Madeline Decker blinked as she awoke. White walls sourrounded her and the light hurt her eyes. Groaning she closed her eyes again. She was in the medical ward of the citadel. At the age of 27 she had been finally chosen for the next step in every Omeags life. Being paired up with an Alpha who was the perfect partner for her. Well, at least perfect in the aspect of DNA and genes. Currently she was awaking from an examination if she really was an Omega and if she was ready. Only Omegas lived at the citadel, well... they moved in as soon as they where ready. Because of her studys on lost history of humanity before the Ice Age she had been allowed to live a little longer outside of the citadel. For that she used supplements that would keep her heat out of her blood so that no Alpha would turn crazy around her and, for the worst, rape her. Now she was off the supplements and her body had to get used to the loss of the medicine. Up till now she had been here for a few weeks and she really didn't like it here. She didn't like that a partner was chosen for her and she didn't like the rumors or how sometimes some girls were never seen again. It was somehow a scary place. And now she was even looking forward to meeting the Alpha she would marry and get together with. Hopefully he wasn't too old or too ugly. Or too stupid. And most of all, hopefully he wasn't a misogynistic pig. She didn't want to only cook and bear children. She wanted to study more and find more of the lost history of humankind. The ice age has destroyed so much it was her dream to retrieve what her ancestors have left behind.
Suddenly the door opened. A nurse came in, smiled at her: "Oh, I see someone's already awake. Let's see..." Her data and blood pressure was beeing controlled and as the tests and examination had shown everything was fine with her. Perfect. Her body was ready for marriage and for the Alpha. Though, her mind wasn't. Hours later she wore her jeans and shirt, her jacket and she was glad to be released of the medical ward. Now she could go back to the other healthy Omegas, back to her room. In the next few days someone would pick her up for her wedding. It was nothing romantic. Romance was for Betas and Gammas, but not for Alphas and Omegas. She hated being an Omega. There would be no white gown, no guests, just a boring guy, two signatures - hers and her new husbands - and that was it. Then she would move in into his place. She still had no idea who he was. At least he would have good body build. Most Alphas had.
The next days flew by and she really wasn't mentally ready for this. Because there was one rule as well. Every Omega had to stay a virgin until she would be picked for a partner. Dread filled her as she though of her wedding night as well as for her heat. She only experienced it once and it was horrible. She put her brown hair in a ponytail and looked herself in her blue eyes: "Everything's going to be fine. You'll see Maddie." After that she packed the rest of her things, her books and clothes and then someone knocked on her door. It was time.
