I can't think of a word...

... and it's driving me crazy.

It's like... the opposite of chastising or complaining (not complimenting) but sort of acknowledging a task well done or along those lines. I know there's a specific and simple word for it but for the life of me I cannot remember what it is, or find it by searching. It's making me feel like an idiot...

Any suggestions? I know I won't get any sleep tonight if I don't get it.

Nope, that was not too simple, that was exactly it. For some reason I just completely forgot the word. Although to be fair commend would have also worked in the context I wanted it, just a little less in keeping with the tone I wanted.
