should their master be slain. Pride, ambition, and honor seem to be linked as demotion is seen as dishonorable to the point the act of jailing a person is considered a grievous insul

Clan: The Chosen: Ayu's House was a once disgraced house that was exiled by the Emperor. Members of this particular house were close friends with the Hitokiri.

Overview:
During the Great Raid, they would free their old friend before repelling the Vikings from Koto. After Apollyon assassinated the Emperor, Ayu would be abandoned in the swamps, in an inescapable brawl against three other Daimyo vying for the throne. After defeating the three, she would unite their houses under her banner. The final house she would absorb would be Seijuro's House. With that, her house became the dominant house and Ayu was crowned Empress.

With the Dawn Empire under her control, Ayu would lead an assault on The Blackstone Fortress alongside the Iron Legion.

After Ayu subjugates the other Daimyo houses, she lays siege to the Imperial Palace. The Hitokiri confront Seijuro and defeats him in battle. But instead of slaying him, they ask he command their armies. Seijuro is insulted by this demotion. In an attempt to convince him, The Hitokiri offers Seijuro the chance to slay and replace him. Character Class Types

Each faction has a number of combatants filling their ranks; these men and women are highly trained in their respective fields and operations of combat. However, Not everyone is equal; there are fields of specialized fighting that they have goned and perfected their craft. These specializations are as follows:

  1. Vanguard- The Vanguard is one of four playable types of Heroes in For Honor. Wielding what could be called the symbol of their faction, they are well-balanced warriors with good attack and defense capabilities.

While not as tanky as the Heavies or as fast as the Assassins, the Vanguard's jack-of-all-trades nature grants them the flexibility to put themselves on equal grounds against the more specialized Hero type. When together with allies, they can fulfill a multitude of roles including offensive, defensive, and disruption when the time calls for them to adapt.

Most well-rounded of all types, the Vanguards are fittingly leaders of their faction. While they don't excel at any specific role, their simple but versatile kit allows them to step into any role throughout the battle.

    ==========================================================================================
  2. Assassins- The Assassin is one of four playable types of Heroes in For Honor. They are swift and lethal, boasting evasive skills that compound well with their excellent offensive capabilities.

At the cost of lacking defensive options compared to the other three types of Heroes (the Hybrids, the Heavies, and the Vanguards), the Assassins are quick to strike and are speedy on foot. When playing an Assassin, players should rely on their agility to evade attacks or use their signature Deflect to create an opening. They can utilize their speed to hunt down isolated enemies or assault distant control points.

With the ability to seek-and-kill other Heroes effectively, Assassins possess a good selection of attacks that opens up many possibilities for follow-ups. While they lack durability and defensive options, their offense proves to make up for them. One striking difference between the Assassins and their brethren is that they cannot hold their blocking stance in one direction for long, as they are restricted to using a Reflex guard.

    ==========================================================================================
  3. Heavies- The Heavy is one of four playable types of Heroes in For Honor. Easy to identify by either their robust build or a noticeable tool of defense, these Heroes sport high resistance and defensive options.

These beefy warriors hold the highest raw survivability compared to the other three types of Heroes (the Hybrids, the Assassins, and the Vanguards), some of them notably able to deliver devastating damage in a single hit. However, because they are not as mobile, they are typically tasked with working with the team to hold positions until reinforcements arrive. A well-trained Heavy will remain patient, relying on their defensive abilities to resist incoming attacks and wait for their opportunity to strike back with slow but extremely strong blows.

the most resilient to damage of all types. With a strong defense and a larger health pool than other Heroes, the Heavy swings slow but hard. Their seemingly sluggish nature may make seemingly easy to predict, thus an opponent that you could take advantage of. However, enemies should still be wary of their presence on the battlefield, since their main role is to be able to take a few more hits, with some even hitting harder than other fellow Heroes.

Given these characteristics, Heavies are great picks for defensive play in defensively, holding key points on the field. They can choose to wander to help their dueling allies, but their slow speed risks wasted time as quicker enemies.

Although this type of hero tends to be better-fitted for objective defense or tanking situations, they can excel in duels as well
    .

    ==========================================================================================================
  4. Hybrids- The Hybrid is one of four playable types of Heroes in For Honor. They are most recognized for being a mixture between two of the other three types of Heroes (the Assassins, the Heavies and the Vanguards). They may be harder to understand to play due to their uncommon mechanics, but they are lethal in the hands of the player who takes the time to master them.

Hybrids are called such as their skillset does not fit into only one of the three other Hero types: the aggressive yet fragile Assassin, the slow but steadfast Heavies, and the balanced and simple Vanguards. Therefore, they are better considered a mix of two of the three, or an augmented version of one of them. As a result though, no Hybrid are alike, even from the same Hybrid-mix. However, what is a common point is their complexity, where they aren't easy to learn and require time to understand. Once mastered, their skills allow them to reign terror upon the unprepared.

It is best to understand the strengths of an individual Hybrid Hero, since their role is not as clear as the other Heroes. Some are deadly duelists, some are resilient keepers, and others are just unique pocket picks that cannot be described.
Character Classes
Warden-Vanguard: The Wardens are noble elites of the Knights, dedicated to the defense of their land and people. They embody the virtues of the Knights.

"The Wardens: members of an ancient order...fallen into dust. Sworn to defend the weak, masters of the longsword. Their origins lost to history; still, they fight for what is right. Driven by duty, devoted to their people... but only a few may join their order."

Overview

"The Wardens are powerful, noble warriors dedicated to the defense of their land and their people. Striking a balance between defense and offense, wardens wear partial plate armor with chainmail and leather. Wardens wield massive two-handed longswords for slashing enemies and blocking attacks. Trained to be proud, loyal, and brilliant diplomats, the Wardens are expected to embody the highest values of Knighthood. Many set out to achieve this, few do."

Armor and Weapon
The Warden's default armor is a set of interwoven metal plates over chainmail, topped by a visored barbuta helmet made to protect against a stray arrow or blade strike. The partial plate is segmented along the torso, arm, and leg joints to provide great dexterity while still granting plenty of protection in battle.

Longsword - The two-handed longsword is a double-edged weapon. Its hilt is comprised of a long, jutting cross guard, a heavy pommel for counterbalance, and a grip wrapped in leather. In spite of its size and weight, it remains a versatile weapon offering a balance of offense and defense.

Conqueror-Heavy: Ex-prisoners and forced conscripts who have risen to the rank of elite soldiers, the Conquerors have no shame in using cheap tactics to gain the upper hand.

"In desperate times, conscripted criminals refill our ranks. Sometimes, however, you find a diamond in the rough. The most elite earn their name: Conquerors. Strong as a battering ram, resilient as a fortress gate, their flail is as dangerous to the wielder as it is to the enemy. But in the right hands it becomes... unstoppable."

Overview
Ex-prisoners and forced conscripts who have risen to the rank of elite soldier. Originally pressed into military service as sword fodder, those who are skilled enough to survive are promoted out of the rank and file and given heavy infantry training. They are heavily armored warriors, relying on a defensive style and their massive flails to whittle away at their opponent’s stamina until they fall under the Conquerors’ massive onslaught.
